Saarang, Chhant, Fifth Mehl:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ik-ōṅkār satigur prasādi ॥

ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਸਭ ਦੇਖੀਐ ਅਨਭੈ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥

sabh dēkhīai anbhai kā dātā ॥

सभ देखीऐ अनभै का दाता ॥

See the Giver of fearlessness in all.

ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ ਅਲਿਪਾਤਾ ॥

ghaṭi ghaṭi pūran hai alipātā ॥

घटि घटि पूरन है अलिपाता ॥

The Detached Lord is totally permeating each and every heart.

ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਸਥੀਰਨੁ ਜਲ ਤਰੰਗ ਜਿਉ ਰਚਨੁ ਕੀਆ ॥

ghaṭi ghaṭi pūrnu kari bisthīrnu jal taraṅg jiu racnu kīā ॥

घटि घटि पूरनु करि बिसथीरनु जल तरंग जिउ रचनु कीआ ॥

Like waves in the water, He created the creation.

ਹਭਿ ਰਸ ਮਾਣੇ ਭੋਗ ਘਟਾਣੇ ਆਨ ਨ ਬੀਆ ਕੋ ਥੀਆ ॥

habhi ras māṇē bhōg ghaṭāṇē ān na bīā kō thīā ॥

हभि रस माणे भोग घटाणे आन न बीआ को थीआ ॥

He enjoys all tastes, and takes pleasure in all hearts. There is no other like Him at all.

ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੀ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੀ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਤਾ ॥

hari raṅgī ik raṅgī ṭhākuru santsaṅgi prabhu jātā ॥

हरि रंगी इक रंगी ठाकुरु संतसंगि प्रभु जाता ॥

The color of the Lord's Love is the one color of our Lord and Master; in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, God is realized.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸਿ ਲੀਨਾ ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਮੀਨਾ ਸਭ ਦੇਖੀਐ ਅਨਭੈ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥੧॥

nānak darsi līnā jiu jal mīnā sabh dēkhīai anbhai kā dātā ॥1॥

नानक दरसि लीना जिउ जल मीना सभ देखीऐ अनभै का दाता ॥१॥

O Nanak, I am drenched with the Blessed Vision of the Lord, like the fish in the water. I see the Giver of fearlessness in all. ||1||

ਕਉਨ ਉਪਮਾ ਦੇਉ ਕਵਨ ਬਡਾਈ ॥

kaun upmā dēu kavan baḍāī ॥

कउन उपमा देउ कवन बडाई ॥

What praises should I give, and what approval should I offer to Him?

ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਠਾਈ ॥

pūran pūri rahiō srab ṭhāī ॥

पूरन पूरि रहिओ स्रब ठाई ॥

The Perfect Lord is totally pervading and permeating all places.

ਪੂਰਨ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਸੋਹਨ ਜਬ ਖਿੰਚੈ ਤਬ ਛਾਈ ॥

pūran manmōhan ghaṭ ghaṭ sōhan jab khiñchai tab chhāī ॥

पूरन मनमोहन घट घट सोहन जब खिंचै तब छाई ॥

The Perfect Enticing Lord adorns each and every heart. When He withdraws, the mortal turns to dust.

ਕਿਉ ਨ ਅਰਾਧਹੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਾਧਹੁ ਘਰੀ ਮੁਹਤਕ ਬੇਲਾ ਆਈ ॥

kiu na arādhhu mili kari sādhhu gharī muhtak bēlā āī ॥

किउ न अराधहु मिलि करि साधहु घरी मुहतक बेला आई ॥

Why do you not worship and adore Him? Join together with the Holy Saints; any instant, your time shall come.

ਅਰਥੁ ਦਰਬੁ ਸਭੁ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਕਛਹੂ ਜਾਈ ॥

arthu darbu sabhu jō kichhu dīsai saṅgi na kachhahū jāī ॥

अरथु दरबु सभु जो किछु दीसै संगि न कछहू जाई ॥

All your property and wealth, and all that you see - none of it will go along with you.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧਹੁ ਕਵਨ ਉਪਮਾ ਦੇਉ ਕਵਨ ਬਡਾਈ ॥੨॥

kahu nānak hari hari ārādhhu kavan upmā dēu kavan baḍāī ॥2॥

कहु नानक हरि हरि आराधहु कवन उपमा देउ कवन बडाई ॥२॥

Says Nanak, worship and adore the Lord, Har, Har. What praise, and what approval, can I offer to Him? ||2||

ਪੂਛਉ ਸੰਤ ਮੇਰੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕੈਸਾ ॥

pūchhhau sant mērō ṭhākuru kaisā ॥

पूछउ संत मेरो ठाकुरु कैसा ॥

I ask the Saints, what is my Lord and Master like?

