ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਦੁਖ ਛਡਕੈ ਭਵਜਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਭੰਭਲ ਭੂਸੇ॥

ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਦੁਖ ਛਡਕੈ ਭਵਜਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਭੰਭਲ ਭੂਸੇ॥

sukh sāgar dukh chhaḍkai bhavjal andar bhambhal bhūsē॥

सुख सागर दुख छडकै भवजल अंदर भंभल भूसे॥

Leaving the Guru, the Pleasure Ocean, one tosses up and down in the world-ocean of delusions and deceptions.

ਲਹਿਰੀਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਛਾੜੀਅਨਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਅਗਨੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੂਸੈ॥

lahirīṃ nāl pachhāṛīni haumai agnī andar lūsai॥

लहिरीं नाल पछाड़ीअनि हउमै अगनी अंदर लूसै॥

The stroke of the waves of the world-ocean tosses and the fire of ego continuously burns the inner self.

ਜਮ ਦਰ ਬੱਧੇ ਮਾਰੀਅਨਿ ਜਮ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਧੱਕੇ ਧੂਸੇ॥

jam dar baddhē mārīni jam dūtāṃ dē dhakkē dhūsē॥

जम दर बॱधे मारीअनि जम दूतां दे धॱके धूसे॥

Tied and beaten at the door of death, one receives the kicks of the messengers of death.

ਗੋਇਲ ਵਾਸਾ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਨ ਨਾਉਂ ਧਰਾਇਨ ਈਸੇ ਮੂਸੇ॥

gōil vāsā chār din nāuṃ dharāin īsē mūsē॥

गोइल वासा चार दिन नाउं धराइन ईसे मूसे॥

May be some one has named himself after Christ or Moses, but in this world all are to stay for a few days.

ਘਟ ਨ ਖੋਇ ਅਖਾਇੰਦਾ ਆਪੋ ਧਾਪੀ ਹੈਰ ਤ ਹੂਸੇ॥

ghaṭ na khōi akhāindā āpō dhāpī hair ta hūsē॥

घट न खोइ अखाइंदा आपो धापी हैर त हूसे॥

Here none deems himself lesser one and all are engrossed in the rat race for selfish ends to find themselves shocked ultimately.

ਸਾਇਰ ਦੇ ਮਰ ਜੀਵੜੇ ਕਰਨ ਮਜੂਰੀ ਖੇਚਲ ਖੂਸੇ॥

sāir dē mar jīvaṛē karan majūrī khēchal khūsē॥

साइर दे मर जीवड़े करन मजूरी खेचल खूसे॥

Those who are divers of the pleasure-ocean existing in the form of Guru, only they remain happy in the labour (of spiritual discipline).

ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਵਿਣ ਡਾਂਗ ਡੰਗੂਸੇ ॥੧੩॥

gur pūrē viṇ ḍāṅg ḍaṅgūsē ॥13॥

गुर पूरे विण डांग डंगूसे ॥१३॥

Without the true Guru, all are always at loggerheads.
