ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਚਾਉ ਘਣਾ ਸਾਚਿ ਵਿਗਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
mai mani chāu ghaṇā sāchi vigāsī rām ॥
मै मनि चाउ घणा साचि विगासी राम ॥
My mind is filled with such a great joy; I have blossomed forth in Truth.
ਮੋਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
mōhī prēm pirē prabhi abināsī rām ॥
मोही प्रेम पिरे प्रभि अबिनासी राम ॥
I am enticed by the love of my Husband Lord, the Eternal, Imperishable Lord God.
ਅਵਿਗਤੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਥੁ ਨਾਥਹ ਤਿਸੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ॥
avigtō hari nāthu nāthah tisai bhāvai sō thīai ॥
अविगतो हरि नाथु नाथह तिसै भावै सो थीऐ ॥
The Lord is everlasting, the Master of masters. Whatever He wills, happens.
ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਜੀਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਤੂੰ ਜੀਐ ॥
kirpālu sadā daiālu dātā jīā andri tūṃ jīai ॥
किरपालु सदा दइआलु दाता जीआ अंदरि तूं जीऐ ॥
O Great Giver, You are always kind and compassionate. You infuse life into all living beings.
ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਪੂਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸਿ ਰਹੇ ॥
mai avru giānu na dhiānu pūjā hari nāmu antri vasi rahē ॥
मै अवरु गिआनु न धिआनु पूजा हरि नामु अंतरि वसि रहे ॥
I have no other spiritual wisdom, meditation or worship; the Name of the Lord alone dwells deep within me.
ਭੇਖੁ ਭਵਨੀ ਹਠੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਚੁ ਗਹਿ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥
bhēkhu bhavnī haṭhu na jānā nānkā sachu gahi rahē ॥1॥
भेखु भवनी हठु न जाना नानका सचु गहि रहे ॥१॥
I know nothing about religious robes, pilgrimages or stubborn fanaticism; O Nanak, I hold tight to the Truth. ||1||
ਭਿੰਨੜੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਭਲੀ ਦਿਨਸ ਸੁਹਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
bhinnṛī raiṇi bhalī dinas suhāē rām ॥
भिंनड़ी रैणि भली दिनस सुहाए राम ॥
The night is beautiful, drenched with dew, and the day is delightful,
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਸੂਤੜੀਏ ਪਿਰਮੁ ਜਗਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
nij ghari sūtaṛīē pirmu jagāē rām ॥
निज घरि सूतड़ीए पिरमु जगाए राम ॥
When her Husband Lord wakes the sleeping soul-bride, in the home of the self.
ਨਵ ਹਾਣਿ ਨਵ ਧਨ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਾਗੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਣੀਆ ॥
nav hāṇi nav dhan sabdi jāgī āpaṇē pir bhāṇīā ॥
नव हाणि नव धन सबदि जागी आपणे पिर भाणीआ ॥
The young bride has awakened to the Word of the Shabad; she is pleasing to her Husband Lord.
ਤਜਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਣੀਆ ॥
taji kūṛu kapṭu subhāu dūjā chākrī lōkāṇīā ॥
तजि कूड़ु कपटु सुभाउ दूजा चाकरी लोकाणीआ ॥
So renounce falsehood, fraud, love of duality and working for people.
ਮੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਹਾਰੁ ਕੰਠੇ ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦੁ ਨੀਸਾਣਿਆ ॥
mai nāmu hari kā hāru kaṇṭhē sāc sabdu nīsāṇiā ॥
मै नामु हरि का हारु कंठे साच सबदु नीसाणिआ ॥
The Name of the Lord is my necklace, and I am anointed with the True Shabad.
ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣਿਆ ॥੨॥
kar jōṛi nānku sāchu māgai nadri kari tudhu bhāṇiā ॥2॥
कर जोड़ि नानकु साचु मागै नदरि करि तुधु भाणिआ ॥२॥
With his palms pressed together, Nanak begs for the gift of the True Name; please, bless me with Your Grace, through the pleasure of Your Will. ||2||
ਜਾਗੁ ਸਲੋਨੜੀਏ ਬੋਲੈ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
jāgu salōnṛīē bōlai gurbāṇī rām ॥
जागु सलोनड़ीए बोलै गुरबाणी राम ॥
Awake, O bride of splendored eyes, and chant the Word of the Guru's Bani.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਨਿਅੜੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
jini suṇi manniṛī akath kahāṇī rām ॥
जिनि सुणि मंनिअड़ी अकथ कहाणी राम ॥
Listen, and place your faith in the Unspoken Speech of the Lord.
ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝਏ ॥
akath kahāṇī padu nirbāṇī kō virlā gurmukhi būjhē ॥
अकथ कहाणी पदु निरबाणी को विरला गुरमुखि बूझए ॥
The Unspoken Speech, the state of Nirvaanaa - how rare is the Gurmukh who understands this.
ਓਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਸੋਝੀ ਸੂਝਏ ॥
ōhu sabdi samāē āpu gavāē tribhvaṇ sōjhī sūjhē ॥
ओहु सबदि समाए आपु गवाए त्रिभवण सोझी सूझए ॥
Merging in the Word of the Shabad, self-conceit is eradicated, and the three worlds are revealed to her understanding.
ਰਹੈ ਅਤੀਤੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਾਚੁ ਮਨਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਿਆ ॥
rahai atītu aprampri rātā sāchu mani guṇ sāriā ॥
रहै अतीतु अपरंपरि राता साचु मनि गुण सारिआ ॥
Remaining detached, with infinity infusing, the true mind cherishes the virtues of the Lord.
ਓਹੁ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬ ਠਾਈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥੩॥
ōhu pūri rahiā sarab ṭhāī nānkā uri dhāriā ॥3॥
ओहु पूरि रहिआ सरब ठाई नानका उरि धारिआ ॥३॥
He is fully pervading and permeating all places; Nanak has enshrined Him within his heart. ||3||
ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਇੜੀਏ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਨੇਹੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
mahli bulāiṛīē bhagti sanēhī rām ॥
महलि बुलाइड़ीए भगति सनेही राम ॥
The Lord is calling you to the Mansion of His Presence; O soul-bride, He is the Lover of His devotees.
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਰਹਸੀ ਸੀਝਸਿ ਦੇਹੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
gurmati mani rahsī sījhsi dēhī rām ॥
गुरमति मनि रहसी सीझसि देही राम ॥
Following the Guru's Teachings, your mind shall be delighted, and your body shall be fulfilled.
ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਰੀਝੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਝੈ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਥੁ ਪਛਾਣਏ ॥
manu māri rījhai sabdi sījhai trai lōk nāthu pachhāṇē ॥
मनु मारि रीझै सबदि सीझै त्रै लोक नाथु पछाणए ॥
Conquer and subdue your mind, and love the Word of the Shabad; reform yourself, and realize the Lord of the three worlds.
ਮਨੁ ਡੀਗਿ ਡੋਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਕਤ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਜਾਣਏ ॥
manu ḍīgi ḍōli na jāi kat hī āpaṇā piru jāṇaē ॥
मनु डीगि डोलि न जाइ कत ही आपणा पिरु जाणए ॥
Her mind shall not waver or wander anywhere else, when she comes to know her Husband Lord.
ਮੈ ਆਧਾਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਖਸਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੈ ਤਾਣੁ ਤਕੀਆ ਤੇਰਓ ॥
mai ādhāru tērā tū khasmu mērā mai tāṇu takīā tēraō ॥
मै आधारु तेरा तू खसमु मेरा मै ताणु तकीआ तेरओ ॥
You are my only Support, You are my Lord and Master. You are my strength and anchor.
