ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

माझ महला ५ ॥

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥

ōti pōti sēvak saṅgi rātā ॥

ओति पोति सेवक संगि राता ॥

Through and through, the Lord is intermingled with His servant.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥

prabh pratipālē sēvak sukhdātā ॥

प्रभ प्रतिपाले सेवक सुखदाता ॥

God, the Giver of Peace, cherishes His servant.

ਪਾਣੀ ਪਖਾ ਪੀਸਉ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹੀ ਕਾ ਆਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

pāṇī pakhā pīsau sēvak kai ṭhākur hī kā āhru jīu ॥1॥

पाणी पखा पीसउ सेवक कै ठाकुर ही का आहरु जीउ ॥१॥

I carry the water, wave the fan, and grind the grain for the servant of my Lord and Master. ||1||

ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥

kāṭi silak prabhi sēvā lāiā ॥

काटि सिलक प्रभि सेवा लाइआ ॥

God has cut the noose from around my neck; He has placed me in His Service.

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥

hukmu sāhib kā sēvak mani bhāiā ॥

हुकमु साहिब का सेवक मनि भाइआ ॥

The Lord and Master's Command is pleasing to the mind of His servant.

ਸੋਈ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਮਾਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

sōī kamāvai jō sāhib bhāvai sēvku antri bāhri māhru jīu ॥2॥

सोई कमावै जो साहिब भावै सेवकु अंतरि बाहरि माहरु जीउ ॥२॥

He does that which pleases his Lord and Master. Inwardly and outwardly, the servant knows his Lord. ||2||

ਤੂੰ ਦਾਨਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਨਹਿ ॥

tūṃ dānā ṭhākuru sabh bidhi jānhi ॥

तूं दाना ठाकुरु सभ बिधि जानहि ॥

You are the All-knowing Lord and Master; You know all ways and means.

ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣਹਿ ॥

ṭhākur kē sēvak hari raṅg māṇhi ॥

ठाकुर के सेवक हरि रंग माणहि ॥

The servant of the Lord and Master enjoys the Love and Affection of the Lord.

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

jō kichhu ṭhākur kā sō sēvak kā sēvku ṭhākur hī saṅgi jāhru jīu ॥3॥

जो किछु ठाकुर का सो सेवक का सेवकु ठाकुर ही संगि जाहरु जीउ ॥३॥

That which belongs to the Lord and Master, belongs to His servant. The servant becomes distinguished in association with his Lord and Master. ||3||

ਅਪੁਨੈ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਜੋ ਪਹਿਰਾਇਆ ॥ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਲੇਖਾ ਪੁਛਿ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ॥

apunai ṭhākuri jō pahirāiā ॥ bahuri na lēkhā puchhi bulāiā ॥

अपुनै ठाकुरि जो पहिराइआ ॥ बहुरि न लेखा पुछि बुलाइआ ॥

He, whom the Lord and Master dresses in the robes of honor, is not called to answer for his account any longer.

ਤਿਸੁ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸੋ ਗਹਿਰ ਗਭੀਰਾ ਗਉਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੮॥੨੫॥

tisu sēvak kai nānak kurbāṇī sō gahir gabhīrā gauhru jīu ॥4॥18॥25॥

तिसु सेवक कै नानक कुरबाणी सो गहिर गभीरा गउहरु जीउ ॥४॥१८॥२५॥

Nanak is a sacrifice to that servant. He is the pearl of the deep and unfathomable Ocean of God. ||4||18||25||
