ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥

Pauree:

ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥

sadā sadā tūṃ ēku hai tudhu dūjā khēlu rachāiā ॥

सदा सदा तूं एकु है तुधु दूजा खेलु रचाइआ ॥

Forever and ever, You are the only One; You set the play of duality in motion.

ਹਉਮੈ ਗਰਬੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਲੋਭੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੰਤਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

haumai garbu upāi kai lōbhu antri jantā pāiā ॥

हउमै गरबु उपाइ कै लोभु अंतरि जंता पाइआ ॥

You created egotism and arrogant pride, and You placed greed within our beings.

ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਖੁ ਤੂ ਸਭ ਕਰੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥

jiu bhāvai tiu rakhu tū sabh karē tērā karāiā ॥

जिउ भावै तिउ रखु तू सभ करे तेरा कराइआ ॥

Keep me as it pleases Your Will; everyone acts as You cause them to act.

ਇਕਨਾ ਬਖਸਹਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਤੁਧੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥

iknā bakhsahi mēli laihi gurmatī tudhai lāiā ॥

इकना बखसहि मेलि लैहि गुरमती तुधै लाइआ ॥

Some are forgiven, and merge with You; through the Guru's Teachings, we are joined to You.

ਇਕਿ ਖੜੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਭਾਇਆ ॥

iki khaṛē karahi tērī chākrī viṇu nāvai hōru na bhāiā ॥

इकि खड़े करहि तेरी चाकरी विणु नावै होरु न भाइआ ॥

Some stand and serve You; without the Name, nothing else pleases them.

ਹੋਰੁ ਕਾਰ ਵੇਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਇਕਿ ਸਚੀ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥

hōru kār vēkār hai iki sachī kārai lāiā ॥

होरु कार वेकार है इकि सची कारै लाइआ ॥

Any other task would be worthless to them-You have enjoined them to Your True Service.

ਪੁਤੁ ਕਲਤੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਹੈ ਇਕਿ ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਰਹੇ ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਇਆ ॥

putu kaltu kuṭmbu hai iki aliptu rahē jō tudhu bhāiā ॥

पुतु कलतु कुटंबु है इकि अलिपतु रहे जो तुधु भाइआ ॥

In the midst of children, spouse and relations, some still remain detached; they are pleasing to Your Will.

ਓਹਿ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਬਾਹਰਹੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੇ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਇ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥

ōhi andrahu bāhrahu nirmalē sachai nāi samāiā ॥3॥

ओहि अंदरहु बाहरहु निरमले सचै नाइ समाइआ ॥३॥

Inwardly and outwardly, they are pure, and they are absorbed in the True Name. ||3||
