ਸੰਤਾ ਨਾਲਿ ਵੈਰੁ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਦੁਸਟਾ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੋਹੁ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥

Third Mehl:

ਸੰਤਾ ਨਾਲਿ ਵੈਰੁ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਦੁਸਟਾ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੋਹੁ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥

santā nāli vairu kamāvdē dusṭā nāli mōhu piāru ॥

संता नालि वैरु कमावदे दुसटा नालि मोहु पिआरु ॥

They inflict their hatred upon the Saints, and they love the wicked sinners.

ਅਗੈ ਪਿਛੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰ ॥

agai pichhai sukhu nahī mari jammhi vārō vār ॥

अगै पिछै सुखु नही मरि जंमहि वारो वार ॥

They find no peace in either this world or the next; they are born only to die, again and again.

ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਬੁਝਈ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਹੋਇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥

trisnā kadē na bujhī dubidhā hōi khuāru ॥

त्रिसना कदे न बुझई दुबिधा होइ खुआरु ॥

Their hunger is never satisfied, and they are ruined by duality.

ਮੁਹ ਕਾਲੇ ਤਿਨਾ ਨਿੰਦਕਾ ਤਿਤੁ ਸਚੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥

muh kālē tinā nindkā titu sachai darbāri ॥

मुह काले तिना निंदका तितु सचै दरबारि ॥

The faces of these slanderers are blackened in the Court of the True Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ ਨਾ ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨॥

nānak nām vihūṇiā nā urvāri na pāri ॥2॥

नानक नाम विहूणिआ ना उरवारि न पारि ॥२॥

O Nanak, without the Naam, they find no shelter on either this shore, or the one beyond. ||2||
