ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗੁ ਕਦੇ ਉਤਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

गउड़ी महला ५ ॥

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗੁ ਕਦੇ ਉਤਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥

rām raṅgu kadē utri na jāi ॥

राम रंगु कदे उतरि न जाइ ॥

The Lord's Love shall never leave or depart.

ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥੧॥

guru pūrā jisu dēi bujhāi ॥1॥

गुरु पूरा जिसु देइ बुझाइ ॥१॥

They alone understand, unto whom the Perfect Guru gives it. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸੋ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਚਾ ॥

hari raṅgi rātā sō manu sāchā ॥

हरि रंगि राता सो मनु साचा ॥

One whose mind is attuned to the Lord's Love is true.

ਲਾਲ ਰੰਗ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

lāl raṅg pūran purkhu bidhātā ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

लाल रंग पूरन पुरखु बिधाता ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

The Love of the Beloved, the Architect of Destiny, is perfect. ||1||Pause||

ਸੰਤਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੈਸਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥

santah saṅgi baisi gun gāi ॥

संतह संगि बैसि गुन गाइ ॥

Sitting in the Society of the Saints, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

ਤਾ ਕਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥

tā kā raṅgu na utrai jāi ॥2॥

ता का रंगु न उतरै जाइ ॥२॥

The color of His Love shall never fade away. ||2||

ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

binu hari simran sukhu nahī pāiā ॥

बिनु हरि सिमरन सुखु नही पाइआ ॥

Without meditating in remembrance on the Lord, peace is not found.

ਆਨ ਰੰਗ ਫੀਕੇ ਸਭ ਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥

ān raṅg phīkē sabh māiā ॥3॥

आन रंग फीके सभ माइआ ॥३॥

All the other loves and tastes of Maya are bland and insipid. ||3||

ਗੁਰਿ ਰੰਗੇ ਸੇ ਭਏ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥

guri raṅgē sē bhaē nihāl ॥

गुरि रंगे से भए निहाल ॥

Those who are imbued with love by the Guru become happy.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਦਇਆਲ ॥੪॥੭੨॥੧੪੧॥

kahu nānak gur bhaē hai daiāl ॥4॥72॥141॥

कहु नानक गुर भए है दइआल ॥४॥७२॥१४१॥

Says Nanak, the Guru has become merciful to them. ||4||72||141||
