Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਵੁੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਆਲਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸਿ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ॥
vuṃ mērē ālsā hari pāsi bēnntī ॥
वुं मेरे आलसा हरि पासि बेनंती ॥
Be gone, O my laziness, that I may pray to the Lord.
ਰਾਵਉ ਸਹੁ ਆਪਨੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੋਹੰਤੀ ॥
rāvau sahu āpnaṛā prabh saṅgi sōhntī ॥
रावउ सहु आपनड़ा प्रभ संगि सोहंती ॥
I enjoy my Husband Lord, and look beautiful with my God.
ਸੰਗੇ ਸੋਹੰਤੀ ਕੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣੀ ਰਾਵੀਐ ॥
saṅgē sōhntī kant suāmī dinsu raiṇī rāvīai ॥
संगे सोहंती कंत सुआमी दिनसु रैणी रावीऐ ॥
I look beautiful in the Company of my Husband Lord; I enjoy my Lord Master day and night.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਚਿਤਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੀਐ ॥
sāsi sāsi chitāri jīvā prabhu pēkhi hari guṇ gāvīai ॥
सासि सासि चितारि जीवा प्रभु पेखि हरि गुण गावीऐ ॥
I live by remembering God with each and every breath, beholding the Lord, and singing His Glorious Praises.
ਬਿਰਹਾ ਲਜਾਇਆ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਮਿਉ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਿੰਚੰਤੀ ॥
birhā lajāiā darsu pāiā amiu drisṭi siñcntī ॥
बिरहा लजाइआ दरसु पाइआ अमिउ द्रिसटि सिंचंती ॥
The pain of separation has grown shy, for I have obtained the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; His Ambrosial Glance of Grace has filled me with bliss.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਇਛ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਮਿਲੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਖੋਜੰਤੀ ॥੧॥
binvanti nānku mērī ichh punnī milē jisu khōjntī ॥1॥
बिनवंति नानकु मेरी इछ पुंनी मिले जिसु खोजंती ॥१॥
Prays Nanak, my desires are fulfilled; I have met the One I was seeking. ||1||
ਨਸਿ ਵੰਹੁ ਕਿਲਵਿਖਹੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
nasi vaṃhu kilvikhhu karatā ghari āiā ॥
नसि वंहु किलविखहु करता घरि आइआ ॥
Run away, O sins; the Creator has entered my home.
ਦੂਤਹ ਦਹਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥
dūtah dahnu bhaiā gōvindu pragṭāiā ॥
दूतह दहनु भइआ गोविंदु प्रगटाइआ ॥
The demons within me have been burnt; the Lord of the Universe has revealed Himself to me.
ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਲਾਲਨ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਵਖਾਣਿਆ ॥
pragṭē gupāl gōbind lālan sādhsaṅgi vakhāṇiā ॥
प्रगटे गुपाल गोबिंद लालन साधसंगि वखाणिआ ॥
The Beloved Lord of the Universe, the Lord of the World has revealed Himself; in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I chant His Name.
ਆਚਰਜੁ ਡੀਠਾ ਅਮਿਉ ਵੂਠਾ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥
ācraju ḍīṭhā amiu vūṭhā gur prasādī jāṇiā ॥
आचरजु डीठा अमिउ वूठा गुर प्रसादी जाणिआ ॥
I have seen the Wondrous Lord; He showers His Ambrosial Nectar upon me, and by Guru's Grace, I know Him.
ਮਨਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਆਈ ਵਜੀ ਵਧਾਈ ਨਹ ਅੰਤੁ ਜਾਈ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
mani sānti āī vajī vadhāī nah antu jāī pāiā ॥
मनि सांति आई वजी वधाई नह अंतु जाई पाइआ ॥
My mind is at peace, resounding with the music of bliss; the Lord's limits cannot be found.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਿ ਮੇਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਿ ਬਣਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
binvanti nānak sukh sahji mēlā prabhū āpi baṇāiā ॥2॥
बिनवंति नानक सुख सहजि मेला प्रभू आपि बणाइआ ॥२॥
Prays Nanak, God brings us to union with Himself, in the poise of celestial peace. ||2||
ਨਰਕ ਨ ਡੀਠੜਿਆ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ॥
narak na ḍīṭhṛiā simrat nārāiṇ ॥
नरक न डीठड़िआ सिमरत नाराइण ॥
They do not have to see hell, if they remember the Lord in meditation.
