ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਜਾਨਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥

ਰਾਗੁ ਮਲਾਰ ਛੰਤ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਕੇ ਦਾਤੇ ॥

prītam prēm bhagti kē dātē ॥

प्रीतम प्रेम भगति के दाते ॥

My Beloved Lord is the Giver of loving devotional worship.

ਅਪਨੇ ਜਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥

apnē jan saṅgi rātē ॥

अपने जन संगि राते ॥

His humble servants are imbued with His Love.

ਜਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰਾਤੇ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ॥

jan saṅgi rātē dinsu rātē ik nimakh manhu na vīsrai ॥

जन संगि राते दिनसु राते इक निमख मनहु न वीसरै ॥

He is imbued with His servants, day and night; He does not forget them from His Mind, even for an instant.

ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗੇ ਸਰਬ ਗੁਣ ਜਗਦੀਸਰੈ ॥

gōpāl guṇ nidhi sadā saṅgē sarab guṇ jagdīsrai ॥

गोपाल गुण निधि सदा संगे सरब गुण जगदीसरै ॥

He is the Lord of the World, the Treasure of virtue; He is always with me. All glorious virtues belong to the Lord of the Universe.

ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਲੀਨਾ ਚਰਨ ਸੰਗੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਜਨ ਮਾਤੇ ॥

manu mōhi līnā charan saṅgē nām rasi jan mātē ॥

मनु मोहि लीना चरन संगे नाम रसि जन माते ॥

With His Feet, He has fascinated my mind; as His humble servant, I am intoxicated with love for His Name.

ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਸਦਹੂੰ ਕਿਨੈ ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਜਾਤੇ ॥੧॥

nānak prītam kripāl sadhūṃ kinai kōṭi madhē jātē ॥1॥

नानक प्रीतम क्रिपाल सदहूं किनै कोटि मधे जाते ॥१॥

O Nanak, my Beloved is forever Merciful; out of millions, hardly anyone realizes Him. ||1||

ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਤੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥

prītam tērī gati agam apārē ॥

प्रीतम तेरी गति अगम अपारे ॥

O Beloved, Your state is inaccessible and infinite.

ਮਹਾ ਪਤਿਤ ਤੁਮ੍‍ ਤਾਰੇ ॥

mahā patit tum‍ tārē ॥

महा पतित तुम्‍ तारे ॥

You save even the worst sinners.

ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਸੁਆਮੀਆ ॥

patit pāvan bhagti vachhal kripā sindhu suāmīā ॥

पतित पावन भगति वछल क्रिपा सिंधु सुआमीआ ॥

He is the Purifier of sinners, the Lover of His devotees, the Ocean of mercy, our Lord and Master.

ਸੰਤਸੰਗੇ ਭਜੁ ਨਿਸੰਗੇ ਰਂਉ ਸਦਾ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀਆ ॥

santsaṅgē bhaju nisaṅgē raṃu sadā antrajāmīā ॥

संतसंगे भजु निसंगे रंउ सदा अंतरजामीआ ॥

In the Society of the Saints, vibrate and meditate on Him with commitment forever; He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.

ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਭ੍ਰਮੰਤ ਜੋਨੀ ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤਾਰੇ ॥

kōṭi janam bhramant jōnī tē nām simrat tārē ॥

कोटि जनम भ्रमंत जोनी ते नाम सिमरत तारे ॥

Those who wander in reincarnation through millions of births, are saved and carried across, by meditating in remembrance on the Naam.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਸ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਰੇ ॥੨॥

nānak daras piās hari jīu āpi lēhu samārē ॥2॥

नानक दरस पिआस हरि जीउ आपि लेहु सम्‍ारे ॥२॥

Nanak is thirsty for the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, O Dear Lord; please take care of him. ||2||

ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਨਾ ॥

hari charan kamal manu līnā ॥

हरि चरन कमल मनु लीना ॥

My mind is absorbed in the Lotus Feet of the Lord.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਲ ਜਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੀਨਾ ॥

prabh jal jan tērē mīnā ॥

प्रभ जल जन तेरे मीना ॥

O God, You are the water; Your humble servants are fish.

