ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਭੁਖ ਗਵਾਏ ॥

ਬਸੰਤੁ ਹਿੰਡੋਲ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥

Basant Hindol, First Mehl:

ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਭੁਖ ਗਵਾਏ ॥

sāchā sāhu gurū sukhdātā hari mēlē bhukh gavāē ॥

साचा साहु गुरू सुखदाता हरि मेले भुख गवाए ॥

The Guru is the True Banker, the Giver of peace; He unites the mortal with the Lord, and satisfies his hunger.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥੧॥

kari kirpā hari bhagti driṛāē andinu hari guṇ gāē ॥1॥

करि किरपा हरि भगति द्रिड़ाए अनदिनु हरि गुण गाए ॥१॥

Granting His Grace, He implants devotional worship of the Lord within; and then night and day, we sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||

ਮਤ ਭੂਲਹਿ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਚੇਤਿ ਹਰੀ ॥

mat bhūlhi rē man chēti harī ॥

मत भूलहि रे मन चेति हरी ॥

O my mind, do not forget the Lord; keep Him in your consciousness.

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੋਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

binu gur mukti nāhī trai lōī gurmukhi pāīai nāmu harī ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

बिनु गुर मुकति नाही त्रै लोई गुरमुखि पाईऐ नामु हरी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Without the Guru, no one is liberated anywhere in the three worlds. The Gurmukh obtains the Lord's Name. ||1||Pause||

ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਾਗਾ ਨਹੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰੀ ॥

binu bhagtī nahī satiguru pāīai binu bhāgā nahī bhagti harī ॥

बिनु भगती नही सतिगुरु पाईऐ बिनु भागा नही भगति हरी ॥

Without devotional worship, the True Guru is not obtained. Without good destiny, devotional worship of the Lord is not obtained.

ਬਿਨੁ ਭਾਗਾ ਸਤਸੰਗੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਰਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੀ ॥੨॥

binu bhāgā satsaṅgu na pāīai karmi milai hari nāmu harī ॥2॥

बिनु भागा सतसंगु न पाईऐ करमि मिलै हरि नामु हरी ॥२॥

Without good destiny, the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, is not obtained. By the grace of one's good karma, the Lord's Name is received. ||2||

ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਉਪਾਏ ਵੇਖੈ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ॥

ghaṭi ghaṭi guptu upāē vēkhai pargaṭu gurmukhi sant janā ॥

घटि घटि गुपतु उपाए वेखै परगटु गुरमुखि संत जना ॥

In each and every heart, the Lord is hidden; He creates and watches over all. He reveals Himself in the humble, Saintly Gurmukhs.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਭੀਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਲੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਾ ॥੩॥

hari hari karahi su hari raṅgi bhīnē hari jalu ammrit nāmu manā ॥3॥

हरि हरि करहि सु हरि रंगि भीने हरि जलु अंम्रित नामु मना ॥३॥

Those who chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, are drenched with the Lord's Love. Their minds are drenched with the Ambrosial Water of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||3||

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਤਖਤਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇ ਪਰਧਾਨ ਕੀਏ ॥

jin kau takhti milai vaḍiāī gurmukhi sē pardhān kīē ॥

जिन कउ तखति मिलै वडिआई गुरमुखि से परधान कीए ॥

Those who are blessed with the glory of the Lord's Throne - those Gurmukhs are renowned as supreme.

ਪਾਰਸੁ ਭੇਟਿ ਭਏ ਸੇ ਪਾਰਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਥੀਏ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੨॥

pārsu bhēṭi bhaē sē pāras nānak hari gur saṅgi thīē ॥4॥4॥12॥

पारसु भेटि भए से पारस नानक हरि गुर संगि थीए ॥४॥४॥१२॥

Touching the philosopher's stone, they themselves becomes the philosopher's stone; they become the companions of the Lord, the Guru. ||4||4||12||
