ਭੈਰਉ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਜੀਉ ਘਰੁ ੨

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ik-ōṅkār satigur prasādi ॥

ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਜੈਸੀ ਭੂਖੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਅਨਾਜ ॥

jaisī bhūkhē prīti anāj ॥

जैसी भूखे प्रीति अनाज ॥

As the hungry person loves food,

ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾਵੰਤ ਜਲ ਸੇਤੀ ਕਾਜ ॥

trikhāvant jal sētī kāj ॥

त्रिखावंत जल सेती काज ॥

And the thirsty person is obsessed with water,

ਜੈਸੀ ਮੂੜ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਪਰਾਇਣ ॥

jaisī mūṛ kuṭamb parāiṇ ॥

जैसी मूड़ कुटंब पराइण ॥

And as the fool is attached to his family

ਐਸੀ ਨਾਮੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਰਾਇਣ ॥੧॥

aisī nāmē prīti narāiṇ ॥1॥

ऐसी नामे प्रीति नराइण ॥१॥

- just so, the Lord is very dear to Naam Dayv. ||1||

ਨਾਮੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਲਾਗੀ ॥

nāmē prīti nārāiṇ lāgī ॥

नामे प्रीति नाराइण लागी ॥

Naam Dayv is in love with the Lord.

ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਭਇਓ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

sahaj subhāi bhaiō bairāgī ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

सहज सुभाइ भइओ बैरागी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

He has naturally and intuitively become detached from the world. ||1||Pause||

ਜੈਸੀ ਪਰ ਪੁਰਖਾ ਰਤ ਨਾਰੀ ॥

jaisī par purkhā rat nārī ॥

जैसी पर पुरखा रत नारी ॥

Like the woman who falls in love with another man,

ਲੋਭੀ ਨਰੁ ਧਨ ਕਾ ਹਿਤਕਾਰੀ ॥

lōbhī naru dhan kā hitkārī ॥

लोभी नरु धन का हितकारी ॥

And the greedy man who loves only wealth,

ਕਾਮੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਾਮਨੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥

kāmī purakh kāmnī piārī ॥

कामी पुरख कामनी पिआरी ॥

And the sexually promiscuous man who loves women and sex,

ਐਸੀ ਨਾਮੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੨॥

aisī nāmē prīti murārī ॥2॥

ऐसी नामे प्रीति मुरारी ॥२॥

Just so, Naam Dayv is in love with the Lord. ||2||

ਸਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਜਿ ਆਪੇ ਲਾਏ ॥

sāī prīti ji āpē lāē ॥

साई प्रीति जि आपे लाए ॥

But that alone is real love, which the Lord Himself inspires;

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਜਾਏ ॥

gur parsādī dubidhā jāē ॥

गुर परसादी दुबिधा जाए ॥

By Guru's Grace, duality is eradicated.

ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਤੂਟਸਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥

kabhu na tūṭsi rahiā samāi ॥

कबहु न तूटसि रहिआ समाइ ॥

Such love never breaks; through it, the mortal remains merged in the Lord.

ਨਾਮੇ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ ॥੩॥

nāmē chitu lāiā sachi nāi ॥3॥

नामे चितु लाइआ सचि नाइ ॥३॥

Naam Dayv has focused his consciousness on the True Name. ||3||

ਜੈਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਅਰੁ ਮਾਤਾ ॥

jaisī prīti bārik aru mātā ॥

जैसी प्रीति बारिक अरु माता ॥

Like the love between the child and its mother,

ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥

aisā hari sētī manu rātā ॥

ऐसा हरि सेती मनु राता ॥

So is my mind imbued with the Lord.

ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥

praṇvai nāmdēu lāgī prīti ॥

प्रणवै नामदेउ लागी प्रीति ॥

Prays Naam Dayv, I am in love with the Lord.

ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਬਸੈ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਚੀਤਿ ॥੪॥੧॥੭॥

gōbidu basai hamārai chīti ॥4॥1॥7॥

गोबिदु बसै हमारै चीति ॥४॥१॥७॥

The Lord of the Universe abides within my consciousness. ||4||1||7||
