ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਕਿਰਤਿ ਕਰਮ ਕੇ ਵੀਛੁੜੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਰਾਮ ॥

kirti karam kē vīchhuṛē kari kirpā mēlhu rām ॥

किरति करम के वीछुड़े करि किरपा मेलहु राम ॥

By the actions we have committed, we are separated from You. Please show Your Mercy, and unite us with Yourself, Lord.

ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਭ੍ਰਮੇ ਥਕਿ ਆਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਾਮ ॥

chāri kuṇṭ dah dis bhramē thaki āē prabh kī sām ॥

चारि कुंट दह दिस भ्रमे थकि आए प्रभ की साम ॥

We have grown weary of wandering to the four corners of the earth and in the ten directions. We have come to Your Sanctuary, God.

ਧੇਨੁ ਦੁਧੈ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਕਿਤੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਮ ॥

dhēnu dudhai tē bāhrī kitai na āvai kām ॥

धेनु दुधै ते बाहरी कितै न आवै काम ॥

Without milk, a cow serves no purpose.

ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਖ ਕੁਮਲਾਵਤੀ ਉਪਜਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਦਾਮ ॥

jal binu sākh kumlāvtī upjahi nāhī dām ॥

जल बिनु साख कुमलावती उपजहि नाही दाम ॥

Without water, the crop withers, and it will not bring a good price.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਹ ਨ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਸਾਜਨੈ ਕਤ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਸਰਾਮ ॥

hari nāh na milīai sājnai kat pāīai bisrām ॥

हरि नाह न मिलीऐ साजनै कत पाईऐ बिसराम ॥

If we do not meet the Lord, our Friend, how can we find our place of rest?

ਜਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤੁ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਈ ਭਠਿ ਨਗਰ ਸੇ ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ॥

jitu ghari hari kantu na pragṭaī bhaṭhi nagar sē grām ॥

जितु घरि हरि कंतु न प्रगटई भठि नगर से ग्राम ॥

Those homes, those hearts, in which the Husband Lord is not manifest-those towns and villages are like burning furnaces.

ਸ੍ਰਬ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਤੰਬੋਲ ਰਸ ਸਣੁ ਦੇਹੀ ਸਭ ਖਾਮ ॥

srab sīgār tambōl ras saṇu dēhī sabh khām ॥

स्रब सीगार तंबोल रस सणु देही सभ खाम ॥

All decorations, the chewing of betel to sweeten the breath, and the body itself, are all useless and vain.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੰਤ ਵਿਹੂਣੀਆ ਮੀਤ ਸਜਣ ਸਭਿ ਜਾਮ ॥

prabh suāmī kant vihūṇīā mīt sajaṇ sabhi jām ॥

प्रभ सुआमी कंत विहूणीआ मीत सजण सभि जाम ॥

Without God, our Husband, our Lord and Master, all friends and companions are like the Messenger of Death.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥

nānak kī bēnntīā kari kirpā dījai nāmu ॥

नानक की बेनंतीआ करि किरपा दीजै नामु ॥

This is Nanak's prayer: ""Please show Your Mercy, and bestow Your Name.

ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਧਾਮ ॥੧॥

hari mēlhu suāmī saṅgi prabh jis kā nihchal dhām ॥1॥

हरि मेलहु सुआमी संगि प्रभ जिस का निहचल धाम ॥१॥

O my Lord and Master, please unite me with Yourself, O God, in the Eternal Mansion of Your Presence"". ||1||

ਚੇਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਅਰਾਧੀਐ ਹੋਵੈ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਘਣਾ ॥

chēti gōvindu arādhīai hōvai anndu ghaṇā ॥

चेति गोविंदु अराधीऐ होवै अनंदु घणा ॥

In the month of Chayt, by meditating on the Lord of the Universe, a deep and profound joy arises.

ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਰਸਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਣਾ ॥

sant janā mili pāīai rasnā nāmu bhaṇā ॥

संत जना मिलि पाईऐ रसना नामु भणा ॥

Meeting with the humble Saints, the Lord is found, as we chant His Name with our tongues.

ਜਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਏ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਗਣਾ ॥

jini pāiā prabhu āpaṇā āē tishi gaṇā ॥

जिनि पाइआ प्रभु आपणा आए तिसहि गणा ॥

Those who have found God-blessed is their coming into this world.

ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਜੀਵਣਾ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਜਣਾ ॥

iku khinu tisu binu jīvṇā birthā janmu jaṇā ॥

इकु खिनु तिसु बिनु जीवणा बिरथा जनमु जणा ॥

Those who live without Him, for even an instant-their lives are rendered useless.

ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿਆ ਰਵਿਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਣਾ ॥

jali thali mahīli pūriā raviā vichi vaṇā ॥

जलि थलि महीअलि पूरिआ रविआ विचि वणा ॥

The Lord is totally pervading the water, the land, and all space. He is contained in the forests as well.

ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਕਿਤੜਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਗਣਾ ॥

sō prabhu chiti na āvaī kitaṛā dukhu gaṇā ॥

सो प्रभु चिति न आवई कितड़ा दुखु गणा ॥

Those who do not remember God-how much pain must they suffer!

ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਿੰਨਾ ਭਾਗੁ ਮਣਾ ॥

jinī rāviā sō prabhū tinnā bhāgu maṇā ॥

जिनी राविआ सो प्रभू तिंना भागु मणा ॥

Those who dwell upon their God have great good fortune.

ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੰਉ ਮਨੁ ਲੋਚਦਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਿਆਸ ਮਨਾ ॥

hari darsan kaṃu manu lōcdā nānak piās manā ॥

हरि दरसन कंउ मनु लोचदा नानक पिआस मना ॥

My mind yearns for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. O Nanak, my mind is so thirsty!

ਚੇਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਪਾਇ ਲਗਾ ॥੨॥

chēti milāē sō prabhū tis kai pāi lagā ॥2॥

चेति मिलाए सो प्रभू तिस कै पाइ लगा ॥२॥

I touch the feet of one who unites me with God in the month of Chayt. ||2||

ਵੈਸਾਖਿ ਧੀਰਨਿ ਕਿਉ ਵਾਢੀਆ ਜਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਿਛੋਹੁ ॥

vaisākhi dhīrni kiu vāḍhīā jinā prēm bichhōhu ॥

वैसाखि धीरनि किउ वाढीआ जिना प्रेम बिछोहु ॥

In the month of Vaisaakh, how can the bride be patient? She is separated from her Beloved.

ਹਰਿ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਲਗੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਧੋਹੁ ॥

hari sājnu purkhu visāri kai lagī māiā dhōhu ॥

हरि साजनु पुरखु विसारि कै लगी माइआ धोहु ॥

She has forgotten the Lord, her Life-companion, her Master; she has become attached to Maya, the deceitful one.

ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਧਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਅਵਿਨਾਸੀ ਓਹੁ ॥

putr kalatr na saṅgi dhanā hari avināsī ōhu ॥

पुत्र कलत्र न संगि धना हरि अविनासी ओहु ॥

Neither son, nor spouse, nor wealth shall go along with you-only the Eternal Lord.

ਪਲਚਿ ਪਲਚਿ ਸਗਲੀ ਮੁਈ ਝੂਠੈ ਧੰਧੈ ਮੋਹੁ ॥

palchi palchi saglī muī jhūṭhai dhandhai mōhu ॥

पलचि पलचि सगली मुई झूठै धंधै मोहु ॥

Entangled and enmeshed in the love of false occupations, the whole world is perishing.

ਇਕਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਗੈ ਲਈਅਹਿ ਖੋਹਿ ॥

iksu hari kē nām binu agai laīahi khōhi ॥

इकसु हरि के नाम बिनु अगै लईअहि खोहि ॥

Without the Naam, the Name of the One Lord, they lose their lives in the hereafter.

ਦਯੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਵਿਗੁਚਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥

dayu visāri vigucṇā prabh binu avru na kōi ॥

दयु विसारि विगुचणा प्रभ बिनु अवरु न कोइ ॥

Forgetting the Merciful Lord, they are ruined. Without God, there is no other at all.

ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਚਰਣੀ ਜੋ ਲਗੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਇ ॥

prītam charṇī jō lagē tin kī nirmal sōi ॥

प्रीतम चरणी जो लगे तिन की निरमल सोइ ॥

Pure is the reputation of those who are attached to the Feet of the Beloved Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥

nānak kī prabh bēntī prabh milhu parāpti hōi ॥

नानक की प्रभ बेनती प्रभ मिलहु परापति होइ ॥

Nanak makes this prayer to God: ""Please, come and unite me with Yourself.""

ਵੈਸਾਖੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਤਾਂ ਲਗੈ ਜਾ ਸੰਤੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥

vaisākhu suhāvā tāṃ lagai jā santu bhēṭai hari sōi ॥3॥

वैसाखु सुहावा तां लगै जा संतु भेटै हरि सोइ ॥३॥

The month of Vaisaakh is beautiful and pleasant, when the Saint causes me to meet the Lord. ||3||

ਹਰਿ ਜੇਠਿ ਜੁੜੰਦਾ ਲੋੜੀਐ ਜਿਸੁ ਅਗੈ ਸਭਿ ਨਿਵੰਨਿ ॥

hari jēṭhi juṛndā lōṛīai jisu agai sabhi nivnni ॥

हरि जेठि जुड़ंदा लोड़ीऐ जिसु अगै सभि निवंनि ॥

In the month of Jayt'h, the bride longs to meet with the Lord. All bow in humility before Him.

ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣ ਦਾਵਣਿ ਲਗਿਆ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਦੇਈ ਬੰਨਿ ॥

hari sajaṇ dāvṇi lagiā kisai na dēī banni ॥

हरि सजण दावणि लगिआ किसै न देई बंनि ॥

One who has grasped the hem of the robe of the Lord, the True Friend-no one can keep him in bondage.

ਮਾਣਕ ਮੋਤੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਉਨ ਲਗੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਸੰਨਿ ॥

māṇak mōtī nāmu prabh un lagai nāhī sanni ॥

माणक मोती नामु प्रभ उन लगै नाही संनि ॥

God's Name is the Jewel, the Pearl. It cannot be stolen or taken away.

ਰੰਗ ਸਭੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੈ ਜੇਤੇ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੰਨਿ ॥

raṅg sabhē nārāiṇai jētē mani bhāvnni ॥

रंग सभे नाराइणै जेते मनि भावंनि ॥

In the Lord are all pleasures which please the mind.

ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਲੋੜੇ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਜੀਅ ਕਰੰਨਿ ॥

jō hari lōṛē sō karē sōī jīa karnni ॥

जो हरि लोड़े सो करे सोई जीअ करंनि ॥

As the Lord wishes, so He acts, and so His creatures act.

ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਈ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਧੰਨਿ ॥

jō prabhi kītē āpaṇē sēī kahīhi dhanni ॥

जो प्रभि कीते आपणे सेई कहीअहि धंनि ॥

They alone are called blessed, whom God has made His Own.

ਆਪਣ ਲੀਆ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਕਿਉ ਰੋਵੰਨਿ ॥

āpaṇ līā jē milai vichhuṛi kiu rōvnni ॥

आपण लीआ जे मिलै विछुड़ि किउ रोवंनि ॥

If people could meet the Lord by their own efforts, why would they be crying out in the pain of separation?

ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਪਰਾਪਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣੰਨਿ ॥

sādhū saṅgu parāpatē nānak raṅg māṇnni ॥

साधू संगु परापते नानक रंग माणंनि ॥

Meeting Him in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, O Nanak, celestial bliss is enjoyed.

ਹਰਿ ਜੇਠੁ ਰੰਗੀਲਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਧਣੀ ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਭਾਗੁ ਮਥੰਨਿ ॥੪॥

hari jēṭhu raṅgīlā tisu dhaṇī jis kai bhāgu mathnni ॥4॥

हरि जेठु रंगीला तिसु धणी जिस कै भागु मथंनि ॥४॥

In the month of Jayt'h, the playful Husband Lord meets her, upon whose forehead such good destiny is recorded. ||4||

ਆਸਾੜੁ ਤਪੰਦਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਗੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਹੁ ਨ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਪਾਸਿ ॥

āsāṛu tapndā tisu lagai hari nāhu na jinnā pāsi ॥

आसाड़ु तपंदा तिसु लगै हरि नाहु न जिंना पासि ॥

The month of Aasaarh seems burning hot, to those who are not close to their Husband Lord.

ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਕੈ ਮਾਣਸ ਸੰਦੀ ਆਸ ॥

jagjīvan purkhu tiāgi kai māṇas sandī ās ॥

जगजीवन पुरखु तिआगि कै माणस संदी आस ॥

They have forsaken God the Primal Being, the Life of the World, and they have come to rely upon mere mortals.

ਦੁਯੈ ਭਾਇ ਵਿਗੁਚੀਐ ਗਲਿ ਪਈਸੁ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸ ॥

duyai bhāi viguchīai gali paīsu jam kī phās ॥

दुयै भाइ विगुचीऐ गलि पईसु जम की फास ॥

In the love of duality, the soul-bride is ruined; around her neck she wears the noose of Death.

ਜੇਹਾ ਬੀਜੈ ਸੋ ਲੁਣੈ ਮਥੈ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆਸੁ ॥

jēhā bījai sō luṇai mathai jō likhiāsu ॥

जेहा बीजै सो लुणै मथै जो लिखिआसु ॥

As you plant, so shall you harvest; your destiny is recorded on your forehead.

ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਣੀ ਪਛੁਤਾਣੀ ਉਠਿ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਨਿਰਾਸ ॥

raiṇi vihāṇī pachhutāṇī uṭhi chalī gaī nirās ॥

रैणि विहाणी पछुताणी उठि चली गई निरास ॥

The life-night passes away, and in the end, one comes to regret and repent, and then depart with no hope at all.

ਜਿਨ ਕੌ ਸਾਧੂ ਭੇਟੀਐ ਸੋ ਦਰਗਹ ਹੋਇ ਖਲਾਸੁ ॥

jin kau sādhū bhēṭīai sō dargah hōi khalāsu ॥

जिन कौ साधू भेटीऐ सो दरगह होइ खलासु ॥

Those who meet with the Holy Saints are liberated in the Court of the Lord.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪਣੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਹੋਇ ਪਿਆਸ ॥

kari kirpā prabh āpṇī tērē darsan hōi piās ॥

करि किरपा प्रभ आपणी तेरे दरसन होइ पिआस ॥

Show Your Mercy to me, O God; I am thirsty for the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥

prabh tudhu binu dūjā kō nahī nānak kī ardāsi ॥

प्रभ तुधु बिनु दूजा को नही नानक की अरदासि ॥

Without You, God, there is no other at all. This is Nanak's humble prayer.

ਆਸਾੜੁ ਸੁਹੰਦਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਗੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥੫॥

āsāṛu suhandā tisu lagai jisu mani hari charaṇ nivās ॥5॥

आसाड़ु सुहंदा तिसु लगै जिसु मनि हरि चरण निवास ॥५॥

The month of Aasaarh is pleasant, when the Feet of the Lord abide in the mind. ||5||

ਸਾਵਣਿ ਸਰਸੀ ਕਾਮਣੀ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥

sāvṇi sarasī kāmaṇī charan kamal siu piāru ॥

सावणि सरसी कामणी चरन कमल सिउ पिआरु ॥

In the month of Saawan, the soul-bride is happy, if she falls in love with the Lotus Feet of the Lord.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਤਾ ਸਚ ਰੰਗਿ ਇਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥

manu tanu ratā sac raṅgi ikō nāmu adhāru ॥

मनु तनु रता सच रंगि इको नामु अधारु ॥

Her mind and body are imbued with the Love of the True One; His Name is her only Support.

ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰੰਗ ਕੂੜਾਵਿਆ ਦਿਸਨਿ ਸਭੇ ਛਾਰੁ ॥

bikhiā raṅg kūṛāviā disni sabhē chhāru ॥

बिखिआ रंग कूड़ाविआ दिसनि सभे छारु ॥

The pleasures of corruption are false. All that is seen shall turn to ashes.

ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬੂੰਦ ਸੁਹਾਵਣੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਪੀਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥

hari ammrit būnd suhāv??ī mili sādhū pīvṇahāru ॥

हरि अंम्रित बूंद सुहावणी मिलि साधू पीवणहारु ॥

The drops of the Lord's Nectar are so beautiful! Meeting the Holy Saint, we drink these in.

ਵਣੁ ਤਿਣੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਥ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥

vaṇu tiṇu prabh saṅgi mauliā sammrath purakh apāru ॥

वणु तिणु प्रभ संगि मउलिआ संम्रथ पुरख अपारु ॥

The forests and the meadows are rejuvenated and refreshed with the Love of God, the All-powerful, Infinite Primal Being.

ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਣੈ ਨੋ ਮਨੁ ਲੋਚਦਾ ਕਰਮਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥

hari milṇai nō manu lōcdā karmi milāvṇahāru ॥

हरि मिलणै नो मनु लोचदा करमि मिलावणहारु ॥

My mind yearns to meet the Lord. If only He would show His Mercy, and unite me with Himself!

ਜਿਨੀ ਸਖੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੰਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥

jinī sakhīē prabhu pāiā haṃu tin kai sad balihār ॥

जिनी सखीए प्रभु पाइआ हंउ तिन कै सद बलिहार ॥

Those brides who have obtained God-I am forever a sacrifice to them.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਮਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥

nānak hari jī maiā kari sabdi savārṇahāru ॥

नानक हरि जी मइआ करि सबदि सवारणहारु ॥

O Nanak, when the Dear Lord shows kindness, He adorns His bride with the Word of His Shabad.

ਸਾਵਣੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਸੁਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਿਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਰਿ ਹਾਰੁ ॥੬॥

sāvṇu tinā suhāgṇī jin rām nāmu uri hāru ॥6॥

सावणु तिना सुहागणी जिन राम नामु उरि हारु ॥६॥

Saawan is delightful for those happy soul-brides whose hearts are adorned with the Necklace of the Lord's Name. ||6||

ਭਾਦੁਇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣੀਆ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਗਾ ਹੇਤੁ ॥

bhādui bharmi bhulāṇīā dūjai lagā hētu ॥

भादुइ भरमि भुलाणीआ दूजै लगा हेतु ॥

In the month of Bhaadon, she is deluded by doubt, because of her attachment to duality.

ਲਖ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਕਾਰਜਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੇਤੁ ॥

lakh sīgār baṇāiā kārji nāhī kētu ॥

लख सीगार बणाइआ कारजि नाही केतु ॥

She may wear thousands of ornaments, but they are of no use at all.

ਜਿਤੁ ਦਿਨਿ ਦੇਹ ਬਿਨਸਸੀ ਤਿਤੁ ਵੇਲੈ ਕਹਸਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਤੁ ॥

jitu dini dēh binsasī titu vēlai kahsani prētu ॥

जितु दिनि देह बिनससी तितु वेलै कहसनि प्रेतु ॥

On that day when the body perishes-at that time, she becomes a ghost.

ਪਕੜਿ ਚਲਾਇਨਿ ਦੂਤ ਜਮ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਦੇਨੀ ਭੇਤੁ ॥

pakṛi chalāini dūt jam kisai na dēnī bhētu ॥

पकड़ि चलाइनि दूत जम किसै न देनी भेतु ॥

The Messenger of Death seizes and holds her, and does not tell anyone his secret.

ਛਡਿ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਖਿਨੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਲਗਾ ਹੇਤੁ ॥

chhaḍi khaṛōtē khinai māhi jin siu lagā hētu ॥

छडि खड़ोते खिनै माहि जिन सिउ लगा हेतु ॥

And her loved ones-in an instant, they move on, leaving her all alone.

ਹਥ ਮਰੋੜੈ ਤਨੁ ਕਪੇ ਸਿਆਹਹੁ ਹੋਆ ਸੇਤੁ ॥

hath marōṛai tanu kapē siāhhu hōā sētu ॥

हथ मरोड़ै तनु कपे सिआहहु होआ सेतु ॥

She wrings her hands, her body writhes in pain, and she turns from black to white.

ਜੇਹਾ ਬੀਜੈ ਸੋ ਲੁਣੈ ਕਰਮਾ ਸੰਦੜਾ ਖੇਤੁ ॥

jēhā bījai sō luṇai karamā sandaṛā khētu ॥

जेहा बीजै सो लुणै करमा संदड़ा खेतु ॥

As she has planted, so does she harvest; such is the field of karma.

ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਚਰਣ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੇਤੁ ॥

nānak prabh sarṇāgtī charaṇ bōhith prabh dētu ॥

नानक प्रभ सरणागती चरण बोहिथ प्रभ देतु ॥

Nanak seeks God's Sanctuary; God has given him the Boat of His Feet.

