ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਥਾਟ ਬਣਾਯਾ॥
pūrā satigur jāṇīai pūrai pūrā thāṭ baṇāyā॥
पूरा सतिगुर जाणीऐ पूरै पूरा थाट बणाया॥
One should understand the perfect true Guru who has created the grandeur (of creation) around.
ਪੂਰੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਮੰਤ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਯਾ॥
pūrē pūrā sādh saṅg pūrē pūrā mant driṛāyā॥
पूरे पूरा साध संग पूरे पूरा मंत द्रिड़ाया॥
The holy congregation of the complete is perfect and that perfect has recited the perfect mantra.
ਪੂਰੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਿਰਮਰਸ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਪੰਥ ਚਲਾਯਾ॥
pūrē pūrā pirmaras pūrē gurmukh panth chalāyā॥
पूरे पूरा पिरमरस पूरे गुरमुख पंथ चलाया॥
The perfect has created the complete love for the Lord and has ordained the gurmukh way of life.
ਪੂਰੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਦਰਸਨੋ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਣਾਯਾ॥
pūrē pūrā darsanō pūrē pūrā shabad suṇāyā॥
पूरे पूरा दरसनो पूरे पूरा शबद सुणाया॥
The sight of perfect is perfect and the same perfect has caused to hear the perfect word.
ਪੂਰੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਬੈਹਣ ਕਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਤਕਥ ਰਚਾਯਾ॥
pūrē pūrā baihaṇ kar pūrē pūrā takath rachāyā॥
पूरे पूरा बैहण कर पूरे पूरा तकथ रचाया॥
His sitting is also perfect and his throne is also perfect.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਚਖੰਡ ਹੈ ਭਗਤ ਵਛਲ ਹੁਇ ਵਸਿ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਯਾ॥
sādhsaṅgti sackhaṇḍ hai bhagat vachhal hui vasi gati pāyā॥
साधसंगति सचखंड है भगत वछल हुइ वसि गति पाया॥
The holy congregation is the abode of truth and being kind to the devotee, He is in the possession of the devotees.
ਸਤਿਰੂਪ ਸਚ ਨਾਉ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਸਿਖਾਂ ਸਮਝਾਯਾ॥
satirūp sac nāu gur giān dhiān sikhāṃ samjhāyā॥
सतिरूप सच नाउ गुर गिआन धिआन सिखां समझाया॥
The Guru, out of his sheer love for the Sikhs, has made them understand the true nature of the Lord, the true name and the knowledge-producing meditation.
ਗੁਰ ਚੇਲੇ ਪਰਚਾ ਪਰਚਾਯਾ ॥੧॥

गुर चेले परचा परचाया ॥१॥
The Guru has immersed the disciple in the way of life.

लेलै मजनूं आसकी चहु चकी जाती॥
The lovers Lana and Majanu are well known in all the quarters of the world.
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਬੀਜਾ ਗਾਵੀਐ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਘੜਾ ਵਾਤੀ॥
sōrṭhi bījā gāvīai jasu sughaṛā vātī॥
सोरठि बीजा गावीऐ जसु सुघड़ा वाती॥
The excellent song of Sorath and Bija is sung in every direction.
ਸਸੀ ਪੁੰਨੂੰ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਹੁਇ ਜਾਤਿ ਅਜਾਤੀ॥
sasī punnūṃ dōsatī hui jāti ajātī॥
ससी पुंनूं दोसती हुइ जाति अजाती॥
The love of Sassi and Punnü, though of different castes, is everywhere spoken of.
ਮੇਹੀਵਾਲ ਨੋ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਨੈ ਤਰਦੀ ਰਾਤੀ॥
mēhīvāl nō sōhṇī nai tardī rātī॥
मेहीवाल नो सोहणी नै तरदी राती॥
The fame of Sohni who used to swim the Chenab river in the ht to meet Mahival is well known.
ਰਾਂਝਾ ਹੀਰ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਓਹੁ ਪਿਰਮ ਪਰਾਤੀ॥
rāñjhā hīr vakhāṇīai ōhu piram parātī॥
रांझा हीर वखाणीऐ ओहु पिरम पराती॥
Ranjha and Hir are renowned for the love they bore each other.
ਪੀਰ ਮੁਰੀਦਾਂ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਗਾਵਨਿ ਪਰਭਾਤੀ ॥੧॥
pīr murīdāṃ pirhaṛī gāvni parbhātī ॥1॥
पीर मुरीदां पिरहड़ी गावनि परभाती ॥१॥
But superior to all is the love the disciples bear their Guru.They sing it at the ambrosial hour of morning.

