ਵੇਦ ਕਤੇਬਹੁੰ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਲੇਖ ਅਲੇਖ ਨ ਲਖਿਆ ਜਾਈ॥

ਵੇਦ ਕਤੇਬਹੁੰ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਲੇਖ ਅਲੇਖ ਨ ਲਖਿਆ ਜਾਈ॥

vēd katēbhuṃ bāhrā lēkh alēkh na lakhiā jāī॥

वेद कतेबहुं बाहरा लेख अलेख न लखिआ जाई॥

God is beyond Vedas and katebas (holy books of Semitic religions) and He cannot be visualized.

ਰੂਪ ਅਨੂਪ ਅਚਰਜ ਹੈ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਿ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਭਾਈ॥

rūp anūp acraj hai darshan drishṭi agōchar bhāī॥

रूप अनूप अचरज है दरशन द्रिशटि अगोचर भाई॥

His form is grand and awe-inspiring. He is beyond the reach of body organs.

ਇਕ ਕਵਾਉ ਪਸਾਉ ਕਰ ਤੋਲ ਨ ਤੁਲਾ ਧਰਨ ਸਮਾਈ॥

ik kavāu pasāu kar tōl na tulā dharan samāī॥

इक कवाउ पसाउ कर तोल न तुला धरन समाई॥

He created this cosmos by His one big bang which cannot be weighed on any scale.

ਕਥਨੀ ਬਦਨੀ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਥਕੇ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਰਤ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ॥

kathnī badnī bāhrā thakē sabad surat liv lāī॥

कथनी बदनी बाहरा थके सबद सुरत लिव लाई॥

He is indescribable and many a man in order to reach Him has got tired by putting their consciousness into the Word.

ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕਰਮ ਅਗੋਚਰਾ ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧ ਸਾਧ ਕਿ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਈ॥

man bac karam agōcrā mati budh sādh ki sōjhī pāī॥

मन बच करम अगोचरा मति बुध साध कि सोझी पाई॥

Being beyond the ken of mind, speech, and action, the wisdom, intellect and all practices have also left hope of catching hold of Him.

ਅਛਲ ਅਛੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੈ ਭਗਤ ਵਛਲ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਛਾਈ॥

achhal achhēd abhēd hai bhagat vachhal sādh saṅgti chhāī॥

अछल अछेद अभेद है भगत वछल साध संगति छाई॥

Undeceivable, beyond time and non dual, the Lord is kind to devotees and pervades through the holy congregation.

ਵਡਾ ਆਪ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੧੬॥

vaḍā āp vaḍī vaḍiāī ॥16॥

वडा आप वडी वडिआई ॥१६॥

He is great and His grandeur is also great
