ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਨਿਬਾਹੀ ਪੂਰੀ ॥

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

sōrṭhi mahlā 5 ॥

सोरठि महला ५ ॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਨਿਬਾਹੀ ਪੂਰੀ ॥

pārbrahmi nibāhī pūrī ॥

पारब्रहमि निबाही पूरी ॥

The Supreme Lord God has stood by me and fulfilled me,

ਕਾਈ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਰਹੀਆ ਊਰੀ ॥

kāī bāt na rahīā ūrī ॥

काई बात न रहीआ ऊरी ॥

And nothing is left unfinished.

ਗੁਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਲਾਇ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥

guri charan lāi nisatārē ॥

गुरि चरन लाइ निसतारे ॥

Attached to the Guru's feet, I am saved;

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਰੇ ॥੧॥

hari hari nāmu samārē ॥1॥

हरि हरि नामु सम्‍ारे ॥१॥

I contemplate and cherish the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||

ਅਪਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਸਦਾ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥

apnē dās kā sadā rakhvālā ॥

अपने दास का सदा रखवाला ॥

He is forever the Savior of His slaves.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਿਉ ਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kari kirpā apunē kari rākhē māt pitā jiu pālā ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

करि किरपा अपुने करि राखे मात पिता जिउ पाला ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Bestowing His Mercy, He made me His own and preserved me; like a mother or father, He cherishes me. ||1||Pause||

ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

vaḍbhāgī satiguru pāiā ॥

वडभागी सतिगुरु पाइआ ॥

By great good fortune, I found the True Guru,

ਜਿਨਿ ਜਮ ਕਾ ਪੰਥੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥

jini jam kā panthu miṭāiā ॥

जिनि जम का पंथु मिटाइआ ॥

Who obliterated the path of the Messenger of Death.

ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥

hari bhagti bhāi chitu lāgā ॥

हरि भगति भाइ चितु लागा ॥

My consciousness is focused on loving, devotional worship of the Lord.

ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗਾ ॥੨॥

japi jīvahi sē vaḍbhāgā ॥2॥

जपि जीवहि से वडभागा ॥२॥

One who lives in this meditation is very fortunate indeed. ||2||

ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵੈ ॥

hari ammrit bāṇī gāvai ॥

हरि अंम्रित बाणी गावै ॥

He sings the Ambrosial Word of the Guru's Bani,

ਸਾਧਾ ਕੀ ਧੂਰੀ ਨਾਵੈ ॥

sādhā kī dhūrī nāvai ॥

साधा की धूरी नावै ॥

And bathes in the dust of the feet of the Holy.

ਅਪੁਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੀਆ ॥

apunā nāmu āpē dīā ॥

अपुना नामु आपे दीआ ॥

He Himself bestows His Name.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣਹਾਰ ਰਖਿ ਲੀਆ ॥੩॥

prabh karṇahār rakhi līā ॥3॥

प्रभ करणहार रखि लीआ ॥३॥

God, the Creator, saves us. ||3||

ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥

hari darsan prān adhārā ॥

हरि दरसन प्रान अधारा ॥

The Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan is the support of the breath of life.

ਇਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਿਮਲ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥

ihu pūran bimal bīchārā ॥

इहु पूरन बिमल बीचारा ॥

This is the perfect, pure wisdom.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥

kari kirpā antrajāmī ॥

करि किरपा अंतरजामी ॥

The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, has granted His Mercy;

ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੪॥੮॥੫੮॥

dās nānak sarṇi suāmī ॥4॥8॥58॥

दास नानक सरणि सुआमी ॥४॥८॥५८॥

Slave Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of his Lord and Master. ||4||8||58||
