ਸੋਇ ਰਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਖਬਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥

आसा महला ५ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਸੋਇ ਰਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਖਬਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥

sōi rahī prabh khabri na jānī ॥

सोइ रही प्रभ खबरि न जानी ॥

She remains asleep, and does not know the news of God.

ਭੋਰੁ ਭਇਆ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਨੀ ॥੧॥

bhōru bhaiā bahuri pachhutānī ॥1॥

भोरु भइआ बहुरि पछुतानी ॥१॥

The day dawns, and then, she regrets. ||1||

ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਧਰਉ ਰੀ ॥

pria prēm sahji mani andu dharau rī ॥

प्रिअ प्रेम सहजि मनि अनदु धरउ री ॥

Loving the Beloved, the mind is filled with celestial bliss.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਆਲਸੁ ਕਹਾ ਕਰਉ ਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

prabh milbē kī lālsā tā tē ālsu kahā karau rī ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

प्रभ मिलबे की लालसा ता ते आलसु कहा करउ री ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

You yearn to meet with God, so why do you delay? ||1||Pause||

ਕਰ ਮਹਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਆਣਿ ਨਿਸਾਰਿਓ ॥

kar mahi ammritu āṇi nisāriō ॥

कर महि अंम्रितु आणि निसारिओ ॥

He came and poured His Ambrosial Nectar into your hands,

ਖਿਸਰਿ ਗਇਓ ਭੂਮ ਪਰਿ ਡਾਰਿਓ ॥੨॥

khisri gaiō bhūm pari ḍāriō ॥2॥

खिसरि गइओ भूम परि डारिओ ॥२॥

But it slipped through your fingers, and fell onto the ground. ||2||

ਸਾਦਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਲਾਦੀ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੇ ॥

sādi mōhi lādī ahaṅkārē ॥

सादि मोहि लादी अहंकारे ॥

You are burdened with desire, emotional attachment and egotism;

ਦੋਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੇ ॥੩॥

dōsu nāhī prabh karṇaihārē ॥3॥

दोसु नाही प्रभ करणैहारे ॥३॥

It is not the fault of God the Creator. ||3||

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟੇ ਭਰਮ ਅੰਧਾਰੇ ॥

sādhsaṅgi miṭē bharam andhārē ॥

साधसंगि मिटे भरम अंधारे ॥

In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the darkness of doubt is dispelled.

ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਲੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੨੫॥੭੬॥

nānak mēlī sirjaṇhārē ॥4॥25॥76॥

नानक मेली सिरजणहारे ॥४॥२५॥७६॥

O Nanak, the Creator Lord blends us with Himself. ||4||25||76||