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਧਰਮੁ ਕਰੇ ਦੂਤ ਭਏ ਪਲਾਇਣ ॥
jai jai dharmu karē dūt bhaē palāiṇ ॥
जै जै धरमु करे दूत भए पलाइण ॥
The Righteous Judge of Dharma applauds them, and the Messenger of Death runs away from them.
ਧਰਮ ਧੀਰਜ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਜੇ ॥
dharam dhīraj sahaj sukhīē sādhsaṅgti hari bhajē ॥
धरम धीरज सहज सुखीए साधसंगति हरि भजे ॥
Dharmic faith, patience, peace and poise are obtained by vibrating upon the Lord in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਕਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਮੋਹ ਮਮਤਾ ਸਭ ਤਜੇ ॥
kari anugrhu rākhi līnē mōh mamtā sabh tajē ॥
करि अनुग्रहु राखि लीने मोह ममता सभ तजे ॥
Showering His Blessings, He saves those who renounce all attachments and egotism.
ਗਹਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਏ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਜਪਤ ਅਘਾਇਣ ॥
gahi kaṇṭhi lāē guri milāē gōvind japat aghāiṇ ॥
गहि कंठि लाए गुरि मिलाए गोविंद जपत अघाइण ॥
The Lord embraces us; the Guru unites us with Him. Meditating on the Lord of the Universe, we are satisfied.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਗਲ ਆਸ ਪੁਜਾਇਣ ॥੩॥
binvanti nānak simri suāmī sagal ās pujāiṇ ॥3॥
बिनवंति नानक सिमरि सुआमी सगल आस पुजाइण ॥३॥
Prays Nanak, remembering the Lord and Master in meditation, all hopes are fulfilled. ||3||
ਨਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਚਰਣ ਗਹੇ ਤਾ ਕੇਹਾ ਕਾੜਾ ॥
nidhi sidhi charaṇ gahē tā kēhā kāṛā ॥
निधि सिधि चरण गहे ता केहा काड़ा ॥
Grasping the Lord's Feet, the treasure of the Siddhas, what suffering can I feel?
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਵਸਿ ਜਿਸੈ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਸਾੜਾ ॥
sabhu kichhu vasi jisai sō prabhū asāṛā ॥
सभु किछु वसि जिसै सो प्रभू असाड़ा ॥
Everything is in His Power - He is my God.
ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਲੀਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀਨੇ ਕਰੁ ਧਾਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥
gahi bhujā līnē nām dīnē karu dhāri masatki rākhiā ॥
गहि भुजा लीने नाम दीने करु धारि मसतकि राखिआ ॥
Holding me the the arm, He blesses me with His Name; placing His Hand upon my forehead, He saves me.
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਨਹ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਅਮਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ॥
saṃsār sāgru nah viāpai amiu hari rasu chākhiā ॥
संसार सागरु नह विआपै अमिउ हरि रसु चाखिआ ॥
The world-ocean does not trouble me, for I have drunk the sublime elixir of the Lord.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗੇ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਣੁ ਜੀਤਿ ਵਡਾ ਅਖਾੜਾ ॥
sādhsaṅgē nām raṅgē raṇu jīti vaḍā akhāṛā ॥
साधसंगे नाम रंगे रणु जीति वडा अखाड़ा ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, I am victorious on the great battlefield of life.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਜਮਿ ਨ ਉਪਾੜਾ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੨॥
binvanti nānak sarṇi suāmī bahuṛi jami na upāṛā ॥4॥3॥12॥
बिनवंति नानक सरणि सुआमी बहुड़ि जमि न उपाड़ा ॥४॥३॥१२॥
Prays Nanak, I have entered the Sanctuary of the Lord and Master; the Messenger of Death shall not destroy me again. ||4||3||12||
