ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕਥਾ ਕਥਾ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ॥

ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕਥਾ ਕਥਾ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ॥

nirguṇ kathā kathā hai hari kī ॥

निरगुण कथा कथा है हरि की ॥

The Speech of the Lord is the most sublime speech, free of any attributes.

ਭਜੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ॥

bhaju mili sādhū saṅgti jan kī ॥

भजु मिलि साधू संगति जन की ॥

Vibrate on it, meditate on it, and join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਤਰੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ॥੧॥

taru bhaujlu akath kathā suni hari kī ॥1॥

तरु भउजलु अकथ कथा सुनि हरि की ॥१॥

Cross over the terrifying world-ocean, listening to the Unspoken Speech of the Lord. ||1||

ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਾਇ ॥

gōbind satsaṅgti mēlāi ॥

गोबिंद सतसंगति मेलाइ ॥

O Lord of the Universe, unite me with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation.

ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

hari rasu rasnā rām gun gāi ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

हरि रसु रसना राम गुन गाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

My tongue savors the sublime essence of the Lord, singing the Lord's Glorious Praises. ||1||Pause||

ਜੋ ਜਨ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥

jō jan dhiāvahi hari hari nāmā ॥

जो जन धिआवहि हरि हरि नामा ॥

Those humble beings who meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har

ਤਿਨ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸ ਕਰਹੁ ਹਮ ਰਾਮਾ ॥

tin dāsni dās karahu ham rāmā ॥

तिन दासनि दास करहु हम रामा ॥

Please make me the slave of their slaves, Lord.

ਜਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਊਤਮ ਕਾਮਾ ॥੨॥

jan kī sēvā ūtam kāmā ॥2॥

जन की सेवा ऊतम कामा ॥२॥

Serving Your slaves is the ultimate good deed. ||2||

ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥

jō hari kī hari kathā suṇāvai ॥

जो हरि की हरि कथा सुणावै ॥

One who chants the Speech of the Lord

ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਹਮਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥

sō janu hamrai mani chiti bhāvai ॥

सो जनु हमरै मनि चिति भावै ॥

That humble servant is pleasing to my conscious mind.

ਜਨ ਪਗ ਰੇਣੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥

jan pag rēṇu vaḍbhāgī pāvai ॥3॥

जन पग रेणु वडभागी पावै ॥३॥

Those who are blessed with great good fortune obtain the dust of the feet of the humble. ||3||

ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਿਖਤੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਪਾਈ ॥

sant janā siu prīti bani āī ॥ jin kau likhtu likhiā dhuri pāī ॥

संत जना सिउ प्रीति बनि आई ॥ जिन कउ लिखतु लिखिआ धुरि पाई ॥

Those who are blessed with such pre-ordained destiny are in love with the humble Saints.

ਤੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੪੦॥

tē jan nānak nāmi samāī ॥4॥2॥40॥

ते जन नानक नामि समाई ॥४॥२॥४०॥

Those humble beings, O Nanak, are absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||2||40||
