ਸੇ ਸਚਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਏ ॥

माझ महला ३ ॥

Maajh, Third Mehl:

ਸੇ ਸਚਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਏ ॥

sē sachi lāgē jō tudhu bhāē ॥

से सचि लागे जो तुधु भाए ॥

Those who please You are linked to the Truth.

ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥

sadā sachu sēvhi sahaj subhāē ॥

सदा सचु सेवहि सहज सुभाए ॥

They serve the True One forever, with intuitive ease.

ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੈ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥

sachai sabdi sachā sālāhī sachai mēli milāvṇiā ॥1॥

सचै सबदि सचा सालाही सचै मेलि मिलावणिआ ॥१॥

Through the True Word of the Shabad, they praise the True One, and they merge in the merging of Truth. ||1||

ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਣਿਆ ॥

hau vārī jīu vārī sachu sālāhṇiā ॥

हउ वारी जीउ वारी सचु सालाहणिआ ॥

I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who praise the True One.

ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ਸੇ ਸਚਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

sachu dhiāini sē sachi rātē sachē sachi samāvṇiā ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

सचु धिआइनि से सचि राते सचे सचि समावणिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Those who meditate on the True One are attuned to Truth; they are absorbed into the Truest of the True. ||1||Pause||

ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ ॥

jah dēkhā sachu sabhnī thāī ॥

जह देखा सचु सभनी थाई ॥

The True One is everywhere, wherever I look.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥

gur parsādī manni vasāī ॥

गुर परसादी मंनि वसाई ॥

By Guru's Grace, I enshrine Him in my mind.

ਤਨੁ ਸਚਾ ਰਸਨਾ ਸਚਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਚੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਨਣਿਆ ॥੨॥

tanu sachā rasnā sachi rātī sachu suṇi ākhi vakhānṇiā ॥2॥

तनु सचा रसना सचि राती सचु सुणि आखि वखानणिआ ॥२॥

True are the bodies of those whose tongues are attuned to Truth. They hear the Truth, and speak it with their mouths. ||2||

ਮਨਸਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥

mansā māri sachi samāṇī ॥

मनसा मारि सचि समाणी ॥

Subduing their desires, they merge with the True One;

ਇਨਿ ਮਨਿ ਡੀਠੀ ਸਭ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੀ ॥

ini mani ḍīṭhī sabh āvaṇ jāṇī ॥

इनि मनि डीठी सभ आवण जाणी ॥

They see in their minds that everyone comes and goes in reincarnation.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਸਦਾ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥

satiguru sēvē sadā manu nihchalu nij ghari vāsā pāvṇiā ॥3॥

सतिगुरु सेवे सदा मनु निहचलु निज घरि वासा पावणिआ ॥३॥

Serving the True Guru, they become stable forever, and they obtain their dwelling in the home of the self. ||3||

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥

gur kai sabdi ridai dikhāiā ॥

गुर कै सबदि रिदै दिखाइआ ॥

Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord is seen within one's own heart.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਇਆ ॥

māiā mōhu sabdi jalāiā ॥

माइआ मोहु सबदि जलाइआ ॥

Through the Shabad, I have burned my emotional attachment to Maya.

ਸਚੋ ਸਚਾ ਵੇਖਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥

sachō sachā vēkhi sālāhī gur sabadī sachu pāvṇiā ॥4॥

सचो सचा वेखि सालाही गुर सबदी सचु पावणिआ ॥४॥

I gaze upon the Truest of the True, and I praise Him. Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I obtain the True One. ||4||

ਜੋ ਸਚਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਚੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥

jō sachi rātē tin sachī liv lāgī ॥

जो सचि राते तिन सची लिव लागी ॥

Those who are attuned to Truth are blessed with the Love of the True One.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਹਿ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥

hari nāmu samālahi sē vaḍbhāgī ॥

हरि नामु समालहि से वडभागी ॥

Those who praise the Lord's Name are very fortunate.

ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥

sachai sabdi āpi milāē satsaṅgti sachu guṇ gāvṇiā ॥5॥

सचै सबदि आपि मिलाए सतसंगति सचु गुण गावणिआ ॥५॥

Through the Word of His Shabad, the True One blends with Himself, those who join the True Congregation and sing the Glorious Praises of the True One. ||5||

ਲੇਖਾ ਪੜੀਐ ਜੇ ਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਹੋਵੈ ॥

lēkhā paṛīai jē lēkhē vichi hōvai ॥

लेखा पड़ीऐ जे लेखे विचि होवै ॥

We could read the account of the Lord, if He were in any account.

ਓਹੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਧਿ ਹੋਵੈ ॥

ōhu agmu agōcru sabdi sudhi hōvai ॥

ओहु अगमु अगोचरु सबदि सुधि होवै ॥

He is Inaccessible and Incomprehensible; through the Shabad, understanding is obtained.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਚ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥

andinu sac sabdi sālāhī hōru kōi na kīmti pāvṇiā ॥6॥

अनदिनु सच सबदि सालाही होरु कोइ न कीमति पावणिआ ॥६॥

Night and day, praise the True Word of the Shabad. There is no other way to know His Worth. ||6||

ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਆਈ ॥

paṛi paṛi thākē sānti na āī ॥

पड़ि पड़ि थाके सांति न आई ॥

People read and recite until they grow weary, but they do not find peace.

ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਾਲੇ ਸੁਧਿ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥

trisnā jālē sudhi na kāī ॥

त्रिसना जाले सुधि न काई ॥

Consumed by desire, they have no understanding at all.

ਬਿਖੁ ਬਿਹਾਝਹਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਮੋਹ ਪਿਆਸੇ ਕੂੜੁ ਬੋਲਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥

bikhu bihājhhi bikhu mōh piāsē kūṛu bōli bikhu khāvṇiā ॥7॥

बिखु बिहाझहि बिखु मोह पिआसे कूड़ु बोलि बिखु खावणिआ ॥७॥

They purchase poison, and they are thirsty with their fascination for poison. Telling lies, they eat poison. ||7||

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣਾ ॥

gur parsādī ēkō jāṇā ॥

गुर परसादी एको जाणा ॥

By Guru's Grace, I know the One.

ਦੂਜਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ ॥

dūjā māri manu sachi samāṇā ॥

दूजा मारि मनु सचि समाणा ॥

Subduing my sense of duality, my mind is absorbed into the True One.

ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੧੭॥੧੮॥

nānak ēkō nāmu vartai man antri gur parsādī pāvṇiā ॥8॥17॥18॥

नानक एको नामु वरतै मन अंतरि गुर परसादी पावणिआ ॥८॥१७॥१८॥

O Nanak, the One Name is pervading deep within my mind; by Guru's Grace, I receive it. ||8||17||18||