ਸੇ ਭਾਦੁਇ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਅਹਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਰਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੇਤੁ ॥੭॥

sē bhādui narki na pāīahi guru rakhaṇ vālā hētu ॥7॥

से भादुइ नरकि न पाईअहि गुरु रखण वाला हेतु ॥७॥

Those who love the Guru, the Protector and Savior, in Bhaadon, shall not be thrown down into hell. ||7||

ਅਸੁਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਉਮਾਹੜਾ ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥

asuni prēm umāhṛā kiu milīai hari jāi ॥

असुनि प्रेम उमाहड़ा किउ मिलीऐ हरि जाइ ॥

In the month of Assu, my love for the Lord overwhelms me. How can I go and meet the Lord?

ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪਿਆਸ ਦਰਸਨ ਘਣੀ ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਮਾਇ ॥

mani tani piās darsan ghaṇī kōī āṇi milāvai māi ॥

मनि तनि पिआस दरसन घणी कोई आणि मिलावै माइ ॥

My mind and body are so thirsty for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. Won't someone please come and lead me to him, O my mother.

ਸੰਤ ਸਹਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੇ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਾ ਪਾਇ ॥

sant sahāī prēm kē hau tin kai lāgā pāi ॥

संत सहाई प्रेम के हउ तिन कै लागा पाइ ॥

The Saints are the helpers of the Lord's lovers; I fall and touch their feet.

ਵਿਣੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਦੂਜੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥

viṇu prabh kiu sukhu pāīai dūjī nāhī jāi ॥

विणु प्रभ किउ सुखु पाईऐ दूजी नाही जाइ ॥

Without God, how can I find peace? There is nowhere else to go.

ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸੁ ਸੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਰਹੇ ਆਘਾਇ ॥

jinnī chākhiā prēm rasu sē tripti rahē āghāi ॥

जिंन्‍ी चाखिआ प्रेम रसु से त्रिपति रहे आघाइ ॥

Those who have tasted the sublime essence of His Love, remain satisfied and fulfilled.

ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਕਰਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ॥

āpu tiāgi bintī karahi lēhu prabhū laṛi lāi ॥

आपु तिआगि बिनती करहि लेहु प्रभू लड़ि लाइ ॥

They renounce their selfishness and conceit, and they pray, ""God, please attach me to the hem of Your robe.""

ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈਆ ਸਿ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥

jō hari kanti milāīā si vichhuṛi katahi na jāi ॥

जो हरि कंति मिलाईआ सि विछुड़ि कतहि न जाइ ॥

Those whom the Husband Lord has united with Himself, shall not be separated from Him again.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵਿਣੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥

prabh viṇu dūjā kō nahī nānak hari sarṇāi ॥

प्रभ विणु दूजा को नही नानक हरि सरणाइ ॥

Without God, there is no other at all. Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of the Lord.

ਅਸੂ ਸੁਖੀ ਵਸੰਦੀਆ ਜਿਨਾ ਮਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੮॥

asū sukhī vasndīā jinā maiā hari rāi ॥8॥

असू सुखी वसंदीआ जिना मइआ हरि राइ ॥८॥

In Assu, the Lord, the Sovereign King, has granted His Mercy, and they dwell in peace. ||8||

ਕਤਿਕਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਣੇ ਦੋਸੁ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਜੋਗੁ ॥

katiki karam kamāvṇē dōsu na kāhū jōgu ॥

कतिकि करम कमावणे दोसु न काहू जोगु ॥

In the month of Katak, do good deeds. Do not try to blame anyone else.

ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਤੇ ਭੁਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਆਪਨਿ ਸਭੇ ਰੋਗ ॥

parmēsar tē bhuliāṃ viāpni sabhē rōg ॥

परमेसर ते भुलिआं विआपनि सभे रोग ॥

Forgetting the Transcendent Lord, all sorts of illnesses are contracted.

ਵੇਮੁਖ ਹੋਏ ਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਲਗਨਿ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਜੋਗ ॥

vēmukh hōē rām tē lagni janam vijōg ॥

वेमुख होए राम ते लगनि जनम विजोग ॥

Those who turn their backs on the Lord shall be separated from Him and consigned to reincarnation, over and over again.

ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਉੜੇ ਹੋਇ ਗਏ ਜਿਤੜੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਭੋਗ ॥

khin mahi kauṛē hōi gaē jitṛē māiā bhōg ॥

खिन महि कउड़े होइ गए जितड़े माइआ भोग ॥

In an instant, all of Maya's sensual pleasures turn bitter.

ਵਿਚੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਕਰਿ ਸਕੈ ਕਿਸ ਥੈ ਰੋਵਹਿ ਰੋਜ ॥

vichu na kōī kari sakai kis thai rōvahi rōj ॥

विचु न कोई करि सकै किस थै रोवहि रोज ॥

No one can then serve as your intermediary. Unto whom can we turn and cry?

ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥

kītā kichhū na hōvaī likhiā dhuri sañjōg ॥

कीता किछू न होवई लिखिआ धुरि संजोग ॥

By one's own actions, nothing can be done; destiny was pre-determined from the very beginning.

ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਓਗ ॥

vaḍbhāgī mērā prabhu milai tāṃ utrahi sabhi biōg ॥

वडभागी मेरा प्रभु मिलै तां उतरहि सभि बिओग ॥

By great good fortune, I meet my God, and then all pain of separation departs.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਬੰਦੀ ਮੋਚ ॥

nānak kau prabh rākhi lēhi mērē sāhib bandī mōc ॥

नानक कउ प्रभ राखि लेहि मेरे साहिब बंदी मोच ॥

Please protect Nanak, God; O my Lord and Master, please release me from bondage.

ਕਤਿਕ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਸਭੇ ਸੋਚ ॥੯॥

katik hōvai sādhsaṅgu binsahi sabhē sōc ॥9॥

कतिक होवै साधसंगु बिनसहि सभे सोच ॥९॥

In Katak, in the Company of the Holy, all anxiety vanishes. ||9||

ਮੰਘਿਰਿ ਮਾਹਿ ਸੋਹੰਦੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੈਠੜੀਆਹ ॥

maṅghiri māhi sōhndīā hari pir saṅgi baiṭhṛīāh ॥

मंघिरि माहि सोहंदीआ हरि पिर संगि बैठड़ीआह ॥

In the month of Maghar, those who sit with their Beloved Husband Lord are beautiful.

ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਿਆ ਗਣੀ ਜਿ ਸਾਹਿਬਿ ਮੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥

tin kī sōbhā kiā gaṇī ji sāhibi mēlṛīāh ॥

तिन की सोभा किआ गणी जि साहिबि मेलड़ीआह ॥

How can their glory be measured? Their Lord and Master blends them with Himself.

ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧ ਸਹੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥

tanu manu mauliā rām siu saṅgi sādh sahēlṛīāh ॥

तनु मनु मउलिआ राम सिउ संगि साध सहेलड़ीआह ॥

Their bodies and minds blossom forth in the Lord; they have the companionship of the Holy Saints.

ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਸੇ ਰਹਨਿ ਇਕੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥

sādh janā tē bāhrī sē rahni ikēlṛīāh ॥

साध जना ते बाहरी से रहनि इकेलड़ीआह ॥

Those who lack the Company of the Holy, remain all alone.

ਤਿਨ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਉਤਰੈ ਸੇ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਪੜੀਆਹ ॥

tin dukhu na kabahū utrai sē jam kai vasi paṛīāh ॥

तिन दुखु न कबहू उतरै से जम कै वसि पड़ीआह ॥

Their pain never departs, and they fall into the grip of the Messenger of Death.

ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇ ਦਿਸਨਿ ਨਿਤ ਖੜੀਆਹ ॥

jinī rāviā prabhu āpaṇā sē disni nit khaṛīāh ॥

जिनी राविआ प्रभु आपणा से दिसनि नित खड़ीआह ॥

Those who have ravished and enjoyed their God, are seen to be continually exalted and uplifted.

ਰਤਨ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਲਾਲ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਤਿਨਾ ਜੜੀਆਹ ॥

ratan javēhar lāl hari kaṇṭhi tinā jaṛīāh ॥

रतन जवेहर लाल हरि कंठि तिना जड़ीआह ॥

They wear the Necklace of the jewels, emeralds and rubies of the Lord's Name.

ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਂਛੈ ਧੂੜਿ ਤਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣੀ ਦਰਿ ਪੜੀਆਹ ॥

nānak bāñchhai dhūṛi tin prabh sarṇī dari paṛīāh ॥

नानक बांछै धूड़ि तिन प्रभ सरणी दरि पड़ीआह ॥

Nanak seeks the dust of the feet of those who take to the Sanctuary of the Lord's Door.

ਮੰਘਿਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਰਾਧਣਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜਨਮੜੀਆਹ ॥੧੦॥

maṅghiri prabhu ārādhṇā bahuṛi na janmaṛīāh ॥10॥

मंघिरि प्रभु आराधणा बहुड़ि न जनमड़ीआह ॥१०॥

Those who worship and adore God in Maghar, do not suffer the cycle of reincarnation ever again. ||10||

ਪੋਖਿ ਤੁਖਾਰੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪਈ ਕੰਠਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਹੁ ॥

pōkhi tukhāru na viāpaī kaṇṭhi miliā hari nāhu ॥

पोखि तुखारु न विआपई कंठि मिलिआ हरि नाहु ॥

In the month of Poh, the cold does not touch those, whom the Husband Lord hugs close in His Embrace.

ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਚਰਨਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਲਗੜਾ ਸਾਹੁ ॥

manu bēdhiā charnārbind darsani lagṛā sāhu ॥

मनु बेधिआ चरनारबिंद दरसनि लगड़ा साहु ॥

Their minds are transfixed by His Lotus Feet. They are attached to the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan.

ਓਟ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਰਾਇ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਲਾਹੁ ॥

ōṭ gōvind gōpāl rāi sēvā suāmī lāhu ॥

ओट गोविंद गोपाल राइ सेवा सुआमी लाहु ॥

Seek the Protection of the Lord of the Universe; His service is truly profitable.

ਬਿਖਿਆ ਪੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਈ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹੁ ॥

bikhiā pōhi na sakaī mili sādhū guṇ gāhu ॥

बिखिआ पोहि न सकई मिलि साधू गुण गाहु ॥

Corruption shall not touch you, when you join the Holy Saints and sing the Lord's Praises.

