लख जप तप लख संजमां होम जग लख वरत करंदे॥

ਲਖ ਤੀਰਥ ਲਖ ਊਲਖਾ ਲਖ ਪੁਰੀਆ ਲਖ ਪੁਰਬ ਲਗੰਦੇ॥

लख तीरथ लख ऊलखा लख पुरीआ लख पुरब लगंदे॥

Millions of holy journeys, charities are undertaken and millions of holy occasions are celebrated.

ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਲ ਦੇਹੁਰੇ ਲਖ ਪੁਜਾਰੀ ਪੂਜ ਕਰੰਦੇ॥

dēvī dēval dēhurē lakh pujārī pūj karandē॥

देवी देवल देहुरे लख पुजारी पूज करंदे॥

In the abodes of goddesses, and the temples, millions of priests perform worship.

ਜਲ ਥਲ ਮਹੀਅਲ ਭਰਮਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਲਖ ਫੇਰਿ ਫਿਰੰਦੇ॥

jal thal mahīal bharamdē karam dharam lakh phēri phirndē॥

जल थल महीअल भरमदे करम धरम लख फेरि फिरंदे॥

Moving on earth and in the sky, millions practitioners of dharma-oriented activities run hither and thither.

ਲਖ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਣਖੰਡ ਲਖ ਲਖ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਹੋਇ ਭਵੰਦੇ॥

lakh parbat vaṇkhaṇḍ lakh lakh udāsī hōi bhavndē॥

लख परबत वणखंड लख लख उदासी होइ भवंदे॥

Millions of people becoming unconcerned with worldy affairs go on moving in the mountains and forests.

ਅਗਨੀ ਅੰਗੁ ਜਲਾਇੰਦੇ ਲਖ ਹਿਮੰਚਲਿ ਜਾਇ ਗਲੰਦੇ॥

agnī aṅgu jalāindē lakh himñchali jāi galndē॥

अगनी अंगु जलाइंदे लख हिमंचलि जाइ गलंदे॥

Millions are there who die by burning themselves and millions are there who die by freezing themselves In the snowy mountains.

ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਲਹੰਦੇ ॥੧੮॥

guru sikhī sukhu tilu na lahndē ॥18॥

गुरु सिखी सुखु तिलु न लहंदे ॥१८॥

But they all cannot take even a fraction of joy ,Attainable in the life of a Sikh of the Guru.
