ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

आसा महला ५ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥

jīa prān dhanu hari kō nāmu ॥

जीअ प्रान धनु हरि को नामु ॥

The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is my soul, my life, my wealth.

ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾਂ ਉਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੧॥

īhā ūhāṃ un saṅgi kāmu ॥1॥

ईहा ऊहां उन संगि कामु ॥१॥

Here and hereafter, it is with me, to help me. ||1||

ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਅਵਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਥੋਰਾ ॥

binu hari nām avru sabhu thōrā ॥

बिनु हरि नाम अवरु सभु थोरा ॥

Without the Lord's Name, everything else is useless.

ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

tripti aghāvai hari darsani manu mōrā ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

त्रिपति अघावै हरि दरसनि मनु मोरा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

My mind is satisfied and satiated by the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||1||Pause||

ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਲਾਲ ॥

bhagti bhaṇḍār gurbāṇī lāl ॥

भगति भंडार गुरबाणी लाल ॥

Gurbani is the jewel, the treasure of devotion.

ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਕਮਾਵਤ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੨॥

gāvat sunat kamāvat nihāl ॥2॥

गावत सुनत कमावत निहाल ॥२॥

Singing, hearing and acting upon it, one is enraptured. ||2||

ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੋ ਮਾਨੁ ॥

charaṇ kamal siu lāgō mānu ॥

चरण कमल सिउ लागो मानु ॥

My mind is attached to the Lord's Lotus Feet.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਤੂਠੈ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੩॥

satiguri tūṭhai kīnō dānu ॥3॥

सतिगुरि तूठै कीनो दानु ॥३॥

The True Guru, in His Pleasure, has given this gift. ||3||

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਖਿਆ ਦੀਨ੍‍ ॥

nānak kau guri dīkhiā dīn‍ ॥

नानक कउ गुरि दीखिआ दीन्‍ ॥

Unto Nanak, the Guru has revealed these instructions:

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਚੀਨ੍‍ ॥੪॥੨੩॥

prabh abināsī ghaṭi ghaṭi chīn‍ ॥4॥23॥

प्रभ अबिनासी घटि घटि चीन्‍ ॥४॥२३॥

Recognize the Imperishable Lord God in each and every heart. ||4||23||
