ਰੈਣਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੜੀ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥

माझ महला ५ ॥

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਰੈਣਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੜੀ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥

raiṇi suhāvṛī dinsu suhēlā ॥

रैणि सुहावड़ी दिनसु सुहेला ॥

Beautiful is the night, and beautiful is the day,

ਜਪਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਲਾ ॥

japi ammrit nāmu santsaṅgi mēlā ॥

जपि अंम्रित नामु संतसंगि मेला ॥

When one joins the Society of the Saints and chants the Ambrosial Naam.

ਘੜੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪਲ ਵੰਹਿ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਸਫਲੁ ਤਿਥਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

ghaṛī mūrat simrat pal vaṃhi jīvṇu saphlu tithāī jīu ॥1॥

घड़ी मूरत सिमरत पल वंहि जीवणु सफलु तिथाई जीउ ॥१॥

If you remember the Lord in meditation for a moment, even for an instant, then your life will become fruitful and prosperous. ||1||

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਲਾਥੇ ॥

simrat nāmu dōkh sabhi lāthē ॥

सिमरत नामु दोख सभि लाथे ॥

Remembering the Naam, the Name of the Lord, all sinful mistakes are erased.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਥੇ ॥

antri bāhri hari prabhu sāthē ॥

अंतरि बाहरि हरि प्रभु साथे ॥

Inwardly and outwardly, the Lord God is always with us.

ਭੈ ਭਉ ਭਰਮੁ ਖੋਇਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਦੇਖਾ ਸਭਨੀ ਜਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

bhai bhau bharmu khōiā guri pūrai dēkhā sabhnī jāī jīu ॥2॥

भै भउ भरमु खोइआ गुरि पूरै देखा सभनी जाई जीउ ॥२॥

Fear, dread and doubt have been dispelled by the Perfect Guru; now, I see God everywhere. ||2||

ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਵਡ ਊਚ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥

prabhu samrathu vaḍ ūch apārā ॥

प्रभु समरथु वड ऊच अपारा ॥

God is All-powerful, Vast, Lofty and Infinite.

ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥

nau nidhi nāmu bharē bhaṇḍārā ॥

नउ निधि नामु भरे भंडारा ॥

The Naam is overflowing with the nine treasures.

ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਮਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਲਵੈ ਨ ਲਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

ādi anti madhi prabhu sōī dūjā lavai na lāī jīu ॥3॥

आदि अंति मधि प्रभु सोई दूजा लवै न लाई जीउ ॥३॥

In the beginning, in the middle, and in the end, there is God. Nothing else even comes close to Him. ||3||

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥

kari kirpā mērē dīn daiālā ॥

करि किरपा मेरे दीन दइआला ॥

Take pity on me, O my Lord, Merciful to the meek.

ਜਾਚਿਕੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਸਾਧ ਰਵਾਲਾ ॥

jāchiku jāchai sādh ravālā ॥

जाचिकु जाचै साध रवाला ॥

I am a beggar, begging for the dust of the feet of the Holy.

ਦੇਹਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੮॥੪੫॥

dēhi dānu nānku janu māgai sadā sadā hari dhiāī jīu ॥4॥38॥45॥

देहि दानु नानकु जनु मागै सदा सदा हरि धिआई जीउ ॥४॥३८॥४५॥

Servant Nanak begs for this gift: let me meditate on the Lord, forever and ever. ||4||38||45||