ਜਲ ਮੀਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਏਕ ਤੂਹੈ ਭਿੰਨ ਆਨ ਨ ਜਾਨੀਐ ॥

jal mīn prabh jīu ēk tūhai bhinn ān na jānīai ॥

जल मीन प्रभ जीउ एक तूहै भिंन आन न जानीऐ ॥

O Dear God, You alone are the water and the fish. I know that there is no difference between the two.

ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਤਉ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੀ ਮਾਨੀਐ ॥

gahi bhujā lēvhu nāmu dēvhu tau prasādī mānīai ॥

गहि भुजा लेवहु नामु देवहु तउ प्रसादी मानीऐ ॥

Please take hold of my arm and bless me with Your Name. I am honored only by Your Grace.

ਭਜੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੇ ਏਕ ਰੰਗੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਦੀਨਾ ॥

bhaju sādhsaṅgē ēk raṅgē kripāl gōbid dīnā ॥

भजु साधसंगे एक रंगे क्रिपाल गोबिद दीना ॥

In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, vibrate and meditate with love on the One Lord of the Universe, who is Merciful to the meek.

ਅਨਾਥ ਨੀਚ ਸਰਣਾਇ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਿ ਮਇਆ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕੀਨਾ ॥੩॥

anāth nīch sarṇāi nānak kari maiā apunā kīnā ॥3॥

अनाथ नीच सरणाइ नानक करि मइआ अपुना कीना ॥३॥

Nanak, the lowly and helpless, seeks the Sanctuary of the Lord, who in His Kindness has made him His Own. ||3||

ਆਪਸ ਕਉ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥

āpas kau āpu milāiā ॥

आपस कउ आपु मिलाइआ ॥

He unites us with Himself.

ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੰਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥

bhram bhañjan hari rāiā ॥

भ्रम भंजन हरि राइआ ॥

Our Sovereign Lord King is the Destroyer of fear.

ਆਚਰਜ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਮਿਲੇ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ॥

ācraj suāmī antrajāmī milē guṇ nidhi piāriā ॥

आचरज सुआमी अंतरजामी मिले गुण निधि पिआरिआ ॥

My Wondrous Lord and Master is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. My Beloved, the Treasure of virtue, has met me.

ਮਹਾ ਮੰਗਲ ਸੂਖ ਉਪਜੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਤ ਸਾਰਿਆ ॥

mahā maṅgal sūkh upjē gōbind guṇ nit sāriā ॥

महा मंगल सूख उपजे गोबिंद गुण नित सारिआ ॥

Supreme happiness and peace well up, as I cherish the Glorious Virtues of the Lord of the Universe.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੋਹੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਮੋਹੇ ਪੁਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

mili saṅgi sōhē dēkhi mōhē purbi likhiā pāiā ॥

मिलि संगि सोहे देखि मोहे पुरबि लिखिआ पाइआ ॥

Meeting with Him, I am embellished and exalted; gazing on Him, I am fascinated, and I realize my pre-ordained destiny.

ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੧॥

binvanti nānak sarni tin kī jinī hari hari dhiāiā ॥4॥1॥

बिनवंति नानक सरनि तिन की जिन्‍ी हरि हरि धिआइआ ॥४॥१॥

Prays Nanak, I seek the Sanctuary of those who meditate on the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||1||

ਵਾਰ ਮਲਾਰ ਕੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ਰਾਣੇ ਕੈਲਾਸ ਤਥਾ ਮਾਲਦੇ ਕੀ ਧੁਨਿ ॥

vār malār kī mahlā 1 rāṇē kailās tathā māldē kī dhuni ॥

वार मलार की महला १ राणे कैलास तथा मालदे की धुनि ॥