ਜਹ ਤੇ ਉਪਜੀ ਤਹ ਮਿਲੀ ਸਚੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਮਾਹੁ ॥

jah tē upjī tah milī sachī prīti samāhu ॥

जह ते उपजी तह मिली सची प्रीति समाहु ॥

From where it originated, there the soul is blended again. It is absorbed in the Love of the True Lord.

ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜੀਆਹੁ ॥

karu gahi līnī pārbrahmi bahuṛi na vichhuṛīāhu ॥

करु गहि लीनी पारब्रहमि बहुड़ि न विछुड़ीआहु ॥

When the Supreme Lord God grasps someone's hand, he shall never again suffer separation from Him.

ਬਾਰਿ ਜਾਉ ਲਖ ਬੇਰੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਹੁ ॥

bāri jāu lakh bērīā hari sajṇu agam agāhu ॥

बारि जाउ लख बेरीआ हरि सजणु अगम अगाहु ॥

I am a sacrifice, 100,000 times, to the Lord, my Friend, the Unapproachable and Unfathomable.

ਸਰਮ ਪਈ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਿ ਪਈਆਹੁ ॥

saram paī nārāiṇai nānak dari paīāhu ॥

सरम पई नाराइणै नानक दरि पईआहु ॥

Please preserve my honor, Lord; Nanak begs at Your Door.

ਪੋਖੁ ਸੁੋਹੰਦਾ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਜਿਸੁ ਬਖਸੇ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ॥੧੧॥

pōkhu sōhandā sarab sukh jisu bakhsē vēpravāhu ॥11॥

पोखु सुोहंदा सरब सुख जिसु बखसे वेपरवाहु ॥११॥

Poh is beautiful, and all comforts come to that one, whom the Carefree Lord has forgiven. ||11||

ਮਾਘਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧੂਆ ਧੂੜੀ ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥

māghi majnu saṅgi sādhūā dhūṛī kari isnānu ॥

माघि मजनु संगि साधूआ धूड़ी करि इसनानु ॥

In the month of Maagh, let your cleansing bath be the dust of the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਭਨਾ ਨੋ ਕਰਿ ਦਾਨੁ ॥

hari kā nāmu dhiāi suṇi sabhanā nō kari dānu ॥

हरि का नामु धिआइ सुणि सभना नो करि दानु ॥

Meditate and listen to the Name of the Lord, and give it to everyone.

ਜਨਮ ਕਰਮ ਮਲੁ ਉਤਰੈ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਇ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ॥

janam karam malu utrai man tē jāi gumānu ॥

जनम करम मलु उतरै मन ते जाइ गुमानु ॥

In this way, the filth of lifetimes of karma shall be removed, and egotistical pride shall vanish from your mind.

ਕਾਮਿ ਕਰੋਧਿ ਨ ਮੋਹੀਐ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਲੋਭੁ ਸੁਆਨੁ ॥

kāmi karōdhi na mōhīai binsai lōbhu suānu ॥

कामि करोधि न मोहीऐ बिनसै लोभु सुआनु ॥

Sexual desire and anger shall not seduce you, and the dog of greed shall depart.

ਸਚੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲਦਿਆ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਜਹਾਨੁ ॥

sachai mārgi chaldiā ustati karē jahānu ॥

सचै मारगि चलदिआ उसतति करे जहानु ॥

Those who walk on the Path of Truth shall be praised throughout the world.

ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਸਗਲ ਪੁੰਨ ਜੀਅ ਦਇਆ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥

aṭhsaṭhi tīrath sagal punn jīa daiā parvānu ॥

अठसठि तीरथ सगल पुंन जीअ दइआ परवानु ॥

Be kind to all beings-this is more meritorious than bathing at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage and the giving of charity.

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਦੇਵੈ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਸੋਈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ॥

jis nō dēvai daiā kari sōī purkhu sujānu ॥

जिस नो देवै दइआ करि सोई पुरखु सुजानु ॥

That person, upon whom the Lord bestows His Mercy, is a wise person.

ਜਿਨਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥

jinā miliā prabhu āpaṇā nānak tin kurbānu ॥

जिना मिलिआ प्रभु आपणा नानक तिन कुरबानु ॥

Nanak is a sacrifice to those who have merged with God.

ਮਾਘਿ ਸੁਚੇ ਸੇ ਕਾਂਢੀਅਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨੁ ॥੧੨॥

māghi suchē sē kāṇḍhīhi jin pūrā guru mihravānu ॥12॥

माघि सुचे से कांढीअहि जिन पूरा गुरु मिहरवानु ॥१२॥

In Maagh, they alone are known as true, unto whom the Perfect Guru is Merciful. ||12||

ਫਲਗੁਣਿ ਅਨੰਦ ਉਪਾਰਜਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਆਇ ॥

phalguṇi anand upārjanā hari sajaṇ pragṭē āi ॥

फलगुणि अनंद उपारजना हरि सजण प्रगटे आइ ॥

In the month of Phalgun, bliss comes to those, unto whom the Lord, the Friend, has been revealed.

ਸੰਤ ਸਹਾਈ ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੀਆ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥

sant sahāī rām kē kari kirpā dīā milāi ॥

संत सहाई राम के करि किरपा दीआ मिलाइ ॥

The Saints, the Lord's helpers, in their mercy, have united me with Him.

ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਹੁਣਿ ਦੁਖਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥

sēj suhāvī sarab sukh huṇi dukhā nāhī jāi ॥

सेज सुहावी सरब सुख हुणि दुखा नाही जाइ ॥

My bed is beautiful, and I have all comforts. I feel no sadness at all.

ਇਛ ਪੁਨੀ ਵਡਭਾਗਣੀ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥

ichh punī vaḍbhāgṇī varu pāiā hari rāi ॥

इछ पुनी वडभागणी वरु पाइआ हरि राइ ॥

My desires have been fulfilled-by great good fortune, I have obtained the Sovereign Lord as my Husband.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਹੀਆ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਵਹੀ ਗੀਤ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਅਲਾਇ ॥

mili sahīā maṅglu gāvahī gīt gōvind alāi ॥

मिलि सहीआ मंगलु गावही गीत गोविंद अलाइ ॥

ਹਰਿ ਜੇਹਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦਿਸਈ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਲਵੈ ਨ ਲਾਇ ॥

hari jēhā avru na disaī kōī dūjā lavai na lāi ॥

हरि जेहा अवरु न दिसई कोई दूजा लवै न लाइ ॥

There is no other like the Lord-there is no equal to Him.

ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਸਵਾਰਿਓਨੁ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਦਿਤੀਅਨੁ ਜਾਇ ॥

haltu paltu savāriōnu nihchal ditīnu jāi ॥

हलतु पलतु सवारिओनु निहचल दितीअनु जाइ ॥

He embellishes this world and the world hereafter, and He gives us our permanent home there.

ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਤੇ ਰਖਿਅਨੁ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜਨਮੈ ਧਾਇ ॥

saṃsār sāgar tē rakhinu bahuṛi na janmai dhāi ॥

संसार सागर ते रखिअनु बहुड़ि न जनमै धाइ ॥

He rescues us from the world-ocean; never again do we have to run the cycle of reincarnation.

ਜਿਹਵਾ ਏਕ ਅਨੇਕ ਗੁਣ ਤਰੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਚਰਣੀ ਪਾਇ ॥

jihvā ēk anēk guṇ tarē nānak charṇī pāi ॥

जिहवा एक अनेक गुण तरे नानक चरणी पाइ ॥

I have only one tongue, but Your Glorious Virtues are beyond counting. Nanak is saved, falling at Your Feet.

ਫਲਗੁਣਿ ਨਿਤ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਇ ॥੧੩॥

phalguṇi nit salāhīai jis nō tilu na tamāi ॥13॥

फलगुणि नित सलाहीऐ जिस नो तिलु न तमाइ ॥१३॥

In Phalgun, praise Him continually; He has not even an iota of greed. ||13||

ਜਿਨਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ਸਰੇ ॥

jini jini nāmu dhiāiā tin kē kāj sarē ॥

जिनि जिनि नामु धिआइआ तिन के काज सरे ॥

Those who meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord-their affairs are all resolved.

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਦਰਗਹ ਸਚਿ ਖਰੇ ॥

hari guru pūrā ārādhiā dargah sachi kharē ॥

हरि गुरु पूरा आराधिआ दरगह सचि खरे ॥

Those who meditate on the Perfect Guru, the Lord-Incarnate-they are judged true in the Court of the Lord.

ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਚਰਣ ਹਰਿ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਤਰੇ ॥

sarab sukhā nidhi charaṇ hari bhaujlu bikhmu tarē ॥

सरब सुखा निधि चरण हरि भउजलु बिखमु तरे ॥

The Lord's Feet are the Treasure of all peace and comfort for them; they cross over the terrifying and treacherous world-ocean.

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਈਆ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਨਾਹਿ ਜਰੇ ॥

prēm bhagti tin pāīā bikhiā nāhi jarē ॥

प्रेम भगति तिन पाईआ बिखिआ नाहि जरे ॥

They obtain love and devotion, and they do not burn in corruption.

ਕੂੜ ਗਏ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਨਸੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਚਿ ਭਰੇ ॥

kūṛ gaē dubidhā nasī pūran sachi bharē ॥

कूड़ गए दुबिधा नसी पूरन सचि भरे ॥

Falsehood has vanished, duality has been erased, and they are totally overflowing with Truth.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਧਰੇ ॥

pārbrahmu prabhu sēvdē man andri ēku dharē ॥

पारब्रहमु प्रभु सेवदे मन अंदरि एकु धरे ॥

They serve the Supreme Lord God, and enshrine the One Lord within their minds.

ਮਾਹ ਦਿਵਸ ਮੂਰਤ ਭਲੇ ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥

māh divas mūrat bhalē jis kau nadri karē ॥

माह दिवस मूरत भले जिस कउ नदरि करे ॥

The months, the days, and the moments are auspicious, for those upon whom the Lord casts His Glance of Grace.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਰਸ ਦਾਨੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਹਰੇ ॥੧੪॥੧॥

nānku maṅgai daras dānu kirpā karahu harē ॥14॥1॥

नानकु मंगै दरस दानु किरपा करहु हरे ॥१४॥१॥

Nanak begs for the blessing of Your Vision, O Lord. Please, shower Your Mercy upon me! ||14||1||
