ਸਿਧੀਂ ਮਨੇ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਆ ਕਿਵ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਏਹ ਲੇਵੇ ਬਾਲਾ॥

ਸਿਧੀਂ ਮਨੇ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਆ ਕਿਵ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਏਹ ਲੇਵੇ ਬਾਲਾ॥

sidhīṃ manē bichāriā kiv darshan ēh lēvē bālā॥

सिधीं मने बिचारिआ किव दरशन एह लेवे बाला॥

The siddhs thought in their mind that this body should in all circumstances Adopt philosophy of yoga.

ਐਸਾ ਜੋਗੀ ਕਲੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਹਮਰੇ ਪੰਥ ਕਰੇ ਉਜਿਆਲਾ॥

aisā jōgī kalī māhi hamrē panth karē ujiālā॥

ऐसा जोगी कली माहि हमरे पंथ करे उजिआला॥

Such a yogi in kaliyug, will brighten the name of our sect.

ਖੱਪਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਨਾਥ ਜੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰ ਲੈਵਣ ਉਠ ਚਾਲਾ॥

khappar ditā nāth jī pāṇī bhar laivaṇ uṭh chālā॥

खॱपर दिता नाथ जी पाणी भर लैवण उठ चाला॥

One of the Naths, gave him a begging bowl to fetch water.

ਬਾਬਾ ਆਇਆ ਪਾਣੀਐ ਡਿਠੇ ਰਤਨ ਜਵਾਹਰ ਲਾਲਾ॥

bābā āiā pāṇīai ḍiṭhē ratan javāhar lālā॥

बाबा आइआ पाणीऐ डिठे रतन जवाहर लाला॥

When Baba came to the stream for water, he saw rubies and jewels in it.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਝਲੇ ਗੁਰ ਦੀ ਝਾਲਾ॥

satigur agam agādh purakh kēhṛā jhalē gur dī jhālā॥

सतिगुर अगम अगाध पुरख केहड़ा झले गुर दी झाला॥

This true Guru (Nanak) was unfathomable supreme purusa and who could bear with his effulgence.

ਫਿਰ ਆਯਾ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਥ ਜੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਠਉੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਤਾਲਾ॥

phir āyā gur nāth jī pāṇī ṭhauṛ nahīṃ us tālā॥

फिर आया गुर नाथ जी पाणी ठउड़ नहीं उस ताला॥

He (remaining uninfluenced) returned to the group and said, O Nath, in that stream there is no water.

ਸ਼ਬਦ ਜਿਤੀ ਸਿਧ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਕੀਤੋਸੁ ਅਪਣਾ ਪੰਥ ਨਿਰਾਲਾ॥

shabad jitī sidh maṇḍlī kītōsu apṇā panth nirālā॥

शबद जिती सिध मंडली कीतोसु अपणा पंथ निराला॥

Through (the power of the word) Shabad he conquered the siddhs and propounded his altogether new way of life.

ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਖਾਲਾ ॥੩੧॥

kalijug nānak nām sukhālā ॥31॥

कलिजुग नानक नाम सुखाला ॥३१॥

In Kaliyug, instead of yogic exercises the name of the Lord who is beyond all sufferings (Nanak) is the only source of delight.
