Fifth Mehl:

ਕਾਹੇ ਮਨ ਤੂ ਡੋਲਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥

kāhē man tū ḍōltā hari mansā pūrṇahāru ॥

काहे मन तू डोलता हरि मनसा पूरणहारु ॥

Why do you waver, O my mind? The Lord is the Fulfiller of hopes and desires.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂ ਸਭਿ ਦੁਖ ਵਿਸਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥

satiguru purkhu dhiāi tū sabhi dukh visārṇahāru ॥

सतिगुरु पुरखु धिआइ तू सभि दुख विसारणहारु ॥

Meditate on the True Guru, the Primal Being; He is the Destroyer of all pains.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਆਰਾਧਿ ਮਨ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਜਾਹਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ॥

hari nāmā ārādhi man sabhi kilvikh jāhi vikār ॥

हरि नामा आराधि मन सभि किलविख जाहि विकार ॥

Worship and adore the Lord's Name, O my mind; all sins and corruption shall be washed away.

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਗਾ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥

jin kau pūrbi likhiā tin raṅgu lagā nirṅkār ॥

जिन कउ पूरबि लिखिआ तिन रंगु लगा निरंकार ॥

Those who are blessed with such pre-ordained destiny, are in love with the Formless Lord.

ਓਨੀ ਛਡਿਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਸੁਆਵੜਾ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥

ōnī chhaḍiā māiā suāvaṛā dhanu sañchiā nāmu apāru ॥

ओनी छडिआ माइआ सुआवड़ा धनु संचिआ नामु अपारु ॥

They abandon the tastes of Maya, and gather in the infinite wealth of the Naam.

ਅਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਇਕਤੈ ਲਿਵੈ ਮੰਨੇਨਿ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥

aṭhē pahar iktai livai mannēni hukmu apāru ॥

अठे पहर इकतै लिवै मंनेनि हुकमु अपारु ॥

Twenty-four hours a day, they are lovingly absorbed in the One Lord; they surrender and accept the Will of the Infinite Lord.

ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਇਕੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੨॥

janu nānku maṅgai dānu iku dēhu darsu mani piāru ॥2॥

जनु नानकु मंगै दानु इकु देहु दरसु मनि पिआरु ॥२॥

Servant Nanak begs for this one gift: please bless me, Lord, with the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; my mind is in love with You. ||2||
