ਨਿਗੁਣਿਆ ਨੋ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਭਾਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇ ॥

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਦੁਤੁਕੀ ॥

सोरठि महला ३ दुतुकी ॥

Sorat'h, Third Mehl, Du-Tukas:

ਨਿਗੁਣਿਆ ਨੋ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਭਾਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇ ॥

niguṇiā nō āpē bakhsi laē bhāī satigur kī sēvā lāi ॥

निगुणिआ नो आपे बखसि लए भाई सतिगुर की सेवा लाइ ॥

He Himself forgives the worthless, O Siblings of Destiny; He commits them to the service of the True Guru.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਊਤਮ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥

satigur kī sēvā ūtam hai bhāī rām nāmi chitu lāi ॥1॥

सतिगुर की सेवा ऊतम है भाई राम नामि चितु लाइ ॥१॥

Service to the True Guru is sublime, O Siblings of Destiny; through it, one's consciousness is attached to the Lord's Name. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥

hari jīu āpē bakhsi milāi ॥

हरि जीउ आपे बखसि मिलाइ ॥

The Dear Lord forgives, and unites with Himself.

ਗੁਣਹੀਣ ਹਮ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਭਾਈ ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਲਏ ਰਲਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

guṇhīṇ ham aprādhī bhāī pūrai satiguri laē ralāi ॥ rahāu ॥

गुणहीण हम अपराधी भाई पूरै सतिगुरि लए रलाइ ॥ रहाउ ॥

I am a sinner, totally without virtue, O Siblings of Destiny; the Perfect True Guru has blended me. ||Pause||

ਕਉਣ ਕਉਣ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਬਖਸਿਅਨੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥

kauṇ kauṇ aprādhī bakhsianu piārē sāchai sabdi vīchāri ॥

कउण कउण अपराधी बखसिअनु पिआरे साचै सबदि वीचारि ॥

So many, so many sinners have been forgiven, O beloved one, by contemplating the True Word of the Shabad.

ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਿਅਨੁ ਭਾਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬੇੜੈ ਚਾੜਿ ॥੨॥

bhaujlu pāri utārinu bhāī satigur bēṛai chāṛi ॥2॥

भउजलु पारि उतारिअनु भाई सति??ुर बेड़ै चाड़ि ॥२॥

They got on board the boat of the True Guru, who carried them across the terrifying world-ocean, O Siblings of Destiny. ||2||

ਮਨੂਰੈ ਤੇ ਕੰਚਨ ਭਏ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਸੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥

manūrai tē kañchan bhaē bhāī guru pārsu mēli milāi ॥

मनूरै ते कंचन भए भाई गुरु पारसु मेलि मिलाइ ॥

I have been transformed from rusty iron into gold, O Siblings of Destiny, united in Union with the Guru, the Philosopher's Stone.

ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਨਾਉ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਭਾਈ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੩॥

āpu chhōḍi nāu mani vasiā bhāī jōtī jōti milāi ॥3॥

आपु छोडि नाउ मनि वसिआ भाई जोती जोति मिलाइ ॥३॥

Eliminating my self-conceit, the Name has come to dwell within my mind, O Siblings of Destiny; my light has merged in the Light. ||3||

ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਣੈ ਭਾਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥

hau vārī hau vārṇai bhāī satigur kau sad balihārai jāu ॥

हउ वारी हउ वारणै भाई सतिगुर कउ सद बलिहारै जाउ ॥

I am a sacrifice, I am a sacrifice, O Siblings of Destiny, I am forever a sacrifice to my True Guru.

ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਦਿਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਉ ॥੪॥

nāmu nidhānu jini ditā bhāī gurmati sahji samāu ॥4॥

नामु निधानु जिनि दिता भाई गुरमति सहजि समाउ ॥४॥

He has given me the treasure of the Naam; O Siblings of Destiny, through the Guru's Teachings, I am absorbed in celestial bliss. ||4||

ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਹਜੁ ਨ ਊਪਜੈ ਭਾਈ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਗਿਆਨੀਆ ਜਾਇ ॥

gur binu sahju na ūpjai bhāī pūchhahhu giānīā jāi ॥

गुर बिनु सहजु न ऊपजै भाई पूछहु गिआनीआ जाइ ॥

Without the Guru, celestial peace is not produced, O Siblings of Destiny; go and ask the spiritual teachers about this.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੫॥

satigur kī sēvā sadā kari bhāī vichhu āpu gavāi ॥5॥

सतिगुर की सेवा सदा करि भाई विचहु आपु गवाइ ॥५॥

Serve the True Guru forever, O Siblings of Destiny, and eradicate self-conceit from within. ||5||

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਭਉ ਊਪਜੈ ਭਾਈ ਭਉ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਰੁ ॥

gurmatī bhau ūpjai bhāī bhau karṇī sachu sāru ॥

गुरमती भउ ऊपजै भाई भउ करणी सचु सारु ॥

Under Guru's Instruction, the Fear of God is produced, O Siblings of Destiny; true and excellent are the deeds done in the Fear of God.

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਭਾਈ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੬॥

prēm padārthu pāīai bhāī sachu nāmu ādhāru ॥6॥

प्रेम पदारथु पाईऐ भाई सचु नामु आधारु ॥६॥

Then, one is blessed with the treasure of the Lord's Love, O Siblings of Destiny, and the Support of the True Name. ||6||

ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਾਈ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਉ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਇ ॥

jō satiguru sēvhi āpaṇā bhāī tin kai hau lāgau pāi ॥

जो सतिगुरु सेवहि आपणा भाई तिन कै हउ लागउ पाइ ॥

I fall at the feet of those who serve their True Guru, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲੁ ਭੀ ਲਈ ਬਖਸਾਇ ॥੭॥

janmu savārī āpaṇā bhāī kulu bhī laī bakhsāi ॥7॥

जनमु सवारी आपणा भाई कुलु भी लई बखसाइ ॥७॥

I have fulfilled my life, O Siblings of Destiny, and my family has been saved as well. ||7||

ਸਚੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ॥

sachu bāṇī sachu sabdu hai bhāī gur kirpā tē hōi ॥

सचु बाणी सचु सबदु है भाई गुर किरपा ते होइ ॥

The True Word of the Guru's Bani, and the True Word of the Shabad, O Siblings of Destiny, are obtained only by Guru's Grace.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਭਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੮॥੨॥

nānak nāmu hari mani vasai bhāī tisu bighnu na lāgai kōi ॥8॥2॥

नानक नामु हरि मनि वसै भाई तिसु बिघनु न लागै कोइ ॥८॥२॥

O Nanak, with the Name of the Lord abiding in one's mind, no obstacles stand in one's way, O Siblings of Destiny. ||8||2||
