ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਲ ਮੁਰੀਦਾ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ॥

mitr piārē nūṃ hāl murīdā dā kahiṇā ॥

मित्र पिआरे नूं हाल मुरीदा दा कहिणा ॥

ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਰਜਾਈਆ ਦਾ ਓਢਣ ਨਾਗ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ਦੇ ਹਹਿਣਾ ॥

tudhu binu rōgu rajāīā dā ōḍhaṇ nāg nivāsā dē hahiṇā ॥

तुधु बिनु रोगु रजाईआ दा ओढण नाग निवासा दे हहिणा ॥

Without you the use of rich blankets is like a disease for us and the comfort of the house is like living with snakes.

ਸੂਲ ਸੁਰਾਹੀ ਖੰਜਰ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਬਿੰਗ ਕਸਾਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਣਾ ॥

sūl surāhī khañjar piālā biṅg kasāīāṃ dā sahiṇā ॥

सूल सुराही खंजर पिआला बिंग कसाईआं दा सहिणा ॥

Our water pitchers are like stakes of torture and our cups have edges like daggers. Your neglect is like the suffering of animals at the hands of butchers.

ਯਾਰੜੇ ਦਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਥਰੁ ਚੰਗਾ ਭਠ ਖੇੜਿਆ ਦਾ ਰਹਿਣਾ ॥

yāraṛē dā sānūṃ satthru chaṅgā bhaṭh khēṛiā dā rahiṇā ॥

यारड़े दा सानूं सॱथरु चंगा भठ खेड़िआ दा रहिणा ॥

Our Beloved Lord's straw bed is more pleasing to us than living in costly furnace-like mansions.
