ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਹਾਂ ॥

ਆਸਾਵਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

āsāvrī mahlā 5 ॥

आसावरी महला ५ ॥

Aasaavaree, Fifth Mehl:

ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਹਾਂ ॥

mili hari jasu gāīai hāṃ ॥

मिलि हरि जसु गाईऐ हां ॥

Meeting together, let us sing the Praises of the Lord,

ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਾਂ ॥

param padu pāīai hāṃ ॥

परम पदु पाईऐ हां ॥

And attain the supreme state.

ਉਆ ਰਸ ਜੋ ਬਿਧੇ ਹਾਂ ॥

uā ras jō bidhē hāṃ ॥

उआ रस जो बिधे हां ॥

Those who obtain that sublime essence,

ਤਾ ਕਉ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਧੇ ਹਾਂ ॥

tā kau sagal sidhē hāṃ ॥

ता कउ सगल सिधे हां ॥

Obtain all of the spiritual powers of the Siddhas.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥

andinu jāgiā hāṃ ॥

अनदिनु जागिआ हां ॥

They remain awake and aware night and day;

ਨਾਨਕ ਬਡਭਾਗਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

nānak baḍbhāgiā mērē manā ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

नानक बडभागिआ मेरे मना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Nanak, they are blessed by great good fortune, O my mind. ||1||Pause||

ਸੰਤ ਪਗ ਧੋਈਐ ਹਾਂ ॥

sant pag dhōīai hāṃ ॥

संत पग धोईऐ हां ॥

Let us wash the feet of the Saints;

ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਈਐ ਹਾਂ ॥

durmati khōīai hāṃ ॥

दुरमति खोईऐ हां ॥

Our evil-mindedness shall be cleansed.

ਦਾਸਹ ਰੇਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥

dāsah rēnu hōi hāṃ ॥

दासह रेनु होइ हां ॥

Becoming the dust of the feet of the Lord's slaves,

ਬਿਆਪੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥

biāpai dukhu na kōi hāṃ ॥

बिआपै दुखु न कोइ हां ॥

One shall not be afflicted with pain.

ਭਗਤਾਂ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰੁ ਹਾਂ ॥

bhagtāṃ sarni paru hāṃ ॥

भगतां सरनि परु हां ॥

Taking to the Sanctuary of His devotees,

ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਕਦੇ ਮਰੁ ਹਾਂ ॥

janmi na kadē maru hāṃ ॥

जनमि न कदे मरु हां ॥

He is no longer subject to birth and death.

ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਸੇ ਭਏ ਹਾਂ ॥

asthiru sē bhaē hāṃ ॥

असथिरु से भए हां ॥

They alone become eternal,

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਿਨ੍‍ ਜਪਿ ਲਏ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥

hari hari jin‍ japi laē mērē manā ॥1॥

हरि हरि जिन्‍ जपि लए मेरे मना ॥१॥

Who chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, O my mind. ||1||

ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੀਤੁ ਤੂੰ ਹਾਂ ॥

sājnu mītu tūṃ hāṃ ॥

साजनु मीतु तूं हां ॥

You are my Friend, my Best Friend.

ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇ ਮੂੰ ਹਾਂ ॥

nāmu driṛāi mūṃ hāṃ ॥

नामु द्रिड़ाइ मूं हां ॥

Please, implant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me.

ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹਿ ਕੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥

tisu binu nāhi kōi hāṃ ॥

तिसु बिनु नाहि कोइ हां ॥

Without Him, there is not any other.

ਮਨਹਿ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਸੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥

manhi arādhi sōi hāṃ ॥

मनहि अराधि सोइ हां ॥

Within my mind, I worship Him in adoration.

ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਹਾਂ ॥

nimakh na vīsrai hāṃ ॥

निमख न वीसरै हां ॥

I do not forget Him, even for an instant.

ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਉ ਸਰੈ ਹਾਂ ॥

tisu binu kiu sarai hāṃ ॥

तिसु बिनु किउ सरै हां ॥

How can I live without Him?

ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ਜਾਉ ਹਾਂ ॥

gur kau kurbānu jāu hāṃ ॥

गुर कउ कुरबानु जाउ हां ॥

I am a sacrifice to the Guru.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਪੇ ਨਾਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੬੧॥

nānku japē nāu mērē manā ॥2॥5॥161॥

नानकु जपे नाउ मेरे मना ॥२॥५॥१६१॥

Nanak, chant the Name, O my mind. ||2||5||161||
