ਮਾਈ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ ਸਫਲ ਆਇਆ ਜੀਵਨ ਫਲੁ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

māī jō prabh kē gun gāvai ॥ saphal āiā jīvan phalu tā kō pārbraham liv lāvai ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

माई जो प्रभ के गुन गावै ॥ सफल आइआ जीवन फलु ता को पारब्रहम लिव लावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

O mother, how fruitful is the birth of one who sings the Glories of God, and enshrines love for the Supreme Lord God. ||1||Pause||

ਸੁੰਦਰੁ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਸੂਰੁ ਸੋ ਬੇਤਾ ਜੋ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥

sundru sughṛu sūru sō bētā jō sādhū saṅgu pāvai ॥

सुंदरु सुघड़ु सूरु सो बेता जो साधू संगु पावै ॥

Beautiful, wise, brave and divine is one who obtains the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਨਾਮੁ ਉਚਾਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜੋਨੀ ਧਾਵੈ ॥੧॥

nāmu uchāru karē hari rasnā bahuṛi na jōnī dhāvai ॥1॥

नामु उचारु करे हरि रसना बहुड़ि न जोनी धावै ॥१॥

He chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, with his tongue, and does not have to wander in reincarnation again. ||1||

ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਆਨ ਨ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਆਵੈ ॥

pūran brahmu raviā man tan mahi ān na drisṭī āvai ॥

पूरन ब्रहमु रविआ मन तन महि आन न द्रिसटी आवै ॥

The Perfect Lord God pervades his mind and body; he does not look upon any other.

ਨਰਕ ਰੋਗ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਵਤ ਜਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੧੪॥

narak rōg nahī hōvat jan saṅgi nānak jisu laṛi lāvai ॥2॥14॥

नरक रोग नही होवत जन संगि नानक जिसु लड़ि लावै ॥२॥१४॥

Hell and disease do not afflict one who joins the Company of the Lord's humble servants, O Nanak; the Lord attaches him to the hem of His robe. ||2||14||
