ਸਗਲ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਛਾਡਿ ॥

Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਗਲ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਛਾਡਿ ॥

sagal siānap chhāḍi ॥

सगल सिआनप छाडि ॥

Abandon all your clever tricks.

ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਾਜਿ ॥

kari sēvā sēvak sāji ॥

करि सेवा सेवक साजि ॥

Become His servant, and serve Him.

ਅਪਨਾ ਆਪੁ ਸਗਲ ਮਿਟਾਇ ॥

apnā āpu sagal miṭāi ॥

अपना आपु सगल मिटाइ ॥

Totally erase your self-conceit.

ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦੇ ਸੇਈ ਫਲ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥

man chindē sēī phal pāi ॥1॥

मन चिंदे सेई फल पाइ ॥१॥

You shall obtain the fruits of your mind's desires. ||1||

ਹੋਹੁ ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ॥

hōhu sāvdhān apunē gur siu ॥

होहु सावधान अपुने गुर सिउ ॥

Be awake and aware with your Guru.

ਆਸਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

āsā mansā pūran hōvai pāvahi sagal nidhān gur siu ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

आसा मनसा पूरन होवै पावहि सगल निधान गुर सिउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Your hopes and desires shall be fulfilled, and you shall obtain all treasures from the Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੋਇ ॥

dūjā nahī jānai kōi ॥

दूजा नही जानै कोइ ॥

Let no one think that God and Guru are separate.

ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੋਇ ॥

satguru nirñjanu sōi ॥

सतगुरु निरंजनु सोइ ॥

The True Guru is the Immaculate Lord.

ਮਾਨੁਖ ਕਾ ਕਰਿ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਜਾਨੁ ॥

mānukh kā kari rūpu na jānu ॥

मानुख का करि रूपु न जानु ॥

Do not believe that He is a mere human being;

ਮਿਲੀ ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੨॥

milī nimānē mānu ॥2॥

मिली निमाने मानु ॥२॥

He gives honor to the dishonored. ||2||

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਟੇਕ ਟਿਕਾਇ ॥

gur kī hari ṭēk ṭikāi ॥

गुर की हरि टेक टिकाइ ॥

Hold tight to the Support of the Guru, the Lord.

ਅਵਰ ਆਸਾ ਸਭ ਲਾਹਿ ॥

avar āsā sabh lāhi ॥

अवर आसा सभ लाहि ॥

Give up all other hopes.

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਾਗੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥

hari kā nāmu māgu nidhānu ॥

हरि का नामु मागु निधानु ॥

Ask for the treasure of the Name of the Lord,

ਤਾ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੩॥

tā dargah pāvahi mānu ॥3॥

ता दरगह पावहि मानु ॥३॥

And then you shall be honored in the Court of the Lord. ||3||

ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਜਪਿ ਮੰਤੁ ॥

gur kā bacnu japi mantu ॥

गुर का बचनु जपि मंतु ॥

Chant the Mantra of the Guru's Word.

ਏਹਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਾਰ ਤਤੁ ॥

ēhā bhagti sār tatu ॥

एहा भगति सार ततु ॥

This is the essence of true devotional worship.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ॥

satigur bhaē daiāl ॥

सतिगुर भए दइआल ॥

When the True Guru becomes merciful,

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੪॥੨੮॥੩੯॥

nānak dās nihāl ॥4॥28॥39॥

नानक दास निहाल ॥४॥२८॥३९॥

Slave Nanak is enraptured. ||4||28||39||
