ਤੇਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਅਨੂਪ ਅਪਾਰ ਸੰਤਨ ਆਧਾਰ ਬਾਣੀ ਬੀਚਾਰੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥

tērē bachan anūp apār santan ādhār bāṇī bīchārīai jīu ॥

तेरे बचन अनूप अपार संतन आधार बाणी बीचारीऐ जीउ ॥

Your Word is Incomparable and Infinite. I contemplate the Word of Your Bani, the Support of the Saints.

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਿਸੁਆਸ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਬਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥

simrat sās girās pūran bisuās kiu manhu bisārīai jīu ॥

सिमरत सास गिरास पूरन बिसुआस किउ मनहु बिसारीऐ जीउ ॥

I remember Him in meditation with every breath and morsel of food, with perfect faith. How could I forget Him from my mind?

ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਬੇਸਾਰੀਐ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਹੀ ਟਾਰੀਐ ਗੁਣਵੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥

kiu manhu bēsārīai nimakh nahī ṭārīai guṇvant prān hamārē ॥

किउ मनहु बेसारीऐ निमख नही टारीऐ गुणवंत प्रान हमारे ॥

How could I forget Him from my mind, even for an instant? He is the Most Worthy; He is my very life!

ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਦੇਤ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਸਾਰੇ ॥

man bāñchhat phal dēt hai suāmī jīa kī birthā sārē ॥

मन बांछत फल देत है सुआमी जीअ की बिरथा सारे ॥

My Lord and Master is the Giver of the fruits of the mind's desires. He knows all the useless vanities and pains of the soul.

ਅਨਾਥ ਕੇ ਨਾਥੇ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਕੈ ਸਾਥੇ ਜਪਿ ਜੂਐ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਹਾਰੀਐ ॥

anāth kē nāthē srab kai sāthē japi jūai janmu na hārīai ॥

अनाथ के नाथे स्रब कै साथे जपि जूऐ जनमु न हारीऐ ॥

Meditating on the Patron of lost souls, the Companion of all, your life shall not be lost in the gamble.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਾਰੀਐ ॥੨॥

nānak kī bēnntī prabh pahi kripā kari bhavjalu tārīai ॥2॥

नानक की बेनंती प्रभ पहि क्रिपा करि भवजलु तारीऐ ॥२॥

Nanak offers this prayer to God: Please shower me with Your Mercy, and carry me across the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||
