ਸੋ ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਜੋ ਖਸਮੈ ਭਾਵੈ ॥

  2. ਸੋ ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਜੋ ਖਸਮੈ ਭਾਵੈ ॥

    sō japu tapu sēvā chākrī jō khasmai bhāvai ॥

    सो जपु तपु सेवा चाकरी जो खसमै भावै ॥

    That is chanting and meditation, work and selfless service, which is pleasing to our Lord and Master.

  3. ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ਆਪਤੁ ਗਵਾਵੈ ॥

    āpē bakhsē mēli laē āptu gavāvai ॥

    आपे बखसे मेलि लए आपतु गवावै ॥

    The Lord Himself forgives, and takes away self-conceit, and unites the mortals with Himself.

  4. ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵੀਛੁੜੈ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥

    miliā kadē na vīchhuṛai jōtī jōti milāvai ॥

    मिलिआ कदे न वीछुड़ै जोती जोति मिलावै ॥

    United with the Lord, the mortal is never separated again; his light merges into the Light.

  5. ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸੋ ਬੁਝਸੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਵੈ ॥੨॥

    nānak gur parsādī sō bujhsī jisu āpi bujhāvai ॥2॥

    नानक गुर परसादी सो बुझसी जिसु आपि बुझावै ॥२॥

    O Nanak, by Guru's Grace, the mortal understands, when the Lord allows him to understand. ||2||
