ਪੀਊ ਦਾਦੇ ਜੇਵੇਹਾ ਪੜਦਾਦੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਪੜੋਤਾ॥

ਪੀਊ ਦਾਦੇ ਜੇਵੇਹਾ ਪੜਦਾਦੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਪੜੋਤਾ॥

pīū dādē jēvēhā paṛdādē parvāṇu paṛōtā॥

पीऊ दादे जेवेहा पड़दादे परवाणु पड़ोता॥

Grand father Guru Nanak, the grand son ( Guru Rain Das) has become great Like (spiritual) father Guru AmarDas, grand father Guru Angad and accepted (by sangat).

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਾਗਿ ਜਗਾਇਦਾ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕੌੜ ਸੋਤਾ॥

gurmati jāgi jagāidā kalijug andri kauṛ sōtā॥

गुरमति जागि जगाइदा कलिजुग अंदरि कौड़ सोता॥

Having been awakened by Guru's instruction, he in turn awakens the dark age (Kaliyug) from deep slumber.

ਦੀਨ ਦੁਨੀ ਦਾ ਥੰਮੁ ਹੁਇ ਭਾਰੁ ਅਥਰਬਣ ਥੰਮ੍ਹਿ ਖਲੋਤਾ॥

dīn dunī dā thammu hui bhāru athrabaṇ thammhi khalōtā॥

दीन दुनी दा थंमु हुइ भारु अथरबण थंम्हि खलोता॥

For dharma and the world he stands like a supporting pillar.

ਭਉਜਲੁ ਭਉ ਨ ਵਿਆਪਈ ਗੁਰ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਚੜਿ ਖਾਇ ਨ ਗੋਤਾ॥

bhaujlu bhau na viāpaī gur bōhith chaṛi khāi na gōtā॥

भउजलु भउ न विआपई गुर बोहिथ चड़ि खाइ न गोता॥

Whosoever has mounted the vessel of the Guru, is not scared of the world world ocean; and he is not to drown in it

ਅਵਗੁਣ ਲੈ ਗੁਣ ਵਿਕਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਹਟ ਨਾਲੈ ਵਣਜ ਸਓਤਾ॥

avguṇ lai guṇ vikṇai gur haṭ nālai vaṇaj saōtā॥

अवगुण लै गुण विकणै गुर हट नालै वणज सओता॥

Here virtues are sold for evils - such is the profitable shop of the Guru.

ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜੈ ਰਤਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹਾਰੁ ਪਰੋਤਾ॥

miliā mūli na vichhuṛai ratan padārath hāru parōtā॥

मिलिआ मूलि न विछुड़ै रतन पदारथ हारु परोता॥

Once visited none gets separated from him who has put on the garland of the pearls of virtues.

ਮੈਲਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਵਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਲ ਧੋਤਾ॥

mailā kadē na hōvaī gur sarvari nirmal jal dhōtā॥

मैला कदे न होवई गुर सरवरि निरमल जल धोता॥

Washed himself in the pure water of the tank of the Guru's love, one never gets soiled again.

ਬਾਬਾਣੈ ਕੁਲਿ ਕਵਲੁ ਅਛੋਤਾ ॥੧੫॥

bābāṇai kuli kavlu achhōtā ॥15॥

बाबाणै कुलि कवलु अछोता ॥१५॥

In the family of great grand father (Guru Nanak) he (Guru Ram Das) stands like a detached lotus.
