ਹਮਰੀ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਏਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹ ॥

Shalok, Fourth Mehl:

ਹਮਰੀ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਏਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹ ॥

hamrī jihbā ēk prabh hari kē guṇ agam athāh ॥

हमरी जिहबा एक प्रभ हरि के गुण अगम अथाह ॥

I have only one tongue, and the Glorious Virtues of the Lord God are Unapproachable and Unfathomable.

ਹਮ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਜਪਹ ਇਆਣਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਤੁਮ ਵਡ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਹ ॥

ham kiu kari japah iāṇiā hari tum vaḍ agam agāh ॥

हम किउ करि जपह इआणिआ हरि तुम वड अगम अगाह ॥

I am ignorant - how can I meditate on You, Lord? You are Great, Unapproachable and Immeasurable.

ਹਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਪਗਿ ਪਾਹ ॥

hari dēhu prabhū mati ūtmā gur satigur kai pagi pāh ॥

हरि देहु प्रभू मति ऊतमा गुर सतिगुर कै पगि पाह ॥

O Lord God, please bless me with that sublime wisdom, that I may fall at the Feet of the Guru, the True Guru.

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰਾਹ ॥

satsaṅgti hari mēli prabh ham pāpī saṅgi tarāh ॥

सतसंगति हरि मेलि प्रभ हम पापी संगि तराह ॥

O Lord God, please lead me to the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, where even a sinner like myself may be saved.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਹ ॥

jan nānak kau hari bakhsi laihu hari tuṭhai mēli milāh ॥

जन नानक कउ हरि बखसि लैहु हरि तुठै मेलि मिलाह ॥

O Lord, please bless and forgive servant Nanak; please unite him in Your Union.

ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਕਿਰਮ ਤਰਾਹ ॥੧॥

hari kirpā kari suṇi bēntī ham pāpī kiram tarāh ॥1॥

हरि किरपा करि सुणि बेनती हम पापी किरम तराह ॥१॥

O Lord, please be merciful and hear my prayer; I am a sinner and a worm - please save me! ||1||