ਸਾਚਿ ਸੂਚਾ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਝਗਰੁ ਨਿਬੇਰਓ ॥੪॥੨॥
sāchi sūchhā sadā nānak gur sabdi jhagru nibērō ॥4॥2॥
साचि सूचा सदा नानक गुर सबदि झगरु निबेरओ ॥४॥२॥
She is forever truthful and pure, O Nanak; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, conflicts are resolved. ||4||2||

भेखु भवनी हठु न जाना नानका सचु गहि रहे ॥१॥
I know nothing about religious robes, pilgrimages or stubborn fanaticism; O Nanak, I hold tight to the Truth. ||1||
ਭਿੰਨੜੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਭਲੀ ਦਿਨਸ ਸੁਹਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
bhinnṛī raiṇi bhalī dinas suhāē rām ॥
भिंनड़ी रैणि भली दिनस सुहाए राम ॥
The night is beautiful, drenched with dew, and the day is delightful,
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਸੂਤੜੀਏ ਪਿਰਮੁ ਜਗਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
nij ghari sūtaṛīē pirmu jagāē rām ॥
निज घरि सूतड़ीए पिरमु जगाए राम ॥
When her Husband Lord wakes the sleeping soul-bride, in the home of the self.
ਨਵ ਹਾਣਿ ਨਵ ਧਨ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਾਗੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਣੀਆ ॥
nav hāṇi nav dhan sabdi jāgī āpaṇē pir bhāṇīā ॥
नव हाणि नव धन सबदि जागी आपणे पिर भाणीआ ॥
The young bride has awakened to the Word of the Shabad; she is pleasing to her Husband Lord.
ਤਜਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਣੀਆ ॥
taji kūṛu kapṭu subhāu dūjā chākrī lōkāṇīā ॥
तजि कूड़ु कपटु सुभाउ दूजा चाकरी लोकाणीआ ॥
So renounce falsehood, fraud, love of duality and working for people.
ਮੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਹਾਰੁ ਕੰਠੇ ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦੁ ਨੀਸਾਣਿਆ ॥
mai nāmu hari kā hāru kaṇṭhē sāc sabdu nīsāṇiā ॥
मै नामु हरि का हारु कंठे साच सबदु नीसाणिआ ॥
The Name of the Lord is my necklace, and I am anointed with the True Shabad.
ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣਿਆ ॥੨॥
kar jōṛi nānku sāchu māgai nadri kari tudhu bhāṇiā ॥2॥
कर जोड़ि नानकु साचु मागै नदरि करि तुधु भाणिआ ॥२॥
With his palms pressed together, Nanak begs for the gift of the True Name; please, bless me with Your Grace, through the pleasure of Your Will. ||2||
ਜਾਗੁ ਸਲੋਨੜੀਏ ਬੋਲੈ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
jāgu salōnṛīē bōlai gurbāṇī rām ॥
जागु सलोनड़ीए बोलै गुरबाणी राम ॥
Awake, O bride of splendored eyes, and chant the Word of the Guru's Bani.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਨਿਅੜੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
jini suṇi manniṛī akath kahāṇī rām ॥
जिनि सुणि मंनिअड़ी अकथ कहाणी राम ॥
Listen, and place your faith in the Unspoken Speech of the Lord.
ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝਏ ॥
akath kahāṇī padu nirbāṇī kō virlā gurmukhi būjhē ॥
अकथ कहाणी पदु निरबाणी को विरला गुरमुखि बूझए ॥
The Unspoken Speech, the state of Nirvaanaa - how rare is the Gurmukh who understands this.
ਓਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਸੋਝੀ ਸੂਝਏ ॥
ōhu sabdi samāē āpu gavāē tribhvaṇ sōjhī sūjhē ॥
ओहु सबदि समाए आपु गवाए त्रिभवण सोझी सूझए ॥
Merging in the Word of the Shabad, self-conceit is eradicated, and the three worlds are revealed to her understanding.
ਰਹੈ ਅਤੀਤੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਾਚੁ ਮਨਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਿਆ ॥
rahai atītu aprampri rātā sāchu mani guṇ sāriā ॥
रहै अतीतु अपरंपरि राता साचु मनि गुण सारिआ ॥
Remaining detached, with infinity infusing, the true mind cherishes the virtues of the Lord.
