ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

माझ महला ४ ॥

Maajh, Fourth Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

hari gur giānu hari rasu hari pāiā ॥

हरि गुर गिआनु हरि रसु हरि पाइआ ॥

Through the Guru, I have obtained the Lord's spiritual wisdom. I have obtained the Sublime Essence of the Lord.

ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਆਇਆ ॥

manu hari raṅgi rātā hari rasu pīāiā ॥

मनु हरि रंगि राता हरि रसु पीआइआ ॥

My mind is imbued with the Love of the Lord; I drink in the Sublime Essence of the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲੀ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਟੁਲਿ ਟੁਲਿ ਪਉਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

hari hari nāmu mukhi hari hari bōlī manu hari rasi ṭuli ṭuli paudā jīu ॥1॥

हरि हरि नामु मुखि हरि हरि बोली मनु हरि रसि टुलि टुलि पउदा जीउ ॥१॥

With my mouth, I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har; my mind is filled to overflowing with the Sublime Essence of the Lord. ||1||

ਆਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਮੈ ਗਲਿ ਮੇਲਾਈਐ ॥

āvhu sant mai gali mēlāīai ॥

आवहु संत मै गलि मेलाईऐ ॥

Come, O Saints, and lead me to my Lord's Embrace.

ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਕੀ ਮੈ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਈਐ ॥

mērē prītam kī mai kathā suṇāīai ॥

मेरे प्रीतम की मै कथा सुणाईऐ ॥

Recite to me the Sermon of my Beloved.

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਵਾ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਚਉਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

hari kē sant milhu manu dēvā jō gurbāṇī mukhi chaudā jīu ॥2॥

हरि के संत मिलहु मनु देवा जो गुरबाणी मुखि चउदा जीउ ॥२॥

I dedicate my mind to those Saints of the Lord, who chant the Word of the Guru's Bani with their mouths. ||2||

ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥

vaḍbhāgī hari santu milāiā ॥

वडभागी हरि संतु मिलाइआ ॥

By great good fortune, the Lord has led me to meet His Saint.

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

guri pūrai hari rasu mukhi pāiā ॥

गुरि पूरै हरि रसु मुखि पाइआ ॥

The Perfect Guru has placed the Sublime Essence of the Lord into my mouth.

ਭਾਗਹੀਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਗਰਭ ਜੂਨੀ ਨਿਤਿ ਪਉਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

bhāghīn satiguru nahī pāiā manmukhu garabh jūnī niti paudā jīu ॥3॥

भागहीन सतिगुरु नही पाइआ मनमुखु गरभ जूनी निति पउदा जीउ ॥३॥

The unfortunate ones do not find the True Guru; the self-willed manmukhs continually endure reincarnation through the womb. ||3||

ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲਿ ਦਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥

āpi daiāli daiā prabhi dhārī ॥

आपि दइआलि दइआ प्रभि धारी ॥

God, the Merciful, has Himself bestowed His Mercy.

ਮਲੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਸਭ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥

malu haumai bikhiā sabh nivārī ॥

मलु हउमै बिखिआ सभ निवारी ॥

He has totally removed the poisonous pollution of egotism.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਟ ਪਟਣ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਾਂਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਉਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੫॥

nānak haṭ paṭaṇ vichi kāṃiā hari laindē gurmukhi saudā jīu ॥4॥5॥

नानक हट पटण विचि कांइआ हरि लैंदे गुरमुखि सउदा जीउ ॥४॥५॥

O Nanak, in the shops of the city of the human body, the Gurmukhs buy the merchandise of the Lord's Name. ||4||5||
