ਸਗਲ ਸੂਖ ਜਪਿ ਏਕੈ ਨਾਮ ॥

आसा महला ५ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਗਲ ਸੂਖ ਜਪਿ ਏਕੈ ਨਾਮ ॥

sagal sūkh japi ēkai nām ॥

सगल सूख जपि एकै नाम ॥

All peace and comforts are in the meditation of the One Name.

ਸਗਲ ਧਰਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਮ ॥

sagal dharam hari kē guṇ gām ॥

सगल धरम हरि के गुण गाम ॥

All righteous actions of Dharma are in the singing of the Lord's Glorious Praises.

ਮਹਾ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਧ ਕਾ ਸੰਗੁ ॥

mahā pavitr sādh kā saṅgu ॥

महा पवित्र साध का संगु ॥

The Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, is so very pure and sacred.

ਜਿਸੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਲਾਗੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰੰਗੁ ॥੧॥

jisu bhēṭat lāgai prabh raṅgu ॥1॥

जिसु भेटत लागै प्रभ रंगु ॥१॥

Meeting with them, love for God is embraced. ||1||

ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਓਇ ਆਨੰਦ ਪਾਵੈ ॥

gur prasādi ōi ānand pāvai ॥

गुर प्रसादि ओइ आनंद पावै ॥

By Guru's Grace, bliss is obtained.

ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

jisu simrat mani hōi pragāsā tā kī gati miti kahnu na jāvai ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

जिसु सिमरत मनि होइ प्रगासा ता की गति मिति कहनु न जावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Meditating upon Him in remembrance, the mind is illumined; his state and condition cannot be described. ||1||Pause||

ਵਰਤ ਨੇਮ ਮਜਨ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਜਾ ॥

varat nēm majan tisu pūjā ॥

वरत नेम मजन तिसु पूजा ॥

Fasts, religious vows, cleansing baths, and worship to Him;

ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸੁਨੀਜਾ ॥

bēd purān tini simmriti sunījā ॥

बेद पुरान तिनि सिंम्रिति सुनीजा ॥

Listening to the Vedas, Puraanas, and Shaastras.

ਮਹਾ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਥਾਨੁ ॥

mahā punīt jā kā nirmal thānu ॥

महा पुनीत जा का निरमल थानु ॥

Extremely pure is he, and immaculate is his place,

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੨॥

sādhsaṅgti jā kai hari hari nāmu ॥2॥

साधसंगति जा कै हरि हरि नामु ॥२॥

Who meditates upon the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, in the Saadh Sangat. ||2||

ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਸਗਲੇ ਭਵਨ ॥

pragṭiō sō janu saglē bhavan ॥

प्रगटिओ सो जनु सगले भवन ॥

That humble being becomes renowned all over the world.

ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪਗ ਰੇਨ ॥

patit punīt tā kī pag rēn ॥

पतित पुनीत ता की पग रेन ॥

Even sinners are purified, by the dust of his feet.

ਜਾ ਕਉ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥

jā kau bhēṭiō hari hari rāi ॥

जा कउ भेटिओ हरि हरि राइ ॥

One who has met the Lord, the Lord our King,

ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥

tā kī gati miti kathnu na jāi ॥3॥

ता की गति मिति कथनु न जाइ ॥३॥

His condition and state cannot be described. ||3||

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥

āṭh pahar kar jōṛi dhiāvau ॥

आठ पहर कर जोड़ि धिआवउ ॥

Twenty-four hours a day, with palms pressed together, I meditate;

ਉਨ ਸਾਧਾ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥

un sādhā kā darsanu pāvau ॥

उन साधा का दरसनु पावउ ॥

I yearn to obtain the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of those Holy Saints.

ਮੋਹਿ ਗਰੀਬ ਕਉ ਲੇਹੁ ਰਲਾਇ ॥

mōhi garīb kau lēhu ralāi ॥

मोहि गरीब कउ लेहु रलाइ ॥

Merge me, the poor one, with You, O Lord;

ਨਾਨਕ ਆਇ ਪਏ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥੪॥੩੮॥੮੯॥

nānak āi paē sarṇāi ॥4॥38॥89॥

नानक आइ पए सरणाइ ॥४॥३८॥८९॥

Nanak has come to Your Sanctuary. ||4||38||89||