ਹੀਉ ਅਰਾਪਉਂ ਦੇਹੁ ਸਦੇਸਾ ॥

haṃīu arāpauṃ dēhu sadēsā ॥

हंØीउ अरापउं देहु सदेसा ॥

I offer my heart, to one who brings me news of Him.

ਦੇਹੁ ਸਦੇਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਕੈਸਾ ਕਹ ਮੋਹਨ ਪਰਵੇਸਾ ॥

dēhu sadēsā prabh jīu kaisā kah mōhan parvēsā ॥

देहु सदेसा प्रभ जीउ कैसा कह मोहन परवेसा ॥

Give me news of my Dear God; where does the Enticer live?

ਅੰਗ ਅੰਗ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਈ ਥਾਨ ਥਾਨੰਤਰ ਦੇਸਾ ॥

aṅg aṅg sukhdāī pūran brahmāī thān thānntar dēsā ॥

अंग अंग सुखदाई पूरन ब्रहमाई थान थानंतर देसा ॥

He is the Giver of peace to life and limb; God is totally permeating all places, interspaces and countries.

ਬੰਧਨ ਤੇ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਜੁਗਤਾ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਜੈਸਾ ॥

bandhan tē muktā ghaṭi ghaṭi jugtā kahi na sakau hari jaisā ॥

बंधन ते मुकता घटि घटि जुगता कहि न सकउ हरि जैसा ॥

He is liberated from bondage, joined to each and every heart. I cannot say what the Lord is like.

ਦੇਖਿ ਚਰਿਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਪੂਛੈ ਦੀਨੁ ਮੇਰੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕੈਸਾ ॥੩॥

dēkhi charit nānak manu mōhiō pūchhhai dīnu mērō ṭhākuru kaisā ॥3॥

देखि चरित नानक मनु मोहिओ पूछै दीनु मेरो ठाकुरु कैसा ॥३॥

Gazing upon His wondrous play, O Nanak, my mind is fascinated. I humbly ask, what is my Lord and Master like? ||3||

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਪਹਿ ਆਇਆ ॥

kari kirpā apunē pahi āiā ॥

करि किरपा अपुने पहि आइआ ॥

In His Kindness, He has come to His humble servant.

ਧੰਨਿ ਸੁ ਰਿਦਾ ਜਿਹ ਚਰਨ ਬਸਾਇਆ ॥

dhanni su ridā jih charan basāiā ॥

धंनि सु रिदा जिह चरन बसाइआ ॥

Blessed is that heart, in which the Lord's Feet are enshrined.

ਚਰਨ ਬਸਾਇਆ ਸੰਤ ਸੰਗਾਇਆ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥

charan basāiā sant saṅgāiā agiān andhēru gavāiā ॥

चरन बसाइआ संत संगाइआ अगिआन अंधेरु गवाइआ ॥

His Feet are enshrined within, in the Society of the Saints; the darkness of ignorance is dispelled.

ਭਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਉਲਾਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲੋੜੀਦਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

bhaiā pragāsu ridai ulāsu prabhu lōṛīdā pāiā ॥

भइआ प्रगासु रिदै उलासु प्रभु लोड़ीदा पाइआ ॥

The heart is enlightened and illumined and enraptured; God has been found.

ਦੁਖੁ ਨਾਠਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਵੂਠਾ ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਸਹਜਾਇਆ ॥

dukhu nāṭhā sukhu ghar mahi vūṭhā mahā anand sahjāiā ॥

दुखु नाठा सुखु घर महि वूठा महा अनंद सहजाइआ ॥

Pain is gone, and peace has come to my house. The ultimate intuitive peace prevails.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਪਹਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੧॥

kahu nānak mai pūrā pāiā kari kirpā apunē pahi āiā ॥4॥1॥

कहु नानक मै पूरा पाइआ करि किरपा अपुने पहि आइआ ॥४॥१॥

Says Nanak, I have found the Perfect Lord; in His Kindness, He has come to His humble servant. ||4||1||

I offer my heart, to one who brings me news of Him.

ਦੇਹੁ ਸਦੇਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਕੈਸਾ ਕਹ ਮੋਹਨ ਪਰਵੇਸਾ ॥

dēhu sadēsā prabh jīu kaisā kah mōhan parvēsā ॥

देहु सदेसा प्रभ जीउ कैसा कह मोहन परवेसा ॥
