Soohee, Fifth Mehl, Third House:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ik-ōṅkār satigur prasādi ॥

ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਸੇਵਾ ਥੋਰੀ ਮਾਗਨੁ ਬਹੁਤਾ ॥

sēvā thōrī māgnu bahutā ॥

सेवा थोरी मागनु बहुता ॥

His service is insignificant, but his demands are very great.

ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਕਹਤੋ ਪਹੁਤਾ ॥੧॥

mahlu na pāvai kahtō pahutā ॥1॥

महलु न पावै कहतो पहुता ॥१॥

He does not obtain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, but he says that he has arrived there||1||

ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਮਾਨੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਰੀਸਾ ॥

jō pria mānē tin kī rīsā ॥

जो प्रिअ माने तिन की रीसा ॥

He competes with those who have been accepted by the Beloved Lord.

ਕੂੜੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਕੀ ਹਾਠੀਸਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kūṛē mūrakh kī hāṭhīsā ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

कूड़े मूरख की हाठीसा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

This is how stubborn the false fool is! ||1||Pause||

ਭੇਖ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ਸਚੁ ਨ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥

bhēkh dikhāvai sachu na kamāvai ॥

भेख दिखावै सचु न कमावै ॥

He wears religious robes, but he does not practice Truth.

ਕਹਤੋ ਮਹਲੀ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੨॥

kahtō mahlī nikṭi na āvai ॥2॥

कहतो महली निकटि न आवै ॥२॥

He says that he has found the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, but he cannot even get near it. ||2||

ਅਤੀਤੁ ਸਦਾਏ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਮਾਤਾ ॥

atītu sadāē māiā kā mātā ॥

अतीतु सदाए माइआ का माता ॥

He says that he is unattached, but he is intoxicated with Maya.

ਮਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਹੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੩॥

mani nahī prīti kahai mukhi rātā ॥3॥

मनि नही प्रीति कहै मुखि राता ॥३॥

There is no love in his mind, and yet he says that he is imbued with the Lord. ||3||

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨਉ ਸੁਨੀਜੈ ॥

kahu nānak prabh binau sunījai ॥

कहु नानक प्रभ बिनउ सुनीजै ॥

Says Nanak, hear my prayer, God:

ਕੁਚਲੁ ਕਠੋਰੁ ਕਾਮੀ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੪॥

kuclu kaṭhōru kāmī muktu kījai ॥4॥

कुचलु कठोरु कामी मुकतु कीजै ॥४॥

I am silly, stubborn and filled with sexual desire - please, liberate me! ||4||

ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਖੇ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥

darsan dēkhē kī vaḍiāī ॥

दरसन देखे की वडिआई ॥

I gaze upon the glorious greatness of the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.

ਤੁਮ੍‍ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੁਭਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੭॥

tum‍ sukhdātē purakh subhāī ॥1॥ rahāu dūjā ॥1॥7॥

तुम्‍ सुखदाते पुरख सुभाई ॥१॥ रहाउ दूजा ॥१॥७॥

You are the Giver of Peace, the Loving Primal Being. ||1||Second Pause||1||7||