balihārī tināṃ gursikhāṃ jāi jinā gurdarshan ḍiṭhā॥
बलिहारी तिनां गुरसिखां जाइ जिना गुरदरशन डिठा॥
I am sacrifice unto those Gursikhs who go to have the glimpse of the Guru.
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨਾਂ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਭਾ ਬਹਿਠਾ॥
balihārī tināṃ gursikhāṃ pairīṃ pai gur sabhā bahiṭhā॥
बलिहारी तिनां गुरसिखां पैरीं पै गुर सभा बहिठा॥
I am sacrifice unto those Gursikhs who touching the feet sit in the assembly of the Guru.
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨਾਂ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਮਿਠਾ॥
balihārī tināṃ gursikhāṃ gurmati bōl bōldē miṭhā॥
बलिहारी तिनां गुरसिखां गुरमति बोल बोलदे मिठा॥
I am sacrifice unto those Gursikhs who speak sweet.
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨਾਂ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਰਭਾਈ ਇਠਾ॥
balihārī tināṃ gursikhāṃ putr mitr gurbhāī iṭhā॥
बलिहारी तिनां गुरसिखां पुत्र मित्र गुरभाई इठा॥
I am sacrifice unto those Gursikhs who prefer their fellow disciples to their sons and friends.
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨਾਂ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂਗੁਰਸੇਵਾ ਜਾਣਨਿ ਅਭਰਿਠਾ॥
balihārī tināṃ gursikhāṅgursēvā jāṇni abhriṭhā॥
बलिहारी तिनां गुरसिखांगुरसेवा जाणनि अभरिठा॥
I am sacrifice unto those Gursikhs who love the service to the Guru.
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨਾਂ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਆਪ ਤਰੇ ਤਾਰੇਨਿ ਸਰਿਠਾ॥
balihārī tināṃ gursikhāṃ āp tarē tārēni sariṭhā॥
बलिहारी तिनां गुरसिखां आप तरे तारेनि सरिठा॥
I am sacrifice unto those Gursikhs who get across and make other creatures also swim across.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਪਾਪ ਪਣਿਠਾ ॥੧॥
gurmukh miliā pāp paṇiṭhā ॥1॥
गुरमुख मिलिआ पाप पणिठा ॥१॥
Meeting such Gursikhs, all the sins are removed.

pahilā gurmukhi janmu lai bhai vichi vartai hōi iāṇā॥
पहिला गुरमुखि जनमु लै भै विचि वरतै होइ इआणा॥
Having been born in this world, the gurmukh becoming innocent and ignorant ducts himself in the fear of the Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖ ਲੈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਿਚਿ ਖਰਾ ਸਿਆਣਾ॥
gur sikh lai gursikhu hōi bhāi bhagti vichi kharā siāṇā॥
गुर सिख लै गुरसिखु होइ भाइ भगति विचि खरा सिआणा॥
Adopting the teaching of the Guru becomes the Sikh of the Guru and sustaining himself in the loving devotion, e leads a pure and intelligent life.
ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਨੈ ਸਮਝਿ ਮਾਣਿ ਮਹਤਿ ਵਿਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ॥
gur sikh suṇi mannai samjhi māṇi mahti vichi rahai nimāṇā॥
गुर सिख सुणि मंनै समझि माणि महति विचि रहै निमाणा॥
After listening to and understanding it, e accepts the teachings of the Guru and even earning the glories continues be humble.
ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਪੂਜਦਾ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈ ਰਹਿਰਾਸਿ ਲੁਭਾਣਾ॥
gur sikh gursikhu pūjdā pairī pai rahirāsi lubhāṇā॥
गुर सिख गुरसिखु पूजदा पैरी पै रहिरासि लुभाणा॥
In accordance with the teachings of the Guru, he worships the e Sikhs and touching their feet and, following their virtus path, he becomes avourite of all.
ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਚਲਣੁ ਜਾਣਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਮਿਹਮਾਣਾ॥
gursikh manhu na visrai chalṇu jāṇi jugti mihmāṇā॥
गुरसिख मनहु न विसरै चलणु जाणि जुगति मिहमाणा॥
Guru's instruction is never forgotten by the Sikh and he having learnt the way of considering himself as a passing guest, spends his life (purposefully) here.
ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਮਿਠਾ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਨਿਵਿ ਚਲਣਾ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪਰਵਾਣਾ॥
gursikh miṭhā bōlṇā nivi chalṇā gursikh parvāṇā॥
गुरसिख मिठा बोलणा निवि चलणा गुरसिख परवाणा॥
The Sikh of the Guru speaks sweetly and accept humility as the proper way of life.
ਘਾਲਿ ਖਾਇ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਮਿਲਿ ਖਾਣਾ ॥੧॥
ghāli khāi gursikh mili khāṇā ॥1॥
घालि खाइ गुरसिख मिलि खाणा ॥१॥
The Gurmukh, guru-oriented person earns is livelihood by hard labour and shares his victuals with other Sikhs of the um.