ਓਹੁ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬ ਠਾਈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥੩॥
ōhu pūri rahiā sarab ṭhāī nānkā uri dhāriā ॥3॥
ओहु पूरि रहिआ सरब ठाई नानका उरि धारिआ ॥३॥
He is fully pervading and permeating all places; Nanak has enshrined Him within his heart. ||3||
ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਇੜੀਏ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਨੇਹੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
mahli bulāiṛīē bhagti sanēhī rām ॥
महलि बुलाइड़ीए भगति सनेही राम ॥
The Lord is calling you to the Mansion of His Presence; O soul-bride, He is the Lover of His devotees.
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਰਹਸੀ ਸੀਝਸਿ ਦੇਹੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
gurmati mani rahsī sījhsi dēhī rām ॥
गुरमति मनि रहसी सीझसि देही राम ॥
Following the Guru's Teachings, your mind shall be delighted, and your body shall be fulfilled.
ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਰੀਝੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਝੈ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਥੁ ਪਛਾਣਏ ॥
manu māri rījhai sabdi sījhai trai lōk nāthu pachhāṇē ॥
मनु मारि रीझै सबदि सीझै त्रै लोक नाथु पछाणए ॥
Conquer and subdue your mind, and love the Word of the Shabad; reform yourself, and realize the Lord of the three worlds.
ਮਨੁ ਡੀਗਿ ਡੋਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਕਤ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਜਾਣਏ ॥
manu ḍīgi ḍōli na jāi kat hī āpaṇā piru jāṇaē ॥
मनु डीगि डोलि न जाइ कत ही आपणा पिरु जाणए ॥
Her mind shall not waver or wander anywhere else, when she comes to know her Husband Lord.
ਮੈ ਆਧਾਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਖਸਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੈ ਤਾਣੁ ਤਕੀਆ ਤੇਰਓ ॥
mai ādhāru tērā tū khasmu mērā mai tāṇu takīā tēraō ॥
मै आधारु तेरा तू खसमु मेरा मै ताणु तकीआ तेरओ ॥
You are my only Support, You are my Lord and Master. You are my strength and anchor.
ਸਾਚਿ ਸੂਚਾ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਝਗਰੁ ਨਿਬੇਰਓ ॥੪॥੨॥
sāchi sūchhā sadā nānak gur sabdi jhagru nibērō ॥4॥2॥
साचि सूचा सदा नानक गुर सबदि झगरु निबेरओ ॥४॥२॥
She is forever truthful and pure, O Nanak; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, conflicts are resolved. ||4||2||

Bilaaval, First Mehl:
ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਚਾਉ ਘਣਾ ਸਾਚਿ ਵਿਗਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
mai mani chāu ghaṇā sāchi vigāsī rām ॥
मै मनि चाउ घणा साचि विगासी राम ॥
My mind is filled with such a great joy; I have blossomed forth in Truth.
ਮੋਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
mōhī prēm pirē prabhi abināsī rām ॥
मोही प्रेम पिरे प्रभि अबिनासी राम ॥
I am enticed by the love of my Husband Lord, the Eternal, Imperishable Lord God.
ਅਵਿਗਤੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਥੁ ਨਾਥਹ ਤਿਸੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ॥
avigtō hari nāthu nāthah tisai bhāvai sō thīai ॥
अविगतो हरि नाथु नाथह तिसै भावै सो थीऐ ॥
The Lord is everlasting, the Master of masters. Whatever He wills, happens.
ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਜੀਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਤੂੰ ਜੀਐ ॥
kirpālu sadā daiālu dātā jīā andri tūṃ jīai ॥
किरपालु सदा दइआलु दाता जीआ अंदरि तूं जीऐ ॥
O Great Giver, You are always kind and compassionate. You infuse life into all living beings.
ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਪੂਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸਿ ਰਹੇ ॥
mai avru giānu na dhiānu pūjā hari nāmu antri vasi rahē ॥
मै अवरु गिआनु न धिआनु पूजा हरि नामु अंतरि वसि रहे ॥
I have no other spiritual wisdom, meditation or worship; the Name of the Lord alone dwells deep within me.
ਭੇਖੁ ਭਵਨੀ ਹਠੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਚੁ ਗਹਿ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥
