Third Mehl:

ਸਹਜੇ ਜਾਗੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਸੋਵੈ ॥

sahjē jāgai sahjē sōvai ॥

सहजे जागै सहजे सोवै ॥

He wakes in peace, and he sleeps in peace.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ॥

gurmukhi andinu ustati hōvai ॥

गुरमुखि अनदिनु उसतति होवै ॥

The Gurmukh praises the Lord night and day.

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਰਮੈ ਸਹਸਾ ਹੋਵੈ ॥

manmukh bharmai sahasā hōvai ॥

मनमुख भरमै सहसा होवै ॥

The self-willed manmukh remains deluded by his doubts.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਸੋਵੈ ॥

antri chintā nīd na sōvai ॥

अंतरि चिंता नीद न सोवै ॥

He is filled with anxiety, and he cannot even sleep.

ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਾਗਹਿ ਸਵਹਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥

giānī jāghi savahi subhāi ॥

गिआनी जागहि सवहि सुभाइ ॥

The spiritually wise wake and sleep in peace.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤਿਆ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥੨॥

nānak nāmi ratiā bali jāu ॥2॥

नानक नामि रतिआ बलि जाउ ॥२॥

Nanak is a sacrifice to those who are imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||
