ਪੰਜ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਪੰਜ ਪੀਰ ਛਟਮ ਪੀਰ ਬੈਠਾ ਗੁਰ ਭਾਰੀ॥

ਪੰਜ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਪੰਜ ਪੀਰ ਛਟਮ ਪੀਰ ਬੈਠਾ ਗੁਰ ਭਾਰੀ॥

pañj piālē pañj pīr chhaṭam pīr baiṭhā gur bhārī॥

पंज पिआले पंज पीर छटम पीर बैठा गुर भारी॥

(From Guru Nanak to Guru Arjan Dev) Five pirs were there who drank from the five cups(of truth, contentment, compassion, dharama, discerning wisdom), and now the sixth great pir is holding the Guruship.

ਅਰਜਨ ਕਾਇਆਂ ਪਲਟ ਕੈ ਮੂਰਤ ਹਰਿਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਵਾਰੀ॥

arjan kāiāṃ palaṭ kai mūrat harigōbind savārī॥

अरजन काइआं पलट कै मूरत हरिगोबिंद सवारी॥

Arjan (Dev) transformed himself into Harigobind and sat majestically.

ਚਲੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਸੋਢੀਆਂ ਰੂਪ ਦਿਖਾਵਨ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰੀ॥

chalī pīṛhī sōḍhīāṃ rūp dikhāvan vārō vārī॥

चली पीड़्ही सोढीआं रूप दिखावन वारो वारी॥

Now the Sodhi lineage has started and they all will show their selves turn by turn.

ਦਲ ਭੰਜਨ ਗੁਰ ਸੂਰਮਾਂ ਵਡ ਜੋਧਾ ਬਹੁ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ॥

dal bhañjan gur sūrmāṃ vaḍ jōdhā bahu parupkārī॥

दल भंजन गुर सूरमां वड जोधा बहु परउपकारी॥

This Guru, the vanquisher of armies, is very brave and benevolent.

ਪੁਛੱਨ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ ਛੇ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ ਤਕ ਦਰਸ ਨਿਹਾਰੀ॥

puchhann sikkh ardās kar chhē mahilāṃ tak daras nihārī॥

पुछॱन सिॱख अरदास कर छे महिलां तक दरस निहारी॥

The Sikhs prayed and asked that they have seen the six Gurus (how many more are to come) .

ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਬੋਲੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ॥

agam agōchar satigurū bōlē mukh tē suṇhu saṃsārī॥

अगम अगोचर सतिगुरू बोले मुख ते सुणहु संसारी॥

The true Guru, the knower of the unknowable and seer of the invisible told the Sikhs to listen to.

ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਸੋਢੀਆਂ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਨੀਨ ਉਸਾਰ ਖਲ੍ਹਾਰੀ॥

kalijug pīṛhī sōḍhīāṃ nihchal nīn usār khalhārī॥

कलिजुग पीड़्ही सोढीआं निहचल नीन उसार खल्हारी॥

The lineage of the Sodhis have been established on the sound foundation.

ਜੁਗ ਜੁਗ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਧਰੇ ਅਵਤਾਰੀ ॥੪੮॥

jug jug satigur dharē avtārī ॥48॥

जुग जुग सतिगुर धरे अवतारी ॥४८॥

Four more Gurus will come to earth (yuga 2, yuga 2 i.e. 2+2=4)
