ਹੋਰੁ ਸਰੀਕੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਕੋਈ ਤੇਰਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਅਗੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਖਾਂ ॥

Shalok, First Mehl:

ਹੋਰੁ ਸਰੀਕੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਕੋਈ ਤੇਰਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਅਗੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਖਾਂ ॥

hōru sarīku hōvai kōī tērā tisu agai tudhu ākhāṃ ॥

होरु सरीकु होवै कोई तेरा तिसु अगै तुधु आखां ॥

If there were any other equal to You, O Lord, I would speak to them of You.

ਤੁਧੁ ਅਗੈ ਤੁਧੈ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਮੈ ਅੰਧੇ ਨਾਉ ਸੁਜਾਖਾ ॥

tudhu agai tudhai sālāhī mai andhē nāu sujākhā ॥

तुधु अगै तुधै सालाही मै अंधे नाउ सुजाखा ॥

You, I praise You; I am blind, but through the Name, I am all-seeing.

ਜੇਤਾ ਆਖਣੁ ਸਾਹੀ ਸਬਦੀ ਭਾਖਿਆ ਭਾਇ ਸੁਭਾਈ ॥

jētā ākhṇu sāhī sabadī bhākhiā bhāi subhāī ॥

जेता आखणु साही सबदी भाखिआ भाइ सुभाई ॥

Whatever is spoken, is the Word of the Shabad. Chanting it with love, we are embellished.

ਨਾਨਕ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਏਹੋ ਆਖਣੁ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੧॥

nānak bahutā ēhō ākhṇu sabh tērī vaḍiāī ॥1॥

नानक बहुता एहो आखणु सभ तेरी वडिआई ॥१॥

Nanak, this is the greatest thing to say: all glorious greatness is Yours. ||1||
