One day, Guru Nanak Dev Ji was wandering in the pasture with his cattle. Feeling tired, he spread a sheet under a tree and lay down to rest. After some time, the shade of the tree shifted to the other side, and sunlight fell directly on Nanak Ji.
Coincidentally, the local administrator, Rai Bular, was passing by. His eyes fell upon the sleeping Nanak Ji, and he stood there in astonishment. A large cobra had spread its hood over Nanak Ji’s head, shielding his face from the sun.
Rai Ji immediately sent a man to check whether the boy was alive or if the snake had bitten him. As the man approached, the snake slowly slithered back to its burrow, and Nanak Ji remained peacefully asleep.
Seeing this, Rai Ji was overjoyed to find the boy unharmed. His reverence and devotion toward Nanak Ji grew even stronger.
