ਕਿਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਕਿਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ॥

kin bidhi milai gusāī mērē rām rāi ॥

किन बिधि मिलै गुसाई मेरे राम राइ ॥

How may I meet my Master, the King, the Lord of the Universe?

ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਸੰਤੁ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦੇਇ ਬਤਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kōī aisā santu sahaj sukhdātā mōhi mārgu dēi batāī ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

कोई ऐसा संतु सहज सुखदाता मोहि मारगु देइ बताई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Is there any Saint, who can bestow such celestial peace, and show me the Way to Him? ||1||Pause||

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਲਖਿਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਪੜਦਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਾਈ ॥

antri alkhu na jāī lakhiā vichi paṛdā haumai pāī ॥

अंतरि अलखु न जाई लखिआ विचि पड़दा हउमै पाई ॥

The Unseen Lord is deep within the self; He cannot be seen; the curtain of egotism intervenes.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਭੋ ਜਗੁ ਸੋਇਆ ਇਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਿਉ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥

māiā mōhi sabhō jagu sōiā ihu bharmu kahhu kiu jāī ॥1॥

माइआ मोहि सभो जगु सोइआ इहु भरमु कहहु किउ जाई ॥१॥

In emotional attachment to Maya, all the world is asleep. Tell me, how can this doubt be dispelled? ||1||

ਏਕਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਇਕਤੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਬਸਤੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਕਰਤੇ ਭਾਈ ॥

ēkā saṅgti iktu grihi bastē mili bāt na kartē bhāī ॥

एका संगति इकतु ग्रिहि बसते मिलि बात न करते भाई ॥

The one lives together with the other in the same house, but they do not talk to one another, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਏਕ ਬਸਤੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਪੰਚ ਦੁਹੇਲੇ ਓਹ ਬਸਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਠਾਈ ॥੨॥

ēk bastu binu pañc duhēlē ōh bastu agōchar ṭhāī ॥2॥

एक बसतु बिनु पंच दुहेले ओह बसतु अगोचर ठाई ॥२॥

Without the one substance, the five are miserable; that substance is in the unapproachable place. ||2||

ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਤਾਲਾ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਉਪਾਈ ॥

jis kā grihu tini dīā tālā kuñjī gur saupāī ॥

जिस का ग्रिहु तिनि दीआ ताला कुंजी गुर सउपाई ॥

And the one whose home it is, has locked it up, and given the key to the Guru.

ਅਨਿਕ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੩॥

anik upāv karē nahī pāvai binu satigur sarṇāī ॥3॥

अनिक उपाव करे नही पावै बिनु सतिगुर सरणाई ॥३॥

You may make all sorts of efforts, but it cannot be obtained, without the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ||3||

ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤਿਨ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥

jin kē bandhan kāṭē satigur tin sādhsaṅgti liv lāī ॥

जिन के बंधन काटे सतिगुर तिन साधसंगति लिव लाई ॥

Those whose bonds have been broken by the True Guru, enshrine love for the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਪੰਚ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥੪॥

pañc janā mili maṅglu gāiā hari nānak bhēdu na bhāī ॥4॥

पंच जना मिलि मंगलु गाइआ हरि नानक भेदु न भाई ॥४॥

The self-elect, the self-realized beings, meet together and sing the joyous songs of the Lord. Nanak, there is no difference between them, O Siblings of Destiny. ||4||

ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥

mērē rām rāi in bidhi milai gusāī ॥

मेरे राम राइ इन बिधि मिलै गुसाई ॥

This is how my Sovereign Lord King, the Lord of the Universe, is met;

ਸਹਜੁ ਭਇਆ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਠਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੧੨੨॥

sahju bhaiā bhramu khin mahi nāṭhā mili jōtī jōti samāī ॥1॥ rahāu dūjā ॥1॥122॥

सहजु भइआ भ्रमु खिन महि नाठा मिलि जोती जोति समाई ॥१॥ रहाउ दूजा ॥१॥१२२॥

Celestial bliss is attained in an instant, and doubt is dispelled. Meeting Him, my light merges in the Light. ||1||Second Pause||1||122||
