ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੁਝੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ

ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

धनासरी महला ५ ॥

Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl:

ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੁਝੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ॥

trisnā bujhai hari kai nāmi ॥

त्रिसना बुझै हरि कै नामि ॥

Desire is quenched, through the Lord's Name.

ਮਹਾ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

mahā santōkhu hōvai gur bacnī prabh siu lāgai pūran dhiānu ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

महा संतोखु होवै गुर बचनी प्रभ सिउ लागै पूरन धिआनु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Great peace and contentment come through the Guru's Word, and one's meditation is perfectly focused upon God. ||1||Pause||

ਮਹਾ ਕਲੋਲ ਬੁਝਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ॥

mahā kalōl bujhhi māiā kē kari kirpā mērē dīn daiāl ॥

महा कलोल बुझहि माइआ के करि किरपा मेरे दीन दइआल ॥

Please shower Your Mercy upon me, and permit me to ignore the great enticements of Maya, O Lord, Merciful to the meek.

ਅਪਣਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਘਾਲ ॥੧॥

apṇā nāmu dēhi japi jīvā pūran hōi dās kī ghāl ॥1॥

अपणा नामु देहि जपि जीवा पूरन होइ दास की घाल ॥१॥

Give me Your Name - chanting it, I live; please bring the efforts of Your slave to fruition. ||1||

ਸਰਬ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਰਾਜ ਸੂਖ ਰਸ ਸਦ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮ ॥

sarab manōrath rāj sūkh ras sad khusīā kīrtanu japi nām ॥

सरब मनोरथ राज सूख रस सद खुसीआ कीरतनु जपि नाम ॥

All desires, power, pleasure, joy and lasting bliss, are found by chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and singing the Kirtan of His Praises.

ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਕਰਮਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਕਰਤੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੨॥੨੦॥੫੧॥

jis kai karmi likhiā dhuri kartai nānak jan kē pūran kām ॥2॥20॥51॥

जिस कै करमि लिखिआ धुरि करतै नानक जन के पूरन काम ॥२॥२०॥५१॥

That humble servant of the Lord, who has such karma pre-ordained by the Creator Lord, O Nanak - his efforts are brought to perfect fruition. ||2||20||51||
