ਸੁਣਿ ਸਖੀਏ ਮਿਲਿ ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰੇਹਾ ਮਨਾਇ ਲੈਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤੈ ॥

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਸੁਣਿ ਸਖੀਏ ਮਿਲਿ ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰੇਹਾ ਮਨਾਇ ਲੈਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤੈ ॥

suṇi sakhīē mili udmu karēhā manāi laihi hari kantai ॥

सुणि सखीए मिलि उदमु करेहा मनाइ लैहि हरि कंतै ॥

Listen, O my companions: let's join together and make the effort, to surrender to our Husband Lord.

ਮਾਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਕਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਮੋਹਹ ਸਾਧੂ ਮੰਤੈ ॥

mānu tiāgi kari bhagti ṭhagaurī mōhah sādhū mantai ॥

मानु तिआगि करि भगति ठगउरी मोहह साधू मंतै ॥

Renouncing our pride, let's charm Him with the potion of devotional worship, and the mantra of the Holy Saints.

ਸਖੀ ਵਸਿ ਆਇਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਇਹ ਰੀਤਿ ਭਲੀ ਭਗਵੰਤੈ ॥

sakhī vasi āiā phiri chhōḍi na jāī ih rīti bhalī bhagvantai ॥

सखी वसि आइआ फिरि छोडि न जाई इह रीति भली भगवंतै ॥

O my companions, when He comes under our power, He shall never leave us again. This is the good nature of the Lord God.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਰਾ ਮਰਣ ਭੈ ਨਰਕ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕਰੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਜੰਤੈ ॥੧॥

nānak jarā maraṇ bhai narak nivārai punīt karai tisu jantai ॥1॥

नानक जरा मरण भै नरक निवारै पुनीत करै तिसु जंतै ॥१॥

O Nanak, God dispels the fear of old age, death and hell; He purifies His beings. ||1||

ਸੁਣਿ ਸਖੀਏ ਇਹ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਨੰਤੀ ਏਹੁ ਮਤਾਂਤੁ ਪਕਾਈਐ ॥

suṇi sakhīē ih bhalī binntī ēhu matāntu pakāīai ॥

सुणि सखीए इह भली बिनंती एहु मतांतु पकाईऐ ॥

Listen, O my companions, to my sincere prayer: let's make this firm resolve.

ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਉਪਾਧਿ ਰਹਤ ਹੋਇ ਗੀਤ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਹਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥

sahji subhāi upādhi rahat hōi gīt gōvindhi gāīai ॥

सहजि सुभाइ उपाधि रहत होइ गीत गोविंदहि गाईऐ ॥

In the peaceful poise of intuitive bliss, violence will be gone, as we sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.

ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥

kali kalēs miṭhi bhram nāsahi mani chindiā phalu pāīai ॥

कलि कलेस मिटहि भ्रम नासहि मनि चिंदिआ फलु पाईऐ ॥

Our pains and troubles shall be eradicated, and our doubts shall be dispelled; we will receive the fruits of our minds' desires.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੨॥

pārbraham pūran parmēsar nānak nāmu dhiāīai ॥2॥

पारब्रहम पूरन परमेसर नानक नामु धिआईऐ ॥२॥

O Nanak, meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Supreme Lord God, the Perfect, Transcendent Lord. ||2||

ਸਖੀ ਇਛ ਕਰੀ ਨਿਤ ਸੁਖ ਮਨਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਪੁਜਾਏ ॥

sakhī ichh karī nit sukh manāī prabh mērī ās pujāē ॥

सखी इछ करी नित सुख मनाई प्रभ मेरी आस पुजाए ॥

O my companions, I yearn for Him continually; I invoke His Blessings, and pray that God may fulfill my hopes.

ਚਰਨ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਦਰਸ ਬੈਰਾਗਨਿ ਪੇਖਉ ਥਾਨ ਸਬਾਏ ॥

charan piāsī daras bairāgni pēkhau thān sabāē ॥

चरन पिआसी दरस बैरागनि पेखउ थान सबाए ॥

I thirst for His Feet, and I long for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; I look for Him everywhere.

ਖੋਜਿ ਲਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਿਥ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥

khōji lahau hari sant janā saṅgu sammrith purakh milāē ॥

खोजि लहउ हरि संत जना संगु संम्रिथ पुरख मिलाए ॥

I search for traces of the Lord in the Society of the Saints; they will unite me with the All-powerful Primal Lord God.

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਰਿਜਨੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਾਏ ॥੩॥

nānak tin miliā surijnu sukhdātā sē vaḍbhāgī māē ॥3॥

नानक तिन मिलिआ सुरिजनु सुखदाता से वडभागी माए ॥३॥

O Nanak, those humble, noble beings who meet the Lord, the Giver of peace, are very blessed, O my mother. ||3||

ਸਖੀ ਨਾਲਿ ਵਸਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਨਾਹ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਿਲਿਆ ॥

sakhī nāli vasā apunē nāh piārē mērā manu tanu hari saṅgi hiliā ॥

सखी नालि वसा अपुने नाह पिआरे मेरा मनु तनु हरि संगि हिलिआ ॥

O my companions, now I dwell with my Beloved Husband; my mind and body are attuned to the Lord.

ਸੁਣਿ ਸਖੀਏ ਮੇਰੀ ਨੀਦ ਭਲੀ ਮੈ ਆਪਨੜਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ॥

suṇi sakhīē mērī nīd bhalī mai āpnaṛā piru miliā ॥

सुणि सखीए मेरी नीद भली मै आपनड़ा पिरु मिलिआ ॥

Listen, O my companions: now I sleep well, since I found my Husband Lord.

ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਖੋਇਓ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਭਇਆ ਕਉਲੁ ਖਿਲਿਆ ॥

bhramu khōiō sānti sahji suāmī pargāsu bhaiā kaulu khiliā ॥

भ्रमु खोइओ सांति सहजि सुआमी परगासु भइआ कउलु खिलिआ ॥

My doubts have been dispelled, and I have found intuitive peace and tranquility through my Lord and Master. I have been enlightened, and my heart-lotus has blossomed forth.

ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਨ ਟਲਿਆ ॥੪॥੪॥੨॥੫॥੧੧॥

varu pāiā prabhu antrajāmī nānak sōhāgu na ṭaliā ॥4॥4॥2॥5॥11॥

वरु पाइआ प्रभु अंतरजामी नानक सोहागु न टलिआ ॥४॥४॥२॥५॥११॥

I have obtained God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, as my Husband; O Nanak, my marriage shall last forever. ||4||4||2||5||11||
