ਮਨੁ ਮੋਤੀ ਜੇ ਗਹਣਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਉਣੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੂਤ ਧਾਰੀ ॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥

ਆਸਾ ਘਰੁ ੬ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥

āsā gharu 6 mahlā 1 ॥

आसा घरु ६ महला १ ॥

Aasaa, Sixth House, First Mehl:

ਮਨੁ ਮੋਤੀ ਜੇ ਗਹਣਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਉਣੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੂਤ ਧਾਰੀ ॥

manu mōtī jē gahṇā hōvai pauṇu hōvai sūt dhārī ॥

मनु मोती जे गहणा होवै पउणु होवै सूत धारी ॥

If the pearl of the mind is strung like a jewel on the thread of the breath,

ਖਿਮਾ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਤਨਿ ਪਹਿਰੈ ਰਾਵੈ ਲਾਲ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥

khimā sīgāru kāmṇi tani pahirai rāvai lāl piārī ॥1॥

खिमा सीगारु कामणि तनि पहिरै रावै लाल पिआरी ॥१॥

And the soul-bride adorns her body with compassion, then the Beloved Lord will enjoy His lovely bride. ||1||

ਲਾਲ ਬਹੁ ਗੁਣਿ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਮੋਹੀ ॥

lāl bahu guṇi kāmṇi mōhī ॥

लाल बहु गुणि कामणि मोही ॥

O my Love, I am fascinated by Your many glories;

ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਹੋਹਿ ਨ ਅਵਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

tērē guṇ hōhi na avarī ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

तेरे गुण होहि न अवरी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Your Glorious Virtues are not found in any other. ||1||Pause||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਾਰੁ ਕੰਠਿ ਲੇ ਪਹਿਰੈ ਦਾਮੋਦਰੁ ਦੰਤੁ ਲੇਈ ॥

hari hari hāru kaṇṭhi lē pahirai dāmōdru dantu lēī ॥

हरि हरि हारु कंठि ले पहिरै दामोदरु दंतु लेई ॥

If the bride wears the garland of the Lord's Name, Har, Har, around her neck, and if she uses the toothbrush of the Lord;

ਕਰ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਕੰਗਨ ਪਹਿਰੈ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਧਰੇਈ ॥੨॥

kar kari karatā kaṅgan pahirai in bidhi chitu dharēī ॥2॥

कर करि करता कंगन पहिरै इन बिधि चितु धरेई ॥२॥

And if she fashions and wears the bracelet of the Creator Lord around her wrist, then she shall hold her consciousness steady. ||2||

ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨੁ ਕਰ ਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਪਹਿਰੈ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਪਟੁ ਲੇਈ ॥

madhusūdnu kar mundrī pahirai parmēsru paṭu lēī ॥

मधुसूदनु कर मुंदरी पहिरै परमेसरु पटु लेई ॥

She should make the Lord, the Slayer of demons, her ring, and take the Transcendent Lord as her silken clothes.

ਧੀਰਜੁ ਧੜੀ ਬੰਧਾਵੈ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਸ੍ਰੀਰੰਗੁ ਸੁਰਮਾ ਦੇਈ ॥੩॥

dhīrju dhaṛī bandhāvai kāmṇi srīrṅgu suramā dēī ॥3॥

धीरजु धड़ी बंधावै कामणि स्रीरंगु सुरमा देई ॥३॥

The soul-bride should weave patience into the braids of her hair, and apply the lotion of the Lord, the Great Lover. ||3||

ਮਨ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਜੇ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਜਾਲੇ ਕਾਇਆ ਸੇਜ ਕਰੇਈ ॥

man mandri jē dīpku jālē kāiā sēj karēī ॥

मन मंदरि जे दीपकु जाले काइआ सेज करेई ॥

If she lights the lamp in the mansion of her mind, and makes her body the bed of the Lord,

ਗਿਆਨ ਰਾਉ ਜਬ ਸੇਜੈ ਆਵੈ ਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੋਗੁ ਕਰੇਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੩੫॥

giān rāu jab sējai āvai ta nānak bhōgu karēī ॥4॥1॥35॥

गिआन राउ जब सेजै आवै त नानक भोगु करेई ॥४॥१॥३५॥

Then, when the King of spiritual wisdom comes to her bed, He shall take her, and enjoy her. ||4||1||35||
