ਕੀਰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਗਾਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਸਨਾਂ ॥

कानड़ा महला ५ ॥

Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl:

ਕੀਰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਗਾਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਸਨਾਂ ॥

kīrti prabh kī gāu mērī rasnāṃ ॥

कीरति प्रभ की गाउ मेरी रसनां ॥

Sing the Praises of God, O my tongue.

ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਕਰਿ ਬੰਦਨ ਸੰਤਨ ਊਹਾਂ ਚਰਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਬਸਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

anik bār kari bandan santan ūhāṃ charan gōbind jī kē basnā ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

अनिक बार करि बंदन संतन ऊहां चरन गोबिंद जी के बसना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Humbly bow to the Saints, over and over again; through them, the Feet of the Lord of the Universe shall come to abide within you. ||1||Pause||

ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥

anik bhānti kari duāru na pāvau ॥

अनिक भांति करि दुआरु न पावउ ॥

The Door to the Lord cannot be found by any other means.

ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥੧॥

hōi kripālu ta hari hari dhiāvau ॥1॥

होइ क्रिपालु त हरि हरि धिआवउ ॥१॥

When He becomes Merciful, we come to meditate on the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||

ਕੋਟਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਹ ਨ ਸੋਧਾ ॥

kōṭi karam kari dēh na sōdhā ॥

कोटि करम करि देह न सोधा ॥

The body is not purified by millions of rituals.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਮਨੁ ਪਰਬੋਧਾ ॥੨॥

sādhsaṅgti mahi manu parbōdhā ॥2॥

साधसंगति महि मनु परबोधा ॥२॥

The mind is awakened and enlightened only in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2||

ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਨ ਬੂਝੀ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਇਆ ॥

trisan na būjhī bahu raṅg māiā ॥

त्रिसन न बूझी बहु रंग माइआ ॥

Thirst and desire are not quenched by enjoying the many pleasures of Maya.

ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥

nāmu lait sarab sukh pāiā ॥3॥

नामु लैत सरब सुख पाइआ ॥३॥

Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, total peace is found. ||3||

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਜਬ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ॥

pārbraham jab bhaē daiāl ॥

पारब्रहम जब भए दइआल ॥

When the Supreme Lord God becomes Merciful,

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਉ ਛੂਟੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥੪॥੩॥

kahu nānak tau chhūṭē jañjāl ॥4॥3॥

कहु नानक तउ छूटे जंजाल ॥४॥३॥

Says Nanak, then one is rid of worldly entanglements. ||4||3||
