Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਲਾਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਰੰਗੀਲੇ ॥

lāl gōpāl daiāl raṅgīlē ॥

लाल गोपाल दइआल रंगीले ॥

O my Love, Sustainer of the World, Merciful, Loving Lord,

ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੇ ॥

gahir gambhīr bēant gōvindē ॥

गहिर गंभीर बेअंत गोविंदे ॥

Profoundly Deep, Infinite Lord of the Universe,

ਊਚ ਅਥਾਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਹਉ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

ūch athāh bēant suāmī simri simri hau jīvāṃ jīu ॥1॥

ऊच अथाह बेअंत सुआमी सिमरि सिमरि हउ जीवां जीउ ॥१॥

Highest of the High, Unfathomable, Infinite Lord and Master: continually remembering You in deep meditation, I live. ||1||

ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਅਮੋਲੇ ॥

dukh bhañjan nidhān amōlē ॥

दुख भंजन निधान अमोले ॥

O Destroyer of pain, Priceless Treasure,

ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਅਥਾਹ ਅਤੋਲੇ ॥

nirbhau nirvair athāh atōlē ॥

निरभउ निरवैर अथाह अतोले ॥

Fearless, free of hate, Unfathomable, Immeasurable,

ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੰਭੌ ਮਨ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਠੰਢਾ ਥੀਵਾਂ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

akāl mūrti ajūnī sambhau man simrat ṭhaṇḍhā thīvāṃ jīu ॥2॥

अकाल मूरति अजूनी संभौ मन सिमरत ठंढा थीवां जीउ ॥२॥

Of Undying Form, Unborn, Self-illumined: remembering You in meditation, my mind is filled with a deep and profound peace. ||2||

ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ॥

sadā saṅgī hari raṅg gōpālā ॥

सदा संगी हरि रंग गोपाला ॥

The Joyous Lord, the Sustainer of the World, is my constant Companion.

ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥

ūch nīch karē pratipālā ॥

ऊच नीच करे प्रतिपाला ॥

He cherishes the high and the low.

ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਇਣੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵਾਂ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

nāmu rasāiṇu manu triptāiṇu gurmukhi ammritu pīvāṃ jīu ॥3॥

नामु रसाइणु मनु त्रिपताइणु गुरमुखि अंम्रितु पीवां जीउ ॥३॥

The Nectar of the Name satisfies my mind. As Gurmukh, I drink in the Ambrosial Nectar. ||3||

ਦੁਖਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥

dukhi sukhi piārē tudhu dhiāī ॥

दुखि सुखि पिआरे तुधु धिआई ॥

In suffering and in comfort, I meditate on You, O Beloved.

ਏਹ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ॥

ēh sumti gurū tē pāī ॥

एह सुमति गुरू ते पाई ॥

I have obtained this sublime understanding from the Guru.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਧਰ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੀਵਾਂ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੯॥੧੬॥

nānak kī dhar tūṃhai ṭhākur hari raṅgi pāri parīvāṃ jīu ॥4॥9॥16॥

नानक की धर तूंहै ठाकुर हरि रंगि पारि परीवां जीउ ॥४॥९॥१६॥

You are Nanak's Support, O my Lord and Master; through Your Love, I swim across to the other side. ||4||9||16||
