ਹਉ ਢਾਢੀ ਦਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਦਾ ਜੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ॥

Pauree:

ਹਉ ਢਾਢੀ ਦਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਦਾ ਜੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ॥

hau ḍhāḍhī dari guṇ gāvdā jē hari prabh bhāvai ॥

हउ ढाढी दरि गुण गावदा जे हरि प्रभ भावै ॥

I am a minstrel at His Door, singing His Glorious Praises, to please to my Lord God.

ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਥਿਰ ਥਾਵਰੀ ਹੋਰ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਵੈ ॥

prabhu mērā thir thāvrī hōr āvai jāvai ॥

प्रभु मेरा थिर थावरी होर आवै जावै ॥

My God is permanent and stable; others continue coming and going.

ਸੋ ਮੰਗਾ ਦਾਨੁ ਗੁੋਸਾਈਆ ਜਿਤੁ ਭੁਖ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਵੈ ॥

sō maṅgā dānu gōsāīā jitu bhukh lahi jāvai ॥

सो मंगा दानु गुोसाईआ जितु भुख लहि जावै ॥

I beg for that gift from the Lord of the World, which will satisfy my hunger.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਢਾਢੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵੈ ॥

prabh jīu dēvhu darsanu āpaṇā jitu ḍhāḍhī triptāvai ॥

प्रभ जीउ देवहु दरसनु आपणा जितु ढाढी त्रिपतावै ॥

O Dear Lord God, please bless Your minstrel with the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, that I might be satisfied and fulfilled.

ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਸੁਣੀ ਦਾਤਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਢਾਢੀ ਕਉ ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਵੈ ॥

ardāsi suṇī dātāri prabhi ḍhāḍhī kau mahli bulāvai ॥

अरदासि सुणी दातारि प्रभि ढाढी कउ महलि बुलावै ॥

God, the Great Giver, hears the prayer, and summons the minstrel to the Mansion of His Presence.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੇਖਦਿਆ ਦੁਖ ਭੁਖ ਗਈ ਢਾਢੀ ਕਉ ਮੰਗਣੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥

prabh dēkhdiā dukh bhukh gaī ḍhāḍhī kau maṅgṇu chiti na āvai ॥

प्रभ देखदिआ दुख भुख गई ढाढी कउ मंगणु चिति न आवै ॥

Gazing upon God, the minstrel is rid of pain and hunger; he does not think to ask for anything else.

ਸਭੇ ਇਛਾ ਪੂਰੀਆ ਲਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਪਾਵੈ ॥

sabhē ichhā pūrīā lagi prabh kai pāvai ॥

सभे इछा पूरीआ लगि प्रभ कै पावै ॥

All desires are fulfilled, touching the feet of God.

ਹਉ ਨਿਰਗੁਣੁ ਢਾਢੀ ਬਖਸਿਓਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਵੇਦਾਵੈ ॥੯॥

hau nirguṇu ḍhāḍhī bakhsiōnu prabhi purkhi vēdāvai ॥9॥

हउ निरगुणु ढाढी बखसिओनु प्रभि पुरखि वेदावै ॥९॥

I am His humble, unworthy minstrel; the Primal Lord God has forgiven me. ||9||