एकंकारु इकांग लिखि ऊड़ा ओअंकारु लिखाइआ॥
ਸਤਿਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਸਦਾਇਆ॥
satināmu karatā purkhu nirbhau hōi nirvairu sadāiā॥
सतिनामु करता पुरखु निरभउ होइ निरवैरु सदाइआ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਪਰਤਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਨਾਉ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਭਾਇਆ॥
akāl mūrti partakhi hōi nāu ajūnī saibhaṃ bhāiā॥
अकाल मूरति परतखि होइ नाउ अजूनी सैभं भाइआ॥
ਗੁਰਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਸੁ ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਹ ਜੁਗੰਤਰਿ ਹੋਂਦਾ ਆਇਆ॥
gurparsādi su ādi sachu jugah jugntari hōndā āiā॥
गुरपरसादि सु आदि सचु जुगह जुगंतरि होंदा आइआ॥
ਹੈਭੀ ਹੋਸੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਉ ਸਚੁ ਦਰਸਣੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ॥
haibhī hōsī sachu nāu sachu darsaṇu satigurū dikhāiā॥
हैभी होसी सचु नाउ सचु दरसणु सतिगुरू दिखाइआ॥
ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਲਿਵਲੀਣੁ ਹੋਇ ਗੁਰੁ ਚੇਲਾ ਪਰਚਾ ਪਰਚਾਇਆ॥
shabad surti livlīṇu hōi guru chēlā parchā parchāiā॥
शबद सुरति लिवलीणु होइ गुरु चेला परचा परचाइआ॥
ਗੁਰੁ ਚੇਲਾ ਰਹਿਰਾਸਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੀਹ ਇਕੀਹ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ॥
guru chēlā rahirāsi kari vīh ikīh chaṛhāu chaṛhāiā॥
गुरु चेला रहिरासि करि वीह इकीह चड़्हाउ चड़्हाइआ॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਖਫਲੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
gurmukhi sukhphalu alkhu lakhāiā ॥1॥
गुरमुखि सुखफलु अलखु लखाइआ ॥१॥
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

ਸਉਦਾ ਇਕਤੁ ਹਟਿ ਹੈ ਪੀਰਾਂ ਪੀਰੁ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ॥
saudā iktu haṭi hai pīrāṃ pīru gurāṃ guru pūrā॥
सउदा इकतु हटि है पीरां पीरु गुरां गुरु पूरा॥
Merchandise (of truth) is available only at that centre wherein sits the pit of the pits and the perfect Guru of the gurus.
ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਣੁ ਦੁਖ ਹਰਣੁ ਅਸਰਣੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਵਚਨ ਦਾ ਸੂਰਾ॥
patit udhārṇu dukh harṇu asraṇu sarṇi vachan dā sūrā॥
पतित उधारणु दुख हरणु असरणु सरणि वचन दा सूरा॥
He is saviour of the fallen, dispeller of sufferings, and shelter of the shelterless.
ਅੁਗੁਣ ਲੈ ਗੁਣ ਵਿਕਣੈ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਵਿਸਰਾਇ ਵਿਸੂਰਾ॥
uguṇ lai guṇ vikṇai sukh sāgru visrāi visūrā॥
अुगुण लै गुण विकणै सुख सागरु विसराइ विसूरा॥
He takes away our demerits and bestows virtues.
ਕਟਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਹਜਾਰ ਲਖ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਾ॥
kaṭi vikār hajār lakh parupkārī sadā hajūrā॥
कटि विकार हजार लख परउपकारी सदा हजूरा॥
Instead, ocean of delights, the Lord makes us forget grief and disappointment.
ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸਤਿ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਕਦਹੀ ਊਰਾ॥
sati nāmu karatā purkhu sati sarūpu na kadhī ūrā॥
सति नामु करता पुरखु सति सरूपु न कदही ऊरा॥
He, the decimater of lacs of evils, is benevolent and ever present. He whose name is Truth, creator Lord, the truth form, never becomes incomplete i.e. He is ever complete.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਚ ਖੰਡਿ ਵਸਿ ਅਨਹਦ ਸਬਦ ਵਜਾਏ ਤੂਰਾ॥
sādhsaṅgti sac khaṇḍi vasi anhad sabad vajāē tūrā॥
साधसंगति सच खंडि वसि अनहद सबद वजाए तूरा॥
Residing in the holy congregation, the abode of truth,
ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਕਰੇ ਚਕਚੂਰਾ ॥੧॥
dūjā bhāu karē chakchūrā ॥1॥
दूजा भाउ करे चकचूरा ॥१॥
He blows the trumpet of unstruck melody and shatters the sense of duality.
