Shalok, Second Mehl:

ਨਾਨਕ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਹੇਇ ॥

nānak chintā mati karahu chintā tis hī hēi ॥

नानक चिंता मति करहु चिंता तिस ही हेइ ॥

O Nanak, don't be anxious; the Lord will take care of you.

ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਜੰਤ ਉਪਾਇਅਨੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਭਿ ਰੋਜੀ ਦੇਇ ॥

jal mahi jant upāinu tinā bhi rōjī dēi ॥

जल महि जंत उपाइअनु तिना भि रोजी देइ ॥

He created the creatures in water, and He gives them their nourishment.

ਓਥੈ ਹਟੁ ਨ ਚਲਈ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਕਿਰਸ ਕਰੇਇ ॥

ōthai haṭu na chalaī nā kō kiras karēi ॥

ओथै हटु न चलई ना को किरस करेइ ॥

There are no stores open there, and no one farms there.

ਸਉਦਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਲਏ ਨ ਦੇਇ ॥

saudā mūli na hōvaī nā kō laē na dēi ॥

सउदा मूलि न होवई ना को लए न देइ ॥

No business is ever transacted there, and no one buys or sells.

ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਆਹਾਰੁ ਜੀਅ ਖਾਣਾ ਏਹੁ ਕਰੇਇ ॥

jīā kā āhāru jīa khāṇā ēhu karēi ॥

जीआ का आहारु जीअ खाणा एहु करेइ ॥

Animals eat other animals; this is what the Lord has given them as food.

ਵਿਚਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਸਾਇਰਾ ਤਿਨਾ ਭਿ ਸਾਰ ਕਰੇਇ ॥

vichi upāē sāirā tinā bhi sār karēi ॥

विचि उपाए साइरा तिना भि सार करेइ ॥

He created them in the oceans, and He provides for them as well.

ਨਾਨਕ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਤ ਕਰਹੁ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਹੇਇ ॥੧॥

nānak chintā mat karahu chintā tis hī hēi ॥1॥

नानक चिंता मत करहु चिंता तिस ही हेइ ॥१॥
