Chhant:

ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਵਣਿ ਆਈਆ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਝਾਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥

mērā hari prabhu rāvṇi āīā haumai bikhu jhāgē rām ॥

मेरा हरि प्रभु रावणि आईआ हउमै बिखु झागे राम ॥

The soul-bride has come to ravish and enjoy her Lord God, after eradicating the poison of egotism.

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥

gurmati āpu miṭāiā hari hari liv lāgē rām ॥

गुरमति आपु मिटाइआ हरि हरि लिव लागे राम ॥

Following the Guru's Teachings, she has eliminated her self-conceit; she is lovingly attuned to her Lord, Har, Har.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਾਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥

antri kamlu pargāsiā gur giānī jāgē rām ॥

अंतरि कमलु परगासिआ गुर गिआनी जागे राम ॥

Her heart-lotus deep within has blossomed forth, and through the Guru, spiritual wisdom has been awakened within her.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੂਰੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥

jan nānak hari prabhu pāiā pūrai vaḍbhāgē rām ॥1॥

जन नानक हरि प्रभु पाइआ पूरै वडभागे राम ॥१॥

Servant Nanak has found the Lord God, by perfect, great good fortune. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਧਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥

hari prabhu hari mani bhāiā hari nāmi vadhāī rām ॥

हरि प्रभु हरि मनि भाइआ हरि नामि वधाई राम ॥

The Lord, the Lord God, is pleasing to her mind; the Lord's Name resounds within her.

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥

guri pūrai prabhu pāiā hari hari liv lāī rām ॥

गुरि पूरै प्रभु पाइआ हरि हरि लिव लाई राम ॥

Through the Perfect Guru, God is obtained; she is lovingly focused on the Lord, Har, Har.

ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਕਟਿਆ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਰਗਟਿਆਈ ਰਾਮ ॥

agiānu andhērā kaṭiā jōti pargaṭiāī rām ॥

अगिआनु अंधेरा कटिआ जोति परगटिआई राम ॥

The darkness of ignorance is dispelled, and the Divine Light radiantly shines forth.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥

jan nānak nāmu adhāru hai hari nāmi samāī rām ॥2॥

जन नानक नामु अधारु है हरि नामि समाई राम ॥२॥

The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is Nanak's only Support; he merges into the Lord's Name. ||2||

ਧਨ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਪਿਆਰੈ ਰਾਵੀਆ ਜਾਂ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥

dhan hari prabhi piārai rāvīā jāṃ hari prabh bhāī rām ॥

धन हरि प्रभि पिआरै रावीआ जां हरि प्रभ भाई राम ॥

The soul-bride is ravished and enjoyed by her Beloved Lord God, when the Lord God is pleased with her.

ਅਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਸਾਈਆ ਜਿਉ ਬਿਲਕ ਮਸਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥

akhī prēm kasāīā jiu bilak masāī rām ॥

अखी प्रेम कसाईआ जिउ बिलक मसाई राम ॥

My eyes are drawn to His Love, like the cat to the mouse.

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਆਘਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥

guri pūrai hari mēliā hari rasi āghāī rām ॥

गुरि पूरै हरि मेलिआ हरि रसि आघाई राम ॥

The Perfect Guru has united me with the Lord; I am satisfied by the subtle essence of the Lord.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਿਗਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥

jan nānak nāmi vigsiā hari hari liv lāī rām ॥3॥

जन नानक नामि विगसिआ हरि हरि लिव लाई राम ॥३॥

Servant Nanak blossoms forth in the Naam, the Name of the Lord; he is lovingly attuned to the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||

ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥

ham mūrakh mugadh milāiā hari kirpā dhārī rām ॥

हम मूरख मुगध मिलाइआ हरि किरपा धारी राम ॥

I am a fool and an idiot, but the Lord showered me with His Mercy, and united me with Himself.

ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥

dhanu dhannu gurū sābāsi hai jini haumai mārī rām ॥

धनु धंनु गुरू साबासि है जिनि हउमै मारी राम ॥

Blessed, blessed is the most wonderful Guru, who has conquered egotism.

ਜਿਨ੍‍ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆ ਵਡਭਾਗੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥

jin‍ vaḍbhāgīā vaḍbhāgu hai hari hari ur dhārī rām ॥

जिन्‍ वडभागीआ वडभागु है हरि हरि उर धारी राम ॥

Very fortunate, of blessed destiny are those, who enshrine the Lord, Har, Har, in their hearts.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂ ਨਾਮੇ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੨॥੪॥

jan nānak nāmu salāhi tū nāmē balihārī rām ॥4॥2॥4॥

जन नानक नामु सलाहि तू नामे बलिहारी राम ॥४॥२॥४॥

O servant Nanak, praise the Naam, and be a sacrifice to the Naam. ||4||2||4||
