ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥

आसा महला ४ ॥

Aasaa, Fourth Mehl:

ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥

mērai mani tani prēmu nāmu ādhāru ॥

मेरै मनि तनि प्रेमु नामु आधारु ॥

The Love of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the Support of my mind and body.

ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀ ਨਾਮੋ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥

nāmu japī nāmō sukh sāru ॥1॥

नामु जपी नामो सुख सारु ॥१॥

I chant the Naam; the Naam is the essence of peace. ||1||

ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਜਨ ਸੈਨਾ ॥

nāmu japhu mērē sājan sainā ॥

नामु जपहु मेरे साजन सैना ॥

So chant the Naam, O my friends and companions.

ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਲੈਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

nām binā mai avru na kōī vaḍai bhāgi gurmukhi hari lainā ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

नाम बिना मै अवरु न कोई वडै भागि गुरमुखि हरि लैना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Without the Naam, there is nothing else for me. By great good fortune, as Gurmukh, I have received the Lord's Name. ||1||Pause||

ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥

nām binā nahī jīviā jāi ॥

नाम बिना नही जीविआ जाइ ॥

Without the Naam, I cannot live.

ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥

vaḍai bhāgi gurmukhi hari pāi ॥2॥

वडै भागि गुरमुखि हरि पाइ ॥२॥

By great good fortune, the Gurmukhs obtain the Naam. ||2||

ਨਾਮਹੀਨ ਕਾਲਖ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਾਇਆ ॥

nāmahīn kālakh mukhi māiā ॥

नामहीन कालख मुखि माइआ ॥

Those who lack the Naam have their faces rubbed in the dirt of Maya.

ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਾਇਆ ॥੩॥

nām binā dhrigu dhrigu jīvāiā ॥3॥

नाम बिना ध्रिगु ध्रिगु जीवाइआ ॥३॥

Without the Naam, cursed, cursed are their lives. ||3||

ਵਡਾ ਵਡਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਗ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

vaḍā vaḍā hari bhāg kari pāiā ॥

वडा वडा हरि भाग करि पाइआ ॥

The Great Lord is obtained by great good destiny.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥੫੬॥

nānak gurmukhi nāmu divāiā ॥4॥4॥56॥

नानक गुरमुखि नामु दिवाइआ ॥४॥४॥५६॥

O Nanak, the Gurmukh is blessed with the Naam. ||4||4||56||
