ਮਨਿ ਬਿਲਾਸੁ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੁ ਘਣਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਭੂਲਿ ਖੁਸੀਆ ॥

Sriraag, Fifth Mehl:

ਮਨਿ ਬਿਲਾਸੁ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੁ ਘਣਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਭੂਲਿ ਖੁਸੀਆ ॥

mani bilāsu bahu raṅgu ghaṇā drisṭi bhūli khusīā ॥

मनि बिलासु बहु रंगु घणा द्रिसटि भूलि खुसीआ ॥

With the mind caught up in playful pleasures, involved in all sorts of amusements and sights that stagger the eyes, people are led astray.

ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰ ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹੀਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਹਸੇ ਪਰੀਆ ॥੧॥

chhatrdhār bādisāhīā vichi sahsē parīā ॥1॥

छत्रधार बादिसाहीआ विचि सहसे परीआ ॥१॥

The emperors sitting on their thrones are consumed by anxiety. ||1||

ਭਾਈ ਰੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

bhāī rē sukhu sādhsaṅgi pāiā ॥

भाई रे सुखु साधसंगि पाइआ ॥

O Siblings of Destiny, peace is found in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਲਿਖਿਆ ਲੇਖੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਬਿਧਾਤੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਹਸਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

likhiā lēkhu tini purkhi bidhātai dukhu sahasā miṭi gaiā ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

लिखिआ लेखु तिनि पुरखि बिधातै दुखु सहसा मिटि गइआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

If the Supreme Lord, the Architect of Destiny, writes such an order, then anguish and anxiety are erased. ||1||Pause||

ਜੇਤੇ ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਾ ਤੇਤੇ ਭਵਿ ਆਇਆ ॥

jētē thān thanntarā tētē bhavi āiā ॥

जेते थान थनंतरा तेते भवि आइआ ॥

There are so many places-I have wandered through them all.

ਧਨ ਪਾਤੀ ਵਡ ਭੂਮੀਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਰਿ ਪਰਿਆ ॥੨॥

dhan pātī vaḍ bhūmīā mērī mērī kari pariā ॥2॥

धन पाती वड भूमीआ मेरी मेरी करि परिआ ॥२॥

The masters of wealth and the great land-lords have fallen, crying out, ""This is mine! This is mine!""||2||

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਚਲਾਏ ਨਿਸੰਗ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤੈ ਅਫਰਿਆ ॥

hukmu chalāē nisaṅg hōi vartai aphariā ॥

हुकमु चलाए निसंग होइ वरतै अफरिआ ॥

They issue their commands fearlessly, and act in pride.

ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਲਇਓਨੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਖਾਕੁ ਰਲਿਆ ॥੩॥

sabhu kō vasgati kari laiōnu binu nāvai khāku raliā ॥3॥

सभु को वसगति करि लइओनु बिनु नावै खाकु रलिआ ॥३॥

They subdue all under their command, but without the Name, they are reduced to dust. ||3||

ਕੋਟਿ ਤੇਤੀਸ ਸੇਵਕਾ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਦਰਿ ਖਰਿਆ ॥

kōṭi tētīs sēvkā sidh sādhik dari khariā ॥

कोटि तेतीस सेवका सिध साधिक दरि खरिआ ॥

Even those who are served by the 33 million angelic beings, at whose door the Siddhas and the Saadhus stand,

ਗਿਰੰਬਾਰੀ ਵਡ ਸਾਹਬੀ ਸਭੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਪਨੁ ਥੀਆ ॥੪॥੨॥੭੨॥

girmbārī vaḍ sāhbī sabhu nānak supnu thīā ॥4॥2॥72॥

गिरंबारी वड साहबी सभु नानक सुपनु थीआ ॥४॥२॥७२॥

Who live in wondrous affluence and rule over mountains, oceans and vast dominions-O Nanak, in the end, all this vanishes like a dream! ||4||2||72||
